Another relaxing Tuesday episode just bantering about Laremy's surgery, The Butler title dispute, The Lone Ranger's box office performance and taking a couple voicemails. We also dive into the new DVDs and Blu-rays for the week and I offer up a little commentary on Criterion's edition of Claude Lanzman's Shoah.

Quick and to the point this Friday as holiday festivities prevented us from going too long, but we still deliver over an hour of podcast goodness for your ears including a lengthy conversation about The Lone Ranger and brief chatter concerning both Despicable Me 2 and The Way, Way Back. Today's podcast features our first of what will hopefully be several filmmaker interviews as we discuss Gasland Part II with director Josh Fox. The follow-up documentary airs on HBO on July 8. We also answer your questions, discuss the lack of minority lead actors in major Hollywood features, play some games, talk new DVDs and Blu-rays and much, much more.

As with all Friday podcasts, it's time to review some movies. Today it's The Heat and White House Down, but before we get there we're talking about the NBA Draft, Paula Deen, The Counselor, Taken 3, Terminator 5 and our Lone Ranger screening. We also get to your questions and comments, play a few games and otherwise crush it.

Sort of just a general topic podcast today with no real focus though we delve into the death of James Gandolfini off the top, Jim Carrey's thoughts on violence in Kick-Ass 2, today's new DVD and Blu-ray releases, listing off some of our favorite movies and Laremy is asked to green light one of two sequels based on the stats for the first film. Which one will he give the green?

So much for hour-long episodes, today's runs over 100 minutes and includes reviews of World War Z, Monsters University and Maniac, but before that we spent upwards of 20 minutes telling you about all the crazy people that had an effect on our lives over the last three days.

Today's podcast is random topics galore plus some extended conversation regarding Man of Steel and a silly controversy making its way around the Internet concerning its ending. We also play our usual grouping of games, talk a little about Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and movies like it and discuss today's new DVD and Blu-ray releases.

We are dubsteppin' all over this podcast, opening up with a conversation discussing Steven Spielberg and George Lucas' recent comments on the future of cinema, the latest dubstepped trailer for Pacific Rim, some more Man of Steel talk, breaking down the World War Z Mega Ticket and so, so much more.

Laremy is joining us from Wyoming where he takes some time out of his vacation so we can record this latest issue of the RopeofSilicon podcast. Today we are reviewing The Internship, The Purge, Violet and Daisy and The East as well as answering your questions and voicemails and playing one quick game of Over / Under.

I really like today's show as we bounce around several topics, got to a lot of listener questions and voicemails and shut it down with our regular batch of games. The topics are all movie related except for one and we even get to discuss The Bling Ring briefly as Laremy finally had a chance to see it.

Another large crop of films to review for the second podcast in a row as we take a look at the week's new releases After Earth and Now You See Me as well as a belated look at Fast and Furious 6. In addition to this the first 29 minutes of today's episode takes a look at film reviews and the trend of defending one's opinion and/or responding to other reviews rather than just giving your own opinion of a film. Of course, then we also get into your questions, voice mails and our regular crop of games.

We are back to the ol' routine as Laremy and I try to pick up where we left off with looks at four new films including reviews of Star Trek Into Darkness, Behind the Candelabra, The Hangover Part III and Epic. We also get to your questions from a couple weeks ago along with all our usual games.

Chandor's All is Lost. For the most part I think we manage to stay clear of spoilers in this one so don't be too nervous about listening to the entire thing.
