Today's podcast is filled with randomness beginning with another problematic screening of a movie, marking what may be the longest streak of rude filmgoers I've experienced in a long time along with new DVDs and Blu-rays including this week's release of the first season of "Game of Thrones". We also get a lot into the state of cinema and the movie going experience and thanks to a question from Roberto925 we dig into the decline of the rom-com and why they seem to all be so bad.

We are still talking movies and the first 35 minutes wrap up the Oscars with our thoughts and several of your questions mixed in, we also explore the week's new DVD and Blu-ray releases, Laremy has a couple random topics for us, more of your listener questions, over/unders and even some politics.

We are two days away from the Oscars so you know today's discussion is going to have plenty of Oscar talk, but also in there we had another run-in with the crazy movie screening security guy and we'll also talk about the Weinstein Co.'s dealings with the MPAA, Sacha Baron Cohen's ban from the Oscars, The Hunger Games, Over/Under, listener questions and reviews of Act of Valor and Wanderlust.

It's Tuesday and on top of discussing the new DVDs and Blu-rays this week's podcast explores several Oscar topics from shorts, to the demographic and predictions, plus listener questions, over/under as well as a brief discussion on the possibility of studios bringing movies to Facebook.

Welcome to another episode of the RopeofSilicon podcast as Laremy and I delve into the ever-so-important bowels of the film industry with a dose of sports and television to keep things lively. Today the obvious starting off point is the Super Bowl and the myriad of trailers that played during it (watch all of them here) as well as the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man. We also explore tonight's premiere of "The River", discuss video games, tell a story about an over-bearing security guy at our Act of Valor screening last night, play a little over/under, discuss the new DVD and Blu-ray releases and mix in a little bit of this and a little bit of that along the way. Best part, not a single mention of the Oscars or the awards season. You're welcome!

We open this week's episode looking at Skyfall, The Hobbit, Katherine Heigl and Bridget Jones 3 before Laremy introduces us to another rousing game of over/under. From there we review Chronicle and The Woman in Black and then it's nothing but listener questions as we search for a winner for The Artist posters, which have already been emailed and are announced at the 80-minute mark of yet another long podcast that ended up running just over 97 minutes, but we did our best to get to all the questions and topics we could to give everyone a fair shake.

It's Tuesday and today's podcast is packed to the gills with awards talk, your questions, discussions on all the new DVD and Blu-rays hitting shelves today and the question we've been all wondering the answer to� Is Laremy a man or is he a Muppet? Things kick off with SAG awards talk and then I pulled several of the listener questions/topics from last Friday and yesterday's announcement of this week's prize for best listener question/topic, which, I feel I must remind you, are two posters for The Artist, one signed by the cast and director and the other signed by Uggie the dog. Those posters we will be giving away on Friday, but we are still taking questions so enter yours in the comments below as I have already started compiling those that have already been submitted. After awards talk we explore the news that Matthew Vaughn is going to direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class the Laremy has a brief over/under game for me before we do our best to discuss the chatter over the ending to The Grey with the smallest number of spoilers possible. And I must say, I think we did a pretty good job, though no hard feelings if you skip that six-minute segment. From there we discuss Sam Worthington's career, new DVDs and Blu-rays, Spotify and then a few more questions before closing the door on this 65-minute episode.

This week begins with awards talk galore from predictions for this Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards (which Laremy and I will be live-blogging), a continued examination of the nominees based on listener questions and I continue the discussion from my post asking "What film would have been the tenth Best Picture nominee?" From there we review this week's new releases The Grey and Man on a Ledge before offering potential titles for a sequel to War Horse and play a little box-office toss-up before closing the show out with over ten additional listener questions answered.

It's Oscar nomination day and Laremy and I spend the first 35 minutes of this Tuesday edition of the RopeofSilicon podcast looking over all 21 major categories and from there the podcast sort of derails. We try to talk about Underworld Awakening, but we really don't, then last night's Florida debate gets in there somehow, I rant about a cell phone commercial and you can really just take it from there.

Happy Friday and welcome to our latest podcast where Laremy and I discuss this week's new releases Red Tails and Haywire (and we're actually heading out the door right now to see Underworld Awakening) as well as discuss our Oscar predictions as well as our predictions for which film will be declared the box-office champion of 2012.

We had to take last Friday off, but we're back to our regular schedule this week and don't worry, we review Contraband in today's episode along with discuss this week's new DVD and Blu-ray releases not to mention our trip to the Critics Choice Awards, the Golden Globes and the BAFTA nominees as awards conversation continues to dominate. From there we look over Quentin Tarantino's Top 11 of 2011 list, I watched "Alcatraz" and have a few things to say and then we explore a variety of listener submitted topics.
