The Shelf Podcast
Summary: This was meant to be a podcast of live gigs from The Shelf, a comedy night in Melbourne, but mostly it's Adam & Justin nattering on about who knows what. Cover illustration by James Fosdike.

Podcasts:
Justin has been overseas on a secret assignment, and Adam has been in Melbourne on a secret assignment, so there has been no Shelf Podcast for a couple of weeks. Apologies. This episode is Adam Richard and Tegan Higginbotham having a natter in a café. Tegan's hair is falling out, Kevin Rudd's refusal to go away, Les Mis, David O. Russell, and watching comedy.
Last week it was in a car, this week Justin and Adam are on foot, on a tram and on a train as they head out to see a preview of the movie Cloud Atlas, which they talk about a lot. They also talk about other passengers, Justin gives a serve to an impolite audience, and both of them give too many details about noxious fluids being expelled from their bodies.
It's a PodCARst as Adam gives Justin a lift to the airport so he can do gigs in Queensland. In between trying to kill children and cyclists, we cough and sniffle a lot, and rabbit on about things like: who we would cast as Justin in the movie of his life, the end of things (which Adam has blogged about for MolksTVTalk), the things dogs do, suburbs in standup as code for racism, and bronzing up.
Every week at The Shelf we are presented with The Shelf News, delivered with aplomb by Adam Rozenbachs and Tegan Higginbotham. This is a collection of their work. If you can't work out what is going on in some of it, that would be Justin, Adam and Wil crashing the stage. Sometimes almost nude, in Adam's case. Follow @arozenbachs and @TeganMH on Twitter!
It's a memory episode! Just like when someone hits their head on Happy Days and remembers all their favourite episodes, Justin, Adam and Tegan remember the time Celia Pacquola joined Adam and Juzzy on stage to talk about her sister's baby. Adam sexually harasses James Bond and then we all lose our minds over Skyfall.
It's our final podcast! Okay, calm down. Just for 2012. Phew. It's Justin, Adam and Tegan talking through Justin's list of the best and worst of 2012 conveniently repurposed from his TV & Movie reviews for Mix 94.5 in Perth. Yes, we managed to take a polite five minute segment and turn it into an hour of profane yelling. Play it for the family on Christmas Day. If your family likes swearing and hearing Adam freak out about deep fried people.
It's a flat Cup Day for Justin and Adam in Hammo's kitchen. They talk about horse racing, old vs new comics, Kathleen Turner, condoms and baby trams. All in a storm.
Adam and Justin are joined by Tegan, who is the only ray of sunshine in a dark cloud of anger. The connection between upstairs and downstairs, the albino octopus from Prometheus, Brendan Fevola's junk, Justin's imaginary pussy. This one is chockers.
Dead cats, James Bond, hairy hangovers, vegetarian mums, dog farts, Jackie Macdonald and an unrehearsed reading of TOFOP Erotic Fan Fiction!
The failings of Tits McGee, erotic fan fiction, Homeland, Doctor Who, Al Pacino, Ben Affleck and Doing Donuts with Miss Daisy. If you want to send us your erotic fan fiction you can email info@shelvers.com.au - you too Wil.
Justin has been overseas, and has an excruciating tale of international air travel that will make you want to punch something, or someone, or a plane. We also bang on about Alan Jones and Kyle Sandilands. We also start to become Are You Being Served?
Justin is actoring somewhere, so Tegan is back in Adam's kitchen for gasbaggery about Tom Hardy rooting a corpse, Fox and Dana pashing on the X-Files, David Fincher's director's cut of Alien3, Tegan's venom retention, comedy in Brisbane, and the time Adam tried to save Kate McClennan from talking about her mother's hoohah. All this and the espresso machine eggo revenge.
Here are some heavily edited highlights from our second live show of Season 4. Lehmo is attempting to do his Olympics segment, but Wil Anderson is more interested in Lehmo's alleged paternity of half of Adelaide. Adam and Justin aren't helping either, and if the audience would stop laughing and encouraging the bad behaviour, Lehmo might be able to get on and do what he came for. There was a whole chunk of this that I cut out because Wil was talking about things he wasn't meant to. Then he went and said it all in the last TOFOP podcast with Charlie Clauscen. Completists who want to put the the pieces together should know it's the MacroHard bit about the glove.
Aside from some massive Doctor Who spoilers, we talk a lot of telly. Newsroom, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, Ghost Whisperer (yes, really) and Justin cooks an egg. Seems we've incorporated a cooking segment. Also, just in case you missed it in the first sentence MASSIVE DOCTOR WHO SPOILERS. You can see the episode online in Australia at ABC iView. www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/25979
Back in the studio after the end of Shelf Live Season 4, we talk bird dirt baths, photo faces, car accidents, how awesome Tom Gleeson is, how Wil Anderson lives like a student, World Series Cricket, scary old dudes with moustaches, Bobcat Goldthwaite, getting out of the awkward morning convo after a one night stand and virulence vs virality.
