It’s a fascinating topic so I brought onto the show an expert in this subject, Paul Clifford, welcome.Paul: Hey James, thanks for inviting me in the show. I really appreciate it.Disrupting The Marketplace James: Now, you are doing something very disruptive in the marketplace. You even called your website “Disruptware.” Something around that. Is that right? Disruptware.comPaul: Yes. Absolutely. Essentially, my background has always been in software, especially in the SaaS market. SaaS stands for Software as Service, so essentially, a software delivered on the Web.What happened, my last SaaS business where I was actually an employee, we sold that company for like $38 million and since then I moved and started on my own and started doing online marketing and how to sell online and everything like that. And I started building some apps, some content marketing apps, I’ve got a keyword tool, some security software and I got another SaaS app in progress. What I really found is that, in the marketing world, a lot of people are coming to me asking, how do I do this, how do I do that.

You’ve got a website called BasicBananas.com, so it’s quite an unusual name.Franziska: It is, and you know, it’s an interesting name because it kind of doesn’t say much about what we do, but people remember. So it’s interesting that you actually remember when we first started using some of your services for our members.Because every time I go somewhere to a function or some events, people seem to come up and say, “You’re the banana lady.” And that’s a good thing, even though I don’t really like bananas.James: Well, I did hear at Seth Godin’s Startup School, he was talking about how the more you have to explain a brand, the stronger it can become if it becomes successful. And he gives examples like Google. But if you think about Amazon, Google, Apple, Yahoo, eBay, they don’t really mean anything. They’re not like keyword domains. But, when you look at search trends like content marketing, they’re way on the up. And that’s why I’ve been putting out podcasts and videos on SuperFastBusiness for the last few years. And it’s really come to the attention of other marketers who have invited me to submit guest posts for blogs, to speak at events like the Traffic & Conversion Summit, on why podcasting is so important, what podcasting actually means to the marketer, and how you go about doing it.Now one of the things that come up when I’m talking about it is the challenge of getting a team around you to help you produce and publish your podcast. You see, talking to the camera like this, or making an interview on Skype is pretty much the easy part. The hard part is task sourcing or building a team, who you have to pay, train and manage to put it all together. And let’s face it: you’ve got other things to do as a business owner other than to run a team. So now I’ve put together the perfect solution.Get a team to help you process your podcasts I thought, my team, who have been doing a lot of search engine optimization, some of those people can move across and start helping out in the publishing team.So the same team who have been putting together these videos for the last two years have been training out new recruits so that we can help you with your podcast. In fact if you go to our products tab, you’ll see there’s a Publisher’s Pack. And if you don’t even have a website, we can actually help you build it from scratch. And if you already have one, great news, we can help you produce and publish your episodes. Our team will actually upload, edit, transcribe, do show notes, write images, post to the blog and all that stuff like we do at SuperFastBusiness.com, ThinkActGet, and FreedomOcean. So check out the team’s packages. It doesn’t matter if you’re doing short videos like this one, or whether you do hour-long podcasts. We can actually help you get one out every single week like clockwork. And it’s going to cost you a heck a lot less than if you have to hire ...

I like to bring these interviews because we get to dig inside the mind of an expert on various topics.Today’s topic is really close to my heart. It’s something I’ve been involved with, on almost daily basis for the last couple of years, and I think that it’s a huge opportunity for more people to get involved with. And of course I’m talking about the area of video marketing. And who else could I invite for a show like this than Jules Watkins. How are you Jules?Jules: Yeah, very good James. Thanks very much for inviting me on.James: Well, it was just a matter of time because I have two of your products that I absolutely adore. And I think I commented somewhere that iPhone Video Hero is one of the few products where I got access to it, and watched the entire product in one sitting because it was so engaging and so interesting. And a lot of that comes down to your presentation style and the way that you put the course together. So congratulations on doing such a good job with that.Jules: Oh yeah, thanks very much for that. Well, that’s exactly right. I did try and put a lot of myself into it, and some of my background which I’m sure we’re going to talk about in a sec.

Love to get a hold of experts and talk about things that are really impacting the Internet business space. Today’s topic is what makes a great website design, and the particular focus is on design. So I’ve reached out to one of my good friends, and he really is actually a good friend, and also a member of my SilverCircle mastermind. Welcome Greg Merrilees from Studio1Design.com.Greg: Good day James, how are you, man?James: Good. So, are you burning up down there in Melbourne right now?Greg: Actually it's a bit colder today. But it has been ridiculous. It's just too extreme down here, but today's bearable.James: Now with your business, you've been focused heavily on design in many traditional industries, and you had a design studio, you were doing some cool stuff with T-shirts, but also some unusual items. What sort of things have you been designing in the last few years?Greg: Mainly websites, actually. The last probably four years, I developed my own websites and trying to work out what converts and build a site that's better based around conversions. And in doing that, you know, I started doing it for friends, and then eventually started doing it professionally. So that was four years ago that we started, and now, I guess we concentrate on designing for marketers like yourself that have your own clientele. From fashion to web design James: Right. What are some of the most unusual things you've designed? I went to your studio and you had some unusual merchandise there.Greg: Yeah, I guess over the years, so we've had the design studio for 14 years or thereabouts, and over the years we've pretty much sifted and shifted through all sorts of products, so we've done… let me think, we've done thongs, we've done packaging...James: Now, you should clarify that for the non-Australians. We're talking about flip-flops, right?

Welcome back to SuperFastBusiness.com. I’ve got a special interview today and the topic is productivity. I was over in San Diego and I met a young author who had put together a book on the subject of productivity called “The Productive Person.” Welcome to the call, Chandler Bolt.Chandler: What’s up, James. How are you doing?James: Very good, thanks. So, you’ve co-authored this book and your co-author is called James Roper. You put together some information around productivity and I am always interested in this topic as I’m sure most of our listeners are because it seems like, if you speak to most business people, they always have the sense that there are more things to do than they have time to do. Would that be a fair statement?Chandler: Exactly. And that’s kind of why we wrote the book.James: So a lot of the ideas in there I was familiar with. There’s a few distinctions that I thought was fantastic. Let’s treat this like a book club where we sit down and chat about some of the ideas that you mentioned in the book and how you perhaps discovered them and what sort of implications it has for people when they started applying it. All right?Chandler: That sounds good.Want-tos versus must-dos James: So, one of the first things is that people are confused with the “want-tos" and that "must-dos." Perhaps, you could develop that a little bit for us.Chandler: Just a little bit on the story of the background of the book… James and I, we basically decided to write this book and it came about because him and I both run businesses and we were also students along with all these other things that we also had to get done.It was kind of forced productivity and we realized that the major thing there was as a student and as an entrepreneur, you know you have a lot of things that you just need to get d...
