 If You're Not Ready You're Perfect - Part 3 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:05

You don’t have to be perfect,
you just have to be willing. Hebrews 12:6 My dear child, don’t shrug off God’s discipline but don’t be crushed by it either. It’s the child he loves that he disciplines; the child he embraces, he also corrects. Hebrews 12:10-11 While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best. At the time, discipline isn’t much fun. It always feels like it’s going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God. God wants you to grow because He loves you, but He needs you to grow because He loves everybody. Acts 1:3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. Acts 1:6-11 Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” God wants you to grow
because He loves you,
but He needs you to grow because He loves everybody. “Without a doubt, my greatest accomplishment is the raising up of young leaders who will take my place.” Get Baptized Attend Next Move Join a Team Host a Small Group Love Your Neighbor

Judges 6:11-16 NIV 11 The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. 12 When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior." 13 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian." 14 The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?" 15 Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family." 16 The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.” - God gave Gideon a new name 1 Samuel 16:7 HCSB But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his stature, because I have rejected him. Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man sees what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.” - God gave Gideon a next step Judges 7:2 NIV The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’" Philippians 1:6 NLT "I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." - God gave Gideon a new purpose Judges 7:15-17 NIV 15 When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, "Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands." 16 Dividing the three hundred men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of all of them, with torches inside. 17 "Watch me," he told them. "Follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do." Revelation 2:17 NLT “... And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it."

On the other side of fear there is great opportunity. You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be willing. Matthew 14:23-29 23 When evening came, he was there alone, 24 but the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. 26 But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” 29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. If you want to walk on water, you have to get out of the boat. What could God do through a willing “you”?

Matthew 10:40-42 ISV 40 “The one who receives you receives me, and the one who receives me receives the one who sent me. 41 The one who receives a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and the one who receives a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 I tell all of you with certainty, whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple will never lose his reward.” - Men do not see as God sees. - The world as it now is does not value what God values. Matthew 19:30 ISV But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first. - Who are you putting first in your life? - Do you value what Christ values? John 6:38 ISV For I have come down from Heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of the One who sent me. Luke 12:16-21 ISV 16 Then he told them a parable. He said, “The land of a certain rich man produced good crops. 17 So he began to think to himself, ‘What should I do, since I have no place to store my crops?' 18 Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and I’ll store all my grain and goods in them. 19 Then I’ll say to myself, “You’ve stored up plenty of good things for many years. Take it easy, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself."' 20 But God told him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you. Now who will get the things you’ve accumulated?’ 21 That’s how it is with the person who stores up treasures for himself rather than with God.” - God isn't against you being blessed! - God is opposed to you being self-centered. Ephesians 2:8-10 ISV 8 For by such grace you have been saved through faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God 9 and not the result of actions, to put a stop to all boasting. 10 For we are God's masterpiece, created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life. 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 ISV 9 So whether we are at home or away from home, our goal is to be pleasing to him. 10 For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of the Messiah, so that each of us may receive what he deserves for what he has done in his body, whether good or worthless. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 ISV 10 As an expert builder using the grace that God gave me, I laid the foundation, and someone else is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. 11 After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that is Jesus the Messiah. 12 Whether a person builds on this foundation with gold, silver, expensive stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 the workmanship of each person will become evident, for the day of judgment will show what it is, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s action. 14 If what a person has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If his work is burned up, he will suffer loss. However, he himself will be saved, but it will be like going through fire. Malachi 3:16-17 NLT 16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name. 17 "They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 1 Corinthians 3:10 ISV As an expert builder using the grace that God gave me... - You'll never be at your best when you are alone... - You're at your best when you're on a team! - You have influence that He doesn't have!

Genesis 1:31 And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. Hebrews 2:14-15 NIV 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, He, too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death— that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. "No more let sins and sorrows grow Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found." - Isaac Watts Romans 8:19-22 NIV 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subject to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Job 25:5 NIV ... the stars are not pure in His eyes. Nothing less than the complete restoration of creation will satisfy God! 1 Corinthians 15:14 NIV And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. If God were to end history and reign forever in a distant Heaven, Earth would be remembered as a graveyard of sin and failure. Job 19:25-27 NIV 25 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see Him with my own eyes— I, and not another. Genesis 2:7 NIV The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Matthew 24:35 NIV Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. James 4:4 Friendship with the world is hatred toward God Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world... 1 Corinthians 3:19 The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. James 4:4 Friendship with the world (as it in now) is hatred toward God Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world (as it is now)... 1 Corinthians 3:19 The wisdom of this world (as it is now) is foolishness with God. - God did not promise us a non-earth— He promised us a new earth! - Randy Alcorn Revelation 21:1-4 NIV 1 Then I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth, for the first Heaven and the first Earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men and He will live with them. They will be his people and God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Daniel 7:14 ESV And to Him (Messiah) was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages should serve Him... Revelation 21:26 NIV The glory and the honor of the nations will be brought into it (the new Jerusalem). Revelation 10:6 NIV There will be no more delay! - Time was not a mark of the world in a fallen state. - Time is not the enemy— death is! Matthew 25:23 NIV His master replied, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things..." Isaiah 65:25 NIV The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox... Isaiah 11:6-9 NIV 6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and yearling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the hole of the cobra and the young child will put his hand into the viper's nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain, for the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Genesis 1:1 NKJV In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Isaiah 14:13 NKJV For you have said in your heart: "I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north..." Psalm 75:6 NKJV For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. Job 26:7 NKJV He stretches out the north over the empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. Matthew 24:35 NKJV Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Genesis 2:7 NKJV And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being (soul). 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NKJV ... may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:26 NKJV The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 2 Corinthians 5:1-5 ISV 1 We know that if the earthly tent we live in is torn down, we have a building in heaven that comes from God, an eternal house not built by human hands. 2 For in this one we sigh, since we long to put on our heavenly dwelling 3 Of course, if we do put it on, we will not be found without a body. 4 So while we are still in this tent, we sigh under our burdens, because we do not want to put it off but to put it on, so that our dying bodies may be swallowed up by life. 5 God has prepared us for this and has given us his Spirit as a guarantee. 1 John 3:2 ISV Dear friends, now are we God's children, but what we will be like hasn't been revealed yet. We know that when Christ is revealed we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is. Luke 24:36-43 ISV 36 While they were all talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and told them, "Peace be with you." 37 They were startled and terrified, thinking they were seeing a ghost. 38 But Jesus told them, "What's frightening you? And why are you doubting 39 Look at my hands and my feet, because it’s really me. Touch me and look at me, because a ghost doesn’t have flesh and bones as you see that I have." 40 After he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 Even though they were still skeptical due to their joy and astonishment, Jesus asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence. If Christ has a body that is both physical and spiritual, Heaven must have physical properties! Acts 7:55-56 ISV 55 But Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight into Heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 He said, "Look! I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!" 2 Kings 6:17 NKJV And Elisha prayed, and said, "Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16 NKJV So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Revelation 6:9-11 ISV 9 When the lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and the testimony they had given. 10 They cried out in a loud voice, “Holy and true Sovereign, how long will it be before you judge and take revenge on those living on the earth who shed our blood?" 11 Each of them was given a white robe. They were told to rest a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers was completed, who would be killed as they themselves had been. Can you know for sure that you are going to Heaven? 1 John 5:13 ISV I've written these things to you who believe on the name of the Son of God so that you will know that you have eternal life.

250,000 people go to Heaven or Hell everyday, yet most people put little or no thought into the next life Colossians 3:1-2 ISV 1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep focusing on the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Keep your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth. "The Christians who did the most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next." C.S. Lewis Revelation 13:5-6 ISV 5 The beast was allowed to speak arrogant and blasphemous things. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God and to blaspheme His name and His residence - those who are living in Heaven. Isaiah 14:12-15 NLT 12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. 13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. 14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’ 15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths. Matthew 21:14-16 ISV 14 Blind and lame people came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the high priests and the scribes saw the amazing things that he had done and the children shouting in the Temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became furious 16 and asked him, “Do you hear what these people are saying?” Jesus told them, “Yes! Haven’t you ever read, ‘From the mouths of infants and nursing babies you have created praise’?” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 ISV 9 But as it is written, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. 10 But God has revealed those things to us by His Spirit. For the spirit searches everything, even the deep things of God." 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 ISV 2 I know a man who belongs to the Messiah. Fourteen years ago—whether in his body or outside of his body, I do not know, but God knows—that man was snatched away to the third heaven. 3 I know that this man—whether in his body or outside of his body, I do not know, but God knows— 4 was snatched away to Paradise and heard things that cannot be expressed in words, things that no human being has a right even to mention. Revelation 1:10-11 ISV 10 I came to be in the Spirit on the Day of the Lord, when I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet, 11 saying, “Write on a scroll what you see..." Colossians 3:1 ISV Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep focusing on the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Most commands assume a resistance to obeying them Most of us find it very difficult to want "Heaven" at all- except in so far as "Heaven" means meeting again our friends who have died 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV ... casting down imaginations... If a God-given function can be used in the negative, it can be trained to function in the positive Genesis 11:6 KJV And the Lord said, "Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do." Your imagination is the key to your behavior!

Acts 14:19-20 19 They stoned Paul and dragged him out of town, thinking he was dead. 20 But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. 2 Corinthians 12:2, 4 2 I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don't know- Only God knows... 4 But I do know that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things so human is allowed to tell. 1 Corinthians 15:43-44 43 Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. Hebrews 8:5 They serve in a system of worship that is only a copy, a shadow of the real one in heaven. 1 Corinthians 2:9 "'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.' But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit." Isaiah 6:3 "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." Romans 8:19-22 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God's curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God's children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Earth labors under famine, disease, decay, death and destruction. This is not the place to live for—there’s a Place for us that is more real, more beautiful, more alive. John 14:2-3 2 "There is more than enough room in my Father's home... I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am." Luke 16:9 "Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home." God intended relationships to last- for us to go to new depths with each other in Heaven- He created us for relationship, first with Himself. Revelation 21:23-24 23 The city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminated the city, and the Lamb [Jesus] is its light. 24 The nations will walk in its light. Daniel 12:2-3 2 [The dead] will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting disgrace... 3 and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. Matthew 10:26 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will received their praise from God. God wants to reward us. He wants our life review to be a time of great celebration and reward for a life lived in loving faithfulness to him and our fellow man. Daniel 10:5-6 5 I looked up and saw a man dressed in linen clothing, with a belt of pure gold around his waist. 6 His body looked like a precious gem. His face flashed like lightning, and his eyes flamed like torches... and his voice roared like a vast multitude of people. Acts 9:3-5 3 As [Paul] was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?" 5 "Who are you, lord?" Saul asked. And the voice replied, "I am Jesus, the on you are persecuting!" Revelation 5:9 "You were slain, and with you blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation." “Do you love me?” It’s really the most important question you can answer. Accepting God’s love offered through Christ is your ticket to Heaven- it’s a free gift. And if you have your ticket in- live for the rewards that last. Live for the Kingdom to come by letting His will be done in your life, as it is in Heaven.

- A church helps me know God - A church helps me connect with other believers - A church helps me grow spiritually - A church helps me discover my purpose God didn't just save you FROM something, he saved you FOR something Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Isaiah 6:5-8 5 Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. 7 He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.” 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" Saved People, Serve People God-given gifts + Serve others + God's purpose = Ministry Ephesians 4:11-12 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up Attending church is NOT a spiritual gift What's your ministry?

- A church helps me know God - A church helps me connect with other believers - A church helps me grow spiritually Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Romans 8:29 For from the very beginning God decided that those who came to him—and all along he knew who would—should become like his Son… Real spiritual growth isn’t just measured by how much you know about God, but rather by how much you are like God Matthew 23:1-3 1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach." Matthew 23:27-28 27 Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. John 13:35 By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. You learn about God through teaching, but you become like God in a community A community is required equipment for disciples Acts 2:46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control... Your small group is your laboratory You learn about God through teaching, but you become like God in a community

- The church helps me know God. - The church helps me connect with other believers. - The Bible calls this "Fellowship." The Church is not a place I go, it is a people I belong to. - We are a Building Eph 2:20,22 (ICB) You believers are like a building that God owns… Jesus is the most important stone in the building and the whole building is joined together in Christ… You are being built into a place where God lives through the Spirit. Eph. 2:21 (NLT) We who believe are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. - We are a Building. - We are a Body. Rom. 12:4-5 (LB) Just as there are many parts to our bodies, so it is with Christ’s Body. We are all parts of it, and it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have different work to do. So we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others. - We are a Building. - We are a Body. - We are a Flock. 1 Peter 5:2 (ICB) Take care of God’s flock, His people, that you are responsible for. Watch over them because you want to, not because you are forced to do it. Ps. 100:3 (NLT) God made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. - We are a Building. - We are a Body. - We are a Flock. - We are a Family. 1 Tim. 3:15 (GWT) I want you to know how people who are members of God’s family must live. God’s family is the church… Rom. 12:10 (NCV) Love each other like brothers and sisters. The church is not a place I go, it is a people I belong to. - We are a building. - We are a body. - We are a flock. - We are a family.

The church is the only thing Jesus ever built. Matthew 16:18 ...on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. The church is the body of Christ. The church is something I am a part of, not something I go to. Acts 2:42-47 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. Acts 2:42-47 All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. A church helps me KNOW God. Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. See Him in worship Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Isaiah 6:5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Face-to-face moments with God change everything. O to grace how great a debtor Daily I’m constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, Bind my wandering heart to Thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above. - Come Thou Fount, Robert Robinson "Things which are not in their intended position are restless. Once they are in their ordered positions, they are at rest." - Augustine - See Him in worship - Understand Him through teaching Matthew 13:18-19 Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. - See Him in worship - Understand Him through teaching - Become like Him in community Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
