In Jack’s home in Beverly Hills, Rochester does the Spring cleaning as he sings some ad lib lyrics about Jack. They joke about love in the Springtime, and Polly’s love affair with the feather duster. Jack helps with some of the work, but when Mary comes inJack has an accident. She reads a letter from her mom about the family cow. Dennis arrives with congradulations about his aunt who had a baby to add to her large family. Phil enters to have Jack cash a check so he can do some shopping. In the conversation, Jack calls Phil by his real name. Mary comments on Phil’s fashion and style before he leaves. Don enters with the Sportsmen with a problem. They want to ask Jack for a raise. After the deal is touched on, but before they can sing anything, A phone call comes in from Ozzie Nelson, who called to announce his switch to CBS, and his new time slot just before jack. Harriot is on the other extension and they bring up a complaint about Jack’s laundry service. Jack gets ready to go on an outing with the Beavers. The kids get ready for an overnight camping trip. The Beavers talk about some of Jack’s tall tales that he has told to them. They talk about Jack and the Academy Awards, and why he didn’t win. Jack arrives and the classic bear hunting joke from earlier in the season returns. The troop march on their nature walk, but it’s time for a rest as jack takes off his shoes, then one by one the Beavers take a leap over the stream to set up camp. Later when camp is set up, Jack leads in telling stories around the camp fire. The Beavers turn in for the night, and when one boy is afraid, Jack encourages him. When the noises of the night get to Jack, he has a momentary experience of fear. How does he deal with It?

Miss Brooks recounts an event that she experienced recently when weighing herself on a penny scale. The card it spit out, promised that she would meet a tall dark man soon. Who could that be? How can she find out? Mrs Davis suggests having tea leaves read. Not only does she predict the dark man, but children as well. As Walter takes Miss Brooks to school, he seeks advice from her about Harriot. When Connie goes to talk with Hariot they both have had the same fortune from the scale. They both even come across the same mystery man. He’s a new teacher from France, and they both want to show him the ropes. Who will win the honors? Mr Conklin is no help in choosing. Mr Boynton has to bow out of the lunch date where Connie and the French teacher will be meeting. It seems that his frog has a sore throat. Poor little MacDoogal. Connie asks the French teacher to speak only French in front of Mr Boynton. It seems to be an effort to make Boynton jealous. In an awkward moment, Boynton is offended over a comment about frogs, and leaves. The French teacher shows a special interest, and has a proposal for Connie. Is this the mysterious, dark man? What about those kids that were predicted? It’s not what you think. He’s married and just wants Connies help in preparing the way for his wife and three kids to come to AmericaWhat a let down, but a cute story.

A young French nobleman, Alexis D’Toukfel, spends a year in America in 1831, and writes his observations. His work would become a literary milestone in what a democracy is all about, and how America has been a success at it when other nations have failed. Viewing America as a foreigner in his day, he takes us from our time today to be foreigners with him in the peculiar habits in American social life. Business ventures explode, opportunities are to be had by anybody. Equality, boasting, and business seems to be a virtue, and everybody seems to be in a mad rush to get to where they’re going. People always on the move, and fearful to let someone get in front of him on the road. By and large people are well fed, well dressed, and at ease. Styles, fashion, social and business viewpoints on owning slaves is portrayed. A tale of working yourself up through the ranks from ragged, poor boy, to wealthy hotel owner is heard, and a common story. Initiative and opportunity. As an opposing concept to aristocracy, those humble beginnings are a badge of honor, not something to hide.

In this first episode, a wealthy Brittish woman has a dream about her son being kidnapped, and an image of where he might be. She goes to Canada to Blair with her story. The indian assistant, Joe, warns it off as a bad place. After giving him a hard time, Joe takes Blair there. The local indians believed that a sacrifice of a white man would appease the bad spirits. Blair, with the help of a local indian maiden rescue the kidnapped man just in time.

Speculation on who the voice might be leads Lum and Abner back to wonder about Doc Withers. Is he becoming senile? Just how old is Ben Withers, and could Lum and Abner be far behind him in age? In the feed room, the gents find Doc packing his valice. Is he actually leaving town? Has the doctor’s feelings been hurt? What has happened to change doc? Ben Withers shares a secret, he’s not really a vetinarian. Does he deserve the title of doc that he has gone by all this time? Feeling inadequate, Doc wants to move along, but Lum extends a place in the store and restaurant to work. Will he stay, or will he leave?

The McGees recieve a package from the Bon Ton Department store. It’s an umbrella stand. The Old Timer arrives to interupt Fibbers rant over the stand, and his desire to take it back. The old gent tells about the event that changed his life, and share some poetry. Billy Mills plays, Toot Toot Tootsi Goodbye. Before heading out the door, Mayor Latrivia stops in and gets flusterd over a confusing statement by Fibbers. The McGees are trying to take back their stand. Kingsmen sing, Never Have the Time. Doc Gamble is out shopping, but pauses long enough to swap insults, until he is paged. Fibber gets fed up with the store management, but will he get his umbrella stand exchanged?

Squire and Lum talk about Abner and why he hired Cedric as his bodyguard. Are they any closer to figuring out who the Voice might be? What strange antics are Abner and Cedric up to as they move stealthily through town? Though he’s in disguise, Abner isn’t fooling anybody. Abner has news from the grapevine that disaster is planned by the Voice. He also tells about how Cedric hasn’t left his side, even when Abner is at home. The gents tell about how Lum lost the contract for the bus traffic to Luke Spears Lunchroom. When a thunderstorm kicks up, the thunder has Lum and Abner jumping as if it were gunshots. Will there be any threats from the Voice that come to be? Abner is suspected by Squire to be the mysterious voice. The secret of why he has been seen skulking around with Cedric has been learned. But if Abner isn’t the voice, then who is?

Don goes into flashback mode to Jack’s house where the gang are getting ready for Easter, and waiting for guest, Van Johnson to appear. Rochester goes to make a phone call to se what is holding up Van Johnson. What is the delay? Cut to another scene where Mary picks up Van in her car. She’s taking the scenic route so all the ladies can see her out with him. Back at jacks, Don plugs a magazine article about himself. Not to be outdone, Jack puts in a plug for an upcoming appearance. Van arrives and meets the cast. Phil and Van compare notes on picking up girls. Dennis drops a few jokes about his parents. Jack and Van talk about what salary to pay Van. Van holds his ground, and the jokes turn to comparing Van’s style of lady killing to Jacks ability at it. Jack offers his best tips on girls, and dating. Then just to prove how it’s done, Jack sets Van up with a blind date with the phone operators. Imagine the operators surprise to have a date with Van. Imagine Van’s surprise at the kind of dates that Jack got for him. They go into Cerro’s and Jack shows Van a good time. Van even sings, It’s Magic. And with a little accompaniment from his date. The dancing and dating jokes keep up, and Van’s song is reprised as the sponsor commercial. Finally it’s time to order some dinner. When a phone call comes in for Van do you think he would want to leave all this fun to take it? It’s also a chance for the two guys to pull a last prank on their dates.

This show is missing the second half, which has the title bit about the drugstore. Here’s what’s in the show: Don comments on Jack’s recent birthday. Though he tries to avoid the topic, to the observant listener, Jack actually reveals his age. He’s 42, see if you can spot his admission. The running gag about the new contest shows up again throughout the show. The cast talk about their activities while being back in New York. Kenny sings, Moon Over Miami. After another attempt at describing the contest, Jack reads fan mail. Mary types a return letter at Jack’s dictation. Johnny plays, but he, and the show is suddenly cut off with a station air check.

Doctor Kildare is absent from Blaire General hospital, and Coc Gillespie knows where to go to find him. With both medical men absent, Doctor Carew goes to round them up and corral them back to their jobs, but he’s a little mistaken on who lead who astray. Getting down to business we find Mr Mallory, and his medical ailments. Listen to the symptoms, and make your diagnosis of the house painter. Of course, you could take the easy way out and read the show title to know that he has lead poisoning. What will the doctors do about curing Mr Mallory? First, they go to his boss to encourage him to take better preventive measures for a safe work environment. As for Mallory himself, the treatment is fairly simple, just a good change to his diet to flush out the lead from his system. Since the poisoning came about from chronic exposure, the real cure is in convincing the construction foreman in using safeguards for his men, and not being so caught up in his deadline in getting his job done. Will the busy boss listen, or will Kildare and Gillespie have to get rough and call in the state board of health? The two doctors are giving access to the job site, and they review whether any corners are being cut. Things seem OK, so the problem is in how Mallory, and his co-worker Watson became affected. It seems to be related to being on rush jobs. Join in to see how Kilare discovers the cause, and what he can do about it.

Eddie Burke was given a bogus story that a dame left a package for safekeeping, and now Richard is having trouble convincing Eddie that he knows nothing about it. All it costs him is a thump on the head. It’s time to compare notes with his policeman friend, Walt, and Richard learns that it involves a counterfeiting ring. Why did the dame point the finger at Richard? He hits the street to learn the answer to that question. The sultry dame makes an appearance, but so does a body. Who killed Eddie Burke? Walt warns Richard that he’s going to have to act fast on an uphill battle to learn how his own gun became the murder weapon. Before you know it, Richard finds himself in a nest of gangsters. How is he going to get out of this one? It takes a little charm, but he survives for another evening of music and romance with Hellen.
