As soon as we began planning CH Zambia we started collecting vintage safari jackets. When our friend Geren Lockhart, the LA-based designer behind Geren Ford, decided to join us on the trip we started talking about creating an awesome safari jacket. Realizing that creating a new jacket for both men and women in so many sizes in such a small run was going to cost a small fortune, Geren came up with the brilliant idea of making custom jackets for everyone from repurposed vintage safari gear—each tailored to a fellow traveler and one-of-a-kind. In this video we follow Geren from her LA studio to Africa to see her design process and the jackets in action.

The first thing we wanted to ensure on our recent Cool Hunting Edition: Photo Safari in Zambia was that we were able to take great photographs. We needed binoculars and a lot of camera equipment, but more importantly we wanted to have a professional photographer along with us to help us get the most out of our gear and to learn how to take the best pictures possible under these special conditions. Pentax was a perfect partner for us because their cameras and lenses are easy to use and create high quality images. With the help of professional adventure photographer Kerrick James and equipment provided by Pentax, including the K-30, the K-01 and the Optio WG-2, everyone got a hands on experience taking photos in the bush. In this video we look at Pentax's role in our trip and how Kerrick helped our participants and the students at Mfuwe's local school master the art of taking pictures. The photographic experience became core to our safari, and Pentax graciously offered the camera of choice to everyone on the trip and several cameras with the school.

It's well known that hiding behind the facades of many buildings in Brooklyn, NY are an endless array of companies producing artisanal pickles and locally designed clothes but rarely can you wander down a street to find a product being made out on the concrete. DL Skateboards is a unique young company that makes custom, handmade skate decks on the sidewalk outside a Greenpoint apartment building and in a retrofitted box truck acquired in New Hampshire. The couple behind the brand, Lauren Andino and Derek Mabra, have been skateboarding most of their lives and their passion and love for the sport drive their small business forward, producing fantastic cruisers modeled after 60's classics. In our latest video we found the couple out on the street shaping decks for one of their final runs before moving to California.

For our latest video we took a trip down to Buenos Aires to see the second exhibition of the new Faena Arts Center. We spoke with the center's executive director, Ximena Caminos, about the need for freedom in art, the opportunities the center has with their newly space, and the opportunities they have to promote both established and emerging Argentinian artists.

Based on the original Generation model the ReGeneration strived to achieve the same comfort and practicality while greatly reducing environmental impact through material reduction and thoughtful consideration at each step of production.

For our latest video, we drove through the desolate corridor of I-5 to the outskirts of Los Angeles to visit ICON, California's premiere builder of custom trucks. Newest in the line-up, the ICON Bronco takes the body of a classic 1970s Ford Bronco and rebuilds it from the ground up. All ICON's trucks maintain the personality of the originals but add new technology to make driving easier. We spoke with ICON founder Jonathan Ward about the new trucks, what makes his process possible and what it takes to construct a vehicle by hand in LA.

Hidden on a back street in Oakland, California in an unassuming warehouse lies what may be the pinnacle of denim craftsmanship in the USA. Roy Denim is actually just one man, Roy Slaper, whose obsession with making jeans has driven his small business into the conciseness of denim heads everywhere. We took a trip to the Mission District in San Francisco, California to talk to Michael Shindler, co-founder of Photobooth. Photobooth serves as both a retail space for classic camera gear, a gallery and most interesting a tintype portrait studio. We talked to Michael about the ins and outs of the tintype process, and the old school methods used to create the stunning portraits.

We spoke with founder Peter D'Amato about his personal history with these hungry plants, their cultural significance and what it takes to raise up fantastical plants from seed.
