Savannah, Georgia may be more well-known for its BBQ, but students attending the Savannah College of Art and Design have helped redefine the Southern city as an artistic hub. In response to its burgeoning local music scene, earlier this year Savannah hosted dozens of bands for a three-day music fest leading up to SXSW. Savannah Stopover, as it's called, brought us down too and in this video we check in with groups from Brooklyn ( Das Racist and Class Actress) as well as The Shaniqua Brown, who hail from Charleston, SC, to learn about life on the road.

For our latest video we took a trip to Plymouth, England to pay a visit to Plymouth Gin. Master distiller Sean Harrison showed us around the 213 year-old facility where we gained some insight into the history, recipe and process that goes into producing the fine spirit. The oldest operating distillery in England, Plymouth has stayed true to their recipe throughout their long history, the guiding hand of each successive master distiller keeping the character alive by maintaining the flavors that define the liquor.

Nestled in a hidden location in midtown Manhattan, the Counjuring Arts Research Center is ground zero for illusionists and historians alike. The Center provides a range of services, publishes scholarly journals, and teaches hospital-bound kids magic through its Hocus Pocus program. It is perhaps best known as home to one of the largest known collections of historic books, letters, and other media, which the center makes available online.

Curious about what has kept the line going strong throughout its gradual expansion, for this video we sat down with Touitou to find out.

Dedicated to reviving this lost art, she founded the Iznik Training and Education Foundation. It took around ten years for the Foundation, along with a host of government, preservation, research and university partners, to determine what made the tiles so unusual, to recreate the lengthy handmade production process, train local artisans and construct a manufacturing facility. Today the Iznik Foundation creates tiles for repair and restoration of historical buildings, pubic works (including large murals in Istanbul's subway stations) and for private use.

On a recent trip to Mexico City we had the chance to stop by the Zona Maco Art Fair to check out what's happening south of the border. We explored some great galleries, saw some fantastic work, and one piece that jumped out immediately was by London-based artist Martin Creed called "Untitled" from 2010. We had a chance to discuss it with one of the gallery reps at Hauser and Wirth to get some insight on the scope of the work, as well as the importance of having a presence in the Southern Hemisphere. In this video we catch up with Emma Hawkins, co-curator of the 2010 Hawkins Zoomorphic Collection exhibit in London. Put together in association with her father J.B. Hawkins, a 40-year-veteran of the antique industry, the collection contains over 200 animal objects, from hummingbird jewelry to a bull head snuff box. Here Emma shows off some prime examples of functional and entertaining taxidermy that has lasted into the 21st century.

This video catches up with Jill at her Crosby Street space as she works on her current collection to learn more about how she started and what informs her work.

We traveled to beautiful Neuchatel, Switzerland to learn the history of Marvin Watches, a brand celebrating it's 160th birthday and its re-introduction to consumers. Once one of the largest watchmakers in Switzerland the company suffered at the end of the last century, and was resurrected by husband and wife team Cecile and Jean-Daniel Maye eight years ago. Their hard work has paid off, and Marvin Watches was just launched in the U.S. and most European markets in October 2010. Cecile shares Marvin's story and walks us through the year-long process of making a watch. Celebrated watch designer Sebastian Perret has been instrumental in Marvin's renaissance, and he shares his process for creating a watch from sketch to prototype. While we were at Marvin we worked with Cecile and Sebastien to design our "Toujours Plus" Malton 160 Cushion, a Cool Hunting Edition collaboration.

"Some people like taking their time," says Kim Rugg, whose artistic achievements are measured in millimeters, spent X-ACTO blades and picas. We spent the afternoon with Rugg in her London home and studio talking about her work re-imagining newspapers, comics, stamps and cereal boxes using their existing form while rearranging their content. Kim finds inspiration from the mundane and common objects around us. Her wicked knife skills and tenacious attention to detail have create a body of work that is as impressive as it is curious.
