On this episode of Total iPad, Jennifer and I discuss the FBI having millions of Apple UDID numbers or did they? We also discuss some of the upcoming changes to iOS 6 and what that means for the new iPad. Been in a Best Buy lately? Noticed that the tablet section is almost as big as the laptop section? Thank Apple for that. They took a dead tablet market and evolved it into what we have today, the future of computing. Show Notes: AntiSec hackers leak 1,000,001 Apple device IDs allegedly obtained from FBI breach Apple says that it did not give the FBI any UDIDs, and that it’s banning them anyway Here’s how to check if your Apple device UDID has been compromised by the AntiSec leak FBI Issues Denial About Leaked UDID List Twitter Refusing to Hand Over Tweets in Occupy Trial iOS 6 Preview App Picks: Drafts for iPad - Agile Tortoise Drafts Review Drafts Demo Video Terminology - Agile Tortoise Frenzic - The Iconfactory Tip: Increase text size in Mail.app

Increase text size in iPad mail | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 2:02

This is just a quick video tip on how to change the text size in the Mail app on your iPad. A few days ago my mother asked me if there was a way to increase the text size so that she didn't have to 'outward squeeze' each individual email message. Of course there is a way I told her, it is as simple as: Open the Settings app on your iPad Tap General in the left panel Navigate to Accessibility in the right panel Tap on Large Text Choose your desired text size Now when you open your Mail app you should see the enlarged text displayed on your iPad.     Do you have an iPad tip, need help, or have a question?  Drafts for iPad – Video Demo | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 11:02

I decided to do a video demo/review of Drafts for iPad. I like Drafts so much that I plan on doing a series of workflow videos showing how I use Drafts on my iPad on a day to day basis. I also bought Drafts for my iPhone last night so I may do some workflow videos on how I move content from device to device. After 1 week of using Drafts it has become one of my favorite applications on my iPad. I will be talking about Drafts more in-depth on the weekly Total iPad podcast. If you have not already read my written review of Drafts, do so now: Drafts for iPad. If you have a question or comment, try me on Twitter @iCrizzo.

 Sumo.FM for iPad (review) | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 8:12

Sumo.FM is a terrific art application for the iPad. I am not a very artistic individual but I do love to doodle on my iPad from time to time. I own quite a few 'art' apps on my iPad and most of those apps are more expensive or include a ton of in-app purchases that force me to pay a lot more money to unlock the full app. WIth Sumo.FM you pay $1.99 and you get the full application. In-app purchases may come at a later date, I have no knowledge of that but as it stands now you pay 1 time and unlock the full application. For a full demonstration of Sumo.FM please watch the video above. Sumo.FM supports full Retina resolution so your creations look beautiful on the 3rd generation iPad. Sumo.FM features a ton of artistic brushes that require no drawing skill at all, setup your brushes and begin creating what you envision. For further proof that I have no artistic skill or the fact that you do not need artistic skill to create a masterpiece check out my gallery below that features a few of my creations. Sumo.FM features a full color palette that allows you to choose a full range of colors for your different brushes. The app also features 40 brushes that allows you to adjust the settings for each brush or use the preset brushes. The adjustments you can make to each brush is as follows: Spacing Angle Auto Orient Auto Size Gravity Scattering Angle Size You may also adjust the size of the brush from 0%-100% for the thickness and the opacity of the ink from 0%-100%. You can also choose to multiply your brush from 1 to 32, what I mean by multiply for example is if you choose the 'foot' brush and have it set to 5, when you paint you will get 5 'feetprint' on screen instead of 1 footprint.   Sumo.Fm is built with studio-grade OpenGL® based Sumoing™ Painting Engine. New Featured Brushes: + Zebra Brush - The stroke is filled with black and white stripes of variable size + DNA - keeps rotating infinitely like a DNA sequence + Color Circus - Fills the stroke with endless stream of random colors + Smoke - Emulates the appearance of thin and soft smoke + Balloons - Blows a continuous stream of smooth and round balloons Download Sumo.FM on your iPad: Sumo.Fm - Sumoing Ltd Sumo.Fm art gallery Developer Website

Total iPad Interview – Derek Ross | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:57

I sat down this past week with Derrick Ross of Android Authority and Jennifer Ruggiero my co-host on Total iPad and we discussed the Nexus 7 tablet. It seems Android has finally caught up to iOS in user experience as far as scrolling and smoothness of the UI is concerned thanks to Jelly Bean. I will admit I am also intrigued with the smaller form factor and currently the iPad 'Air' is only a rumor at the moment. I do currently have 2 Android devices in my possession and I have owned several other devices as well, 6 in total. Even though I am a proud iPad owner I will be dammed if Derrick didn't make me want to buy a Nexus 7 by the end of the show. I started out wanting to compare the iPad to the Nexus 7, but even as Derek points out during the conversation they seem to be 2 different devices and probably not a good comparison. So the conversation was mostly about the Nexus 7 which was perfectly fine with me, I am an iPad guy but I am also intrigued by other devices as well. I hope this discussion will help those on the ropes about which tablet to buy and even though we don't go into great detail about the iPad, I have an entire site dedicated to just about everything there is to know about the iPad. So listen to the discussion and when you are done if you decide the Nexus 7 is not right for you then check out Total iPad for everything you could ever want to know about the iPad. I would like to thank Derek for taking the time to join Jennifer and I, if you are looking for more great Android discussion and links then you should circle Derek on his Google+ Profile. You can also circle Jennifer and I on Google+ as well: Christopher Jennifer You can read all about the Nexus 7 here.

Road Inc. – Legendary Cars (review) | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 11:03

Road Inc. - Legendary Cars by Pyrolia1 is an interactive anthology of classic cars designed specifically for the iPad. This is a beautiful application for the iPad, if you are a classic car enthusiast and you are wanting a highly detailed and interactive application for your iPad then look not further. Road Inc. includes 50 automobiles, 50 detailed fact sheets, 200 pages of original writing, 500 photographs, 180 press cuttings, 40 maintenance manuals and 75 video extracts. When I say this app is highly detailed I mean it, there is a ton of information in this application that will keep you busy for weeks at a time. This application is presented with stunning 3D models and illustrations, it also includes over 50 soundtracks to make your viewing of these awesome cars more enjoyable. I want to note a couple of things, with all the information that this app comes with you will need to be careful with downloading too many vehicles at once in the app. The downloads take about 1-2 minutes with each of the downloads including data such as the engine sounds, manuals, photos, spec sheets, advertisements, yearbooks, blueprints and more. That is nice but if you do not have much space on your iPad it will start to use up valuable storage space on your iPad, so just be cautious with downloading too many vehicles at once. You can always download 1 car, read over the info then delete that vehicle and download another. If you delete a vehicle you always have the option of re-downloading that vehicle at a later date. Manage your storage wisely. Honestly this feel more like an interactive digital book rather than an app. That is a good thing though because you are getting your money's worth with everything that comes with this app. The apps UI is a little funny to navigate with at first but if you tap the '?' icon in the top right of the app and read how the navigation settings work you will start to get the hang of it. There are a ton of little 'dots' all over the app that when you tap on them reveal more information about the vehicles such as images and videos. So if you take the time to read the 'how to' for the app you will begin to enjoy the fact that all these little details are hidden for a reason and the interface is designed beautifully as it allows the images or content on screen to remain the focal point. Watch my demo video above to get a better feel for everything this app features. After you watch the video head over to the App Store and download Road Inc. I am sure you will enjoy this app as much as I have. Features: 50 landmark automobile models to unveil and explore, from the Ford T to the Bugatti Veyron. An interactive 3D museum tour allowing to explore every single angle of 50 road icons. Over 3,000 Archival documents including brochures, yearbooks, blueprints, adverts, plans, press articles and more... Over 70 videos including race archives, interviews, commercials and more... More than 350 high definition studio photographs from the most acclaimed automotive photographers More than 100 roaring engine sounds for the full experience Over 350 pages of original in-depth feature essays AirPlay support for videos, music & engine sounds(streams audio directly to your Hi-Fi speakers or Apple TV) Social content-sharing features (Facebook, Twitter, email) If you are unsure about paying $1.99 for this app, check out the free 'lite' version of the app: Road Inc. Legendary cars - Free Edition If you have a comment or question about this application send me a message via Twitter @iCrizzo. You can also follow Total iPad on Twitter @totalipad. 1 Currently this app is $1.99, the normal price for the app when it is not on sale is $6.99.

 Haiku Deck | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 7:50

Haiku Deck by Giant Thinkwell is a terrific new application for the iPad that allows you to create beautiful keynote presentations. I first discovered Haiku Deck on Google+ in a post by Robert Scoble. I went and downloaded the application and was immediately happy I did. This is a great new application and could possibly replace Keynote for me on my iPad. The app allows you to search the web for beautiful hi-res creative commons images using keywords or you can log in and insert photos from Facebook, Flickr, Instagram or Picasa. You can also insert images stored on your iPad in the camera roll if you give the app permission to access your location services. The app features 5 free themes to use for creating your presentation, each of the themes will also apply an image filter to the background photo but that can be toggled on or off. The text on the presentation can be adjusted to different positions on the presentation and you can add a title plus tagline to each slide. There are also several in-app purchases available for this application. The IAP are for new themes that you can use with each slide, they are $1.99 individually or you can purchase the entire theme pack for $14.99. There are 11 themes in total that can be purchased. While the app is free to use the in-app purchases help support the developer to continue developing this application. If you enjoy the app I encourage you to show your support and purchase a couple of the themes. Haiku Deck is a terrific presentation application for the iPad, please watch my demo video of Haiku Deck and then go download it for yourself.
