William M. Baum received his A.B. in psychology from Harvard College in 1961. Originally a biology major, he switched into psychology after taking courses from B. F. Skinner and R. J. Herrnstein in his freshman and sophomore years. He returned to Harvard University for graduate study in 1962, where he was supervised by Herrnstein and received his Ph.D. in 1966. He spent the year 1965-66 at Cambridge University, studying ethology at the Sub-Department of Animal Behavior. From 1966 to 1975, he held appointments as post-doctoral fellow, research associate, and assistant professor at Harvard University. He spent two years at the NIH Laboratory for Brain, Evolution, and Behavior and then accepted an appointment in psychology at University of New Hampshire in 1977. He retired from there in 1999. He currently has an appointment as Associate Researcher at University of California, Davis and lives in San Francisco. His research concerns choice, molar behavior-environment relations, foraging, and behaviorism. He is the author of a book, Understanding Behaviorism: Behavior, Culture, and Evolution. Naomi has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize three times and is the recipient of the 2009 Obama Millennium Poetry award for “Madelyn Dunham, Passing On.” Patricia Damery is an analyst member of the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco in private psychotherapy practice in Napa, California, where she and her husband also farm a Biodynamic organic ranch. She has published numerous articles and poems, as well as a book detailing her analytic training and simultaneous entry into Biodynamic farming: Farming Soul: A Tale of Initiation. Her novel, Snakes, the story about the demise of the family farm and the impact on one family, was published by Fisher King Press in March 2011. She is co-editing an anthology, Marked by Fire: Personal Stories of the Jungian Way, to be published March 2012. Her children’s novel, Goatsong, is also be published in the spring of 2012. In addition to her work as a therapist and an author, Holli enjoys speaking at workshops and conferences. In additional to speaking to a variety of audiences, for the past two years, Holli has been a peer presenter at the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists’ Annual Conferences speaking on the topics of betrayal and cyber bullying. At the 2012 Annual Conference, Holli will again address the issue of cyber bullying with an emphasis on protection, intervention, and prevention. Dr. Phillips has led workshops on hypnosis, psychotherapy, the effects of childhood trauma, and reversing chronic pain in the U.K., Germany, Scandinavia, France, Japan, China, and Malaysia, and uses of energy therapies in mindbody healing.
