Gear Chat Before we get rolling with our interview with Michael, we start the show off with a little bit of gear chat and Mac’s mini rant. It’s About Time Michael has been absolutely wonderful to our show, listening to us yap since the beginning, and we cannot thank him enough for his support. To have him finally on the show was pretty special to us, and we had such a good time chatting with him. Please have a listen and get to know a little more behind the photographic mind of Michael Van der Tol. Update: we were lucky enough to have Michael back on the show in November 2013! We caught up with the happenings in his photography life as well as discussed travel photography, something Michael knows very well! Please have a listen and check out our latest chat w/ Michael! Bits ‘n Bites Are you planning to grope the Canon M or Fuji X-E1 when they hit the shelves in your neck of the woods? What do you think about selling gear you are no longer using on a regular basis?  Episode 42 ~ Sharing, Printing, and Selling - Shutter Time With Sid and Mac | Photography Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:56

Mmmm, Fresh Gear Before we dive in the ol’ SPS pool (that’s Sharing, Printing, and Selling), we have to chat about some fresh gear. Nikon announced their new Nikkor 70-200mm f/4 G ED VR AF-S, but what really caught my interest was a tweet from the fine folks at Borrow Lenses! Spotting a Canon lens in the wild is exciting for those of us who haven’t heard anything about this particular lens since last year. Oh, mama. Making Some Cash Because this is a more lengthly topic, after a little gear speculation and swoon, we go straight for the goods, and the pros and cons of sharing, printing and selling! While there are many options out there, we chose 6 companies and did a little research on the benefits of using these methods t0 get a little coin for your hard camera work. Have a listen, take some notes and see what best works for you! Bits n’ Bites Are you interested in the new Nikon and Canon lenses? Are you members of any of the orgs we discussed on the show? If so, link us up and show off your work and please let us know how the sites are working for you. As always, we’re on Facebook, Twitter, G+ and iTunes! Thanks as always for tuning in. Holding Hands Before we start yapping about third party lenses, we have to say, it’s been a nice change of pace to see photographers coming together, whether just for friendly chit chat when out shooting or to band together for a passionate project. Therefore, we briefly chat about the goodness of all things photographers. Aw.  It’s A Party, Yo! Maybe not the kind of party you were hoping for, but we discuss the pros of looking outside of the norm and using third party lenses, as well as swapping out different brand lenses on different bodies. What, Canon on Nikon? Say it isn’t so! Bits ‘n Bites Come on over and hangout on Facebook, where Mac and others will critique images for the sake of good ol’ photography conversation. We’re also on Google +, The Twitters, you can leave a comment here, and of course, you can subscribe for free on iTunes. Tell us what’s on your mind, would ya? Thanks as always for tuning in.  Episode 36 ~ Mirrorless Backyard Olympiad - Shutter Time With Sid and Mac | Photography Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:27

Olympic Hard Bodies  The world has been tuning in for the past couple of weeks as elite athletes have been competing in their dedicated sports with the hopes to become Olympians. Of course, they are not the only ones competing. Canon and Nikon have jumped in, as always, and photo nerds have probably been skimming the official photographers’ area to see if the sea of glass is predominately white or black … because the Canon / Nikon debate never gets old, right? Wonder if any mirrorless cameras made the cut this year? Speaking of which … Um, Canon? We chat about Canon’s latest release, which took some of us by surprise. We also discuss the latest lens to accompany the Fuji X-Pro 1. Oh yeah! Hmmm, now whereabouts are those 1D-x bodies again, Canon?  Episode 35 ~ Moose Musings: Interview With Moose Peterson - Shutter Time With Sid and Mac | Photography Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:41:37

Moose Peterson, Y’all! We did it. We had wildlife / aviation photographer, Moose Peterson, visit the Shutter Time bunker for a chat. Seriously. Moose Peterson. Our listeners are well aware of my appreciation for Moose and not only his photography, but his dedication to preserving our wild heritage, which is so important to us all. Imagine my delight when he so graciously agreed to give us a couple hours of his time and have a chat about all things photography and wildlife. Even though we (okay, mostly me) were tongue-tied throughout much of the interview and stumbled a few times, his words were able to trump any of those moments. I’m not alone in my admiration, as Mac jumped on board as well after this interview. Moose is just that good; even boudoir, portrait and all other photographers will learn something from this podcast. Oh. Murphy.  I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment …. Mac and I have recorded dozens of shows and for the first time, we experienced sheer recording failure on 2/3 computers. Murphy and his law patiently waited, stalked and then pounced the moment we heard Moose say, “howdy folks!” Bear with us, as the audio isn’t at our usual best, but I’m thinking you will probably become lost in the interview and not even notice. Even Murphy’s Law couldn’t stop us, yo! Bits ‘n Bites This is not the time to be shy, y’all! What did you think of our chat with Moose? Did his words and passion resonate with you and how you view your photography? Are you a wildlife photographer or wildlife conservationist? Do tell! We’d love your feedback. As always, you can find us hanging around the web, such as Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, and of course, iTunes, where you can subscribe to the show for free. Thanks again to Moose for chilling with us, teaching us a few things and spreading the good word of photography. It was brilliant. Thanks for tuning in, folks!
