Last week, the LDS Church published a photo of one stone, likening it to Biblical objects that helped people “communicate spiritually.” Historians Matthew Bowman and Benjamin Park join us to explain how these types of objects were used in early 19th century America (it wasn’t just the Mormons). We’ll also ask what role these stones played in the development of Mormonism and what they tell us about the idea of revelation. An audio recording of a meeting held June 13th, 2015 in Boise, Idaho. Some are calling it, appropriately, "The Boise Rescue", like the attempted, but failed rescue and fiasco they tried over in Sweden, where they embarrassed themselves and didn't answer any questions. Dallin H Oaks and Richard E Turley Jr. spoke to a congregation about church history and apostasy. These type of attempts show just how pathetically desperate "the brethren" have become, in this time of great "apostasy"(Members leaving in droves because of THE TRUTH!), never seen since the days of Kirtland, according to Marlin K. Jensen. At least he was honest & then of course, promptly fired or I'm sorry, put on "emeritus status" immediately..LOL! Thank you Internet & to the person that recorded this!!

Popular Mormon podcaster John Dehlin will face a church disciplinary council sometime in the next 2 weeks to address allegations of apostasy. John's "court of love" was originally scheduled for January 25th, 2015. Dehlin joined Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about his faith and how he views dissent, doubt and discipline within the LDS Church. Apparently President King had some personally family matters that got in the way or he just got scared with all the bad publicity & got a call from Salt Lake..you decide! The Swedish Rescue- In March 2012, the LDS Church responded to the wave of apostasy affecting Swedish members, including several high-ranking LDS leaders. This was dubbed The Swedish Rescue by the Church. UPDATE: In August, 2013, the Church in Sweden has also instituted a modern-day 'School of the Prophets' to help prepare future leaders of Sweden. Preceding this, in November 2010, an emergency fireside was held in Stockholm Sweden by Elder Marlin Jensen (Church historian) and Elder Richard Turley (assistant Church historian) to address the faith crisis that ensued among an entire group of members and leaders in Stockholm Sweden including a stake president and a member of the Quorum of the Seventy (General Authority). About 25 Swedes attended this fireside including all the local bishops and stake presidents. Those in attendance were those that were knowledgeable about the Church historical issues that were troubling many Swedes. The Swedes formed their own local Mormon Stories group and had over 600 FaceBook members. They would openly discuss these issues amongst themselves. Former Seventy Hans Mattsson came forward with his story on John Dehlin's Mormon Stories podcast episodes #430-434. In part 4 of the podcast, Hans talks about this fireside.
