No Market Radio 0018 – Saved By Australia | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This podcast almost burned out. But it was saved by Australia! I couldn't find anyone to record a podcast with me. So, it started off being a sad solo show. I tried to fix it by playing around with reverb effects. It didn't really work. To help pass the time, I played a couple rounds of the game SongPop. Our song of the day turned out to be "Cumberland Gap" by Xiu Xiu: I read the names of the artists on this year's Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame nomination list. I also don't know who The Meters were. I read off a list of the most successful dead musicians. Erk saved our podcast when he called in via Skype. We talked a bit about the Evil Scarcrow song "Sixty-Six Minutes Past Six" by Evil Scarecrow: Erk listened to No Market Mixtape #3 while he was stuck in a traffic jam, which lead to his newfound enjoyment of drumming along to metal jams. Erk mentioned that there will be Australian race cars racing in the U.S. next year. The cars will be flown to America in converted jumbo jets. Erk and I covered a small controversy we had via Twitter in regards to my recent comments on music podcasting. But we hashed it out and now everything's cool. We also discussed my idea for a new music show. Erk asked me how I feel about this year's NaPodPoMo and how it compares to NaPod's of the past. We then talked about podcasting and podcasters who used to 'cast but don't do it anymore. Also, listening back to your own shows and using them as a personal audio time capsule.  No Market Radio 0017 – Tripod Sunday | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:35

The third podcast of the day! Another obligatory NaPodPoMo update. Also, not procrastinating. We were broadcasting live again on Livestream. But, to no one. I've decided it's time to rework the studio setup in the hopes of improving it. Jen always loves when this happens. We had a Skype video chat earlier in the day with some of Jen's family. It's fun living in the future. I played the new song by Rebecca Black for Jen to see if she could guess who it was doing the song: Then, we played our song of the day called "Rat Race" by Mind Museum: Before we wrapped up the show, I realized that I had the audio gear set incorrectly. Oops. Please leave us a comment below! Or send an e-mail to info(at)nomarket(dot)org. Please subscribe to the podcast thru either iTunes or RSS. Please follow No Market on Twitter.  No Market Radio 0016 – Not Aliens; Raptors | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:51

It's a Sunday solo show. The weather was beautiful today here in California, with a nice breeze blowing in off of the Pacific Ocean. Those winds will carry all of that pure, fresh ocean air over the rest of the continent, where it'll eventually be fouled up by the rest of the country's carbon emissions. Also, jetpack raptors with freeze rays. I gave an update on my NaPodPoMo progress. (I've been keeping track.) I talked about how there probably won't be any more mixtape episodes for awhile. I talked about an idea I have for a new music podcast. I got a tweet earlier today from Erk. He thinks I should do my own music podcast. I would like to do more live shows and I'd really like to add some cameras to the mix. I signed up No Market Radio for podcast statistics thru Blubrry. I played a clip from this video of Neil deGrasse Tyson debunking the 2012 "end of the world" thing: Matt said he listens to our podcast and Coast to Coast AM. Coast to Coast is weird. I had some comments on a recent discussion I listened to that included one of the producers of the Adam Carolla podcast. If you leave a comment below, you will be our greatest fan 4ever!  No Market Radio 0015 – A-Town Triple | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We recorded another car-based podcast while we drove (for the third time this week) to Atascadero. Jen got her writing work done early for today because she was anticipating being heavily stoned on allergy medication later in the day. There are a lot of bicyclists on California streets. Some of them want to die. Also, I never saw a road with a bike lane on it until I came to California. Also, LEGO's. During the last podcast I recorded, I mentioned that it must be hard to find singer/songwriter Laura Marie on Google. I was proven wrong. I've been using a USB gamepad with my iMac, thanks to a cool application called ControllerMate that makes it all work properly. Random commentary on cars and trucks on the road. (Lots of camper-trailers on the road.) I went into downtown San Luis Obispo on Black Friday. Not surprisingly, it was madness, wall-to-wall people. (Also, lunch at Louisa's Place.) Jen recounted the horrors of working retail on Black Friday. We talked about how Walgreens stores are always located on corners, and yet they're always difficult to get in and out of. On our drive home, Jen was looking kinda pale due to allergy overload. "Bennies and some Coke!" We live for your feedback! Leave us a comment below or send an e-mail to info(at)nomarket(dot)org.
