This Week in Toronto

This has to be one of the most scuffed podcasts ever. Right off the bat, 10 seconds in, there is already a connection drop that makes the intro sound awkward AF lol, discord decides to mute my mic on Terry's end here and there and Terry's Chinese phone-book WiFi makes it sound like he is muting himself after every sentences sometimes, but our smooth transitions make up for it, and make it that much more entertaining. Anyways, this week we talk about a report suggesting Ontario schools not doing enough to prepare students for jobs and adulthood, I speak on how my high school didn't care about me improving as a student, and Terry talks about his own experiences transitioning from high school to George Brown College. A 13 year old was joyriding and crashed onto the QEW, and now his friend has life threatening injuries, add this to the list as to why I'll probably never drive....a four year old girl was locked out of her school, and walked all the way home because the substitute teacher was unfamiliar with the child, Terry and I give our funny stories on our substitute teachers in class. And the TTC released a report showing in 2018 some employees refused or failed a drug test, among the failed ones were, Cocaine, Meth, Weed, and Opioids. Thanks for listening!  For this week's pod this episode is a SOLO show, Terry and I recorded the podcast the day before, and in the middle of it, my power went out, thus deleting an entertaining pod. Terry was busy tonight, so I decided to just do it solo as I did not want to delay the pod a few days later and definitely don't want to miss a week. Anyways, this week a Toronto auditor reported a $64M loss in revenue from fare evasion. As I dug deeper, this was the least of the of the TTC's worries as they have been operating at a loss for a number of years, and the numbers are quite staggering. An update on the amber alert tragedy involving the dad who killed his own daughter, died in hospital due to his self infliction, I speak on why I was happy to hear that news. And another drug bust in toronto has one man captive while the other two are still at large, and I talk about why drugs should be legalized. Thanks for listening! The stories this week are disturbing to say the least, an amber alert was sent out for an 11 year old girl who was abducted by her father that ended in tragedy, and I go off about the man y people were upset and complaining about being woken up, seriously?! A food delivery person was stabbed by two teenagers for some chicken wings, are people that poor and desperate? The woman who went viral throwing her chair off the condo balcony has been charged and faces sentencing, and a man has finally been caught and charged in three cold case homicides dating back to 1995, why did it take forever?  This week hasn't been good to us, I caught the flu and Terry's WiFi was laggy, thus postponing the episode two days later, we try to get through this pod as best we can, Lord help us. Anyway this week we talk about the viral video of a woman who threw a chair off the gardiner expressway, ontario is getting rid of the wait time for kids with autism, and I talk about my own experience with my learning disability and my appointments, serial killer Bruce McArthur gets life in prison, why I think the death penalty should be brought back, and the officer who interviewed him says that he is a scapegoat in all of this. And a man held two women against their will.
