What an awesome weekend! I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of Thunder Over Louisville, but it’s probably in the top 5 things our city is known for, but most people just don’t think of it. We have great things such as The Kentucky Derby, Bourbon, The Louisville Slugger Museum, and College Basketball, but Thunder probably isn’t known to too many folks outside the area. Each year at the start of the Derby season they put on an air show all day and finish it off with one of the largest fireworks shows in the country, FOR FREE. Almost a million people come down for it, and this year we had some of the best weather on record with sunny days and temps in the 70’s. It was awesome. Almost as good as being in Walt Disney World… almost. Let’s pick back up with our day in the Magic Kingdom. Remember, it’s a quiet day (a 3/10 on TouringPlans.com). In Memory 113, we got to spend some time taking pictures with some of our favorite Disney characters. We met Daisy, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald all with just a short amount of time. But now the kids are hungry, so let’s see if we can get into the newly opened Be Our Guest Restaurant. Ah Spring has finally sprung. The weather is warmer and the Orioles lead the AL east. Granted, they’ve played one game at the time of this recording, but the season has started and I’m excited about how Spring Training went and where we might be headed this year. But this isn’t a baseball podcast, this is a Walt Disney World Memory podcast, and we should get back to our trip from September 2013. Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. What a great trip! We had so much fun. We did get to spend two days at Walt Disney World with one day at the Magic Kingdom and one day at Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. While the weather on the second day wasn’t the greatest, it was still much better than what my friends back home were experiencing. But we’ll get to relive those days in the future. Today, let’s continue with our trip from September 2013.  Memory 111 - Reliving a day at the Magic Kingdom: Part 3, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and Meet Ariel at Her Grotto | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 2821

Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. One more week and I’m off to Florida. Traci and I have decided to take advantage of two small children and no school commitments yet and are heading to Florida for some fun in the sun. That means more days in the parks that we’ll get to relive together. Even more exciting, we’re venturing outside the Magic Kingdom on this trip. We’re planning to spend two days this time, day one (March 4) will be at the Magic Kingdom and day two (March 6) will be at Epcot. Our day at the Magic Kingdom is supposed to be a 5 according to Touring Plans, but we’ll do what we can to reduce our waits by using the Lines app by Touring Plans, and we should actually get some good use out of it this time. Our day at Epcot however should be even easier as Touring Plans has it as a 3 on their crowd calendar, meaning we shouldn’t have to wait too much. The main reason for Epcot this time though is Flower and Garden festival which we haven’t been to since 2005, so Traci and Susie are super excited about this one. We might even be able to get Grandma and Grandpa to join us for this one. So as you can see plans are coming together fast and furious. In the mean time, we’ll go continue our day in the Magic Kingdom. This time we’ll go see Ariel in all of her forms at the Magic Kingdom. Alright I’m done with the snow already. Yesterday was the first time I actually took off for snow here this year, but it’s really starting to wear on me. So much so that I have talked my wife into a spring trip to our favorite warm destination Florida, and probably a day at Walt Disney World, specifically to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to the warmth of the sun, the smell of the flowers, and the hopefully lower crowds the first week of March (Touring Plans has it at like a 5 that week). But for now we’re going back to our day at the Magic Kingdom series as we continue our morning.  Memory 109 - Reliving a day at the Magic Kingdom: Part 1, Arriving | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1929

Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. Happy New Year! I trust everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and new year. It was fun for me. Susie and Mikey are growing up so fast, and watching them soak in all the holiday fun was something I will forever treasure and store away in those special memories. Speaking of memories, I’m sorry I have been missing this past month. Work reached a boiling point, and projects I was working on for Christmas became highest priority, so that left me with little time to get to my other hobbies. But I haven’t forgotten about the show. But that said, I’ve been thinking long and hard about this, and we’re going to evolve the show a little bit. In the past I sought requests of shows from you, and now that we’ve covered a good majority of what I have or we have done, I think I want to change things up a bit. So how many of you are familiar with Window to the Magic’s WTTM24? I’m going to do something similar, not 24 hours and not non-stop, but just release my days in the parks in segments. There have been many requests to just listen in as I wander around the parks, so this will allow us to do some of that too. I’ll probably not include sections of the day where we are in the restrooms, dealing with the kids, or maybe even eating, but for the most part you will be able to join us as we spend our day in the parks in roughly 30 minute segments. And if you were to put these shows back-to-back-to-back, you would almost be able to recreate our entire day in Walt Disney World. So let’s get things started shall we. Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. So is anyone else confused? Did we miss Thanksgiving? Why are we already focused on Christmas? Maybe because there is so much money to be made right? Well I’m going to take this moment and be thankful. You know what I’m thankful for? My God. My wife and children. My Friends My country and the freedoms it gives me. Music. A place like Walt Disney World where I can go escape from reality and surround myself with pure joy and happy memories. Listeners and friends like you that also love to talk and share your Disney magic wherever you are. Thanksgiving is special in its own way and should not be missed I think. One more thing I’m thankful for are the Cast Members in the parks. Today we’re going to take down the curtain a bit and get to see some of the work that goes into creating a show. Today we’re going back to catch the Pocahontas and her Forest Friends Animal Training show. Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. I need an escape, how about you? It just seems like these past couple of weeks have been brutal, both at work and in the world in general. I want to escape to a happy place, and what better than a vacation in the happiest place on earth Walt Disney World. One of my favorite things to do while visiting the parks is to watch Fireworks. Every trip I take now to the parks ends with Fireworks if possible. If the park I’m in doesn’t have fireworks that evening, I’ll park hop somewhere just to be able to see fireworks.  Memory 105 - Legend of The Lion King | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1821

Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. Ok, fall is officially here. The leaves are changing to beautiful colors here in Kentucky, the heater is on in the house, and the World Series of Baseball has begun. Yeah, my Orioles didn’t make the post season, but this is still top quality baseball that is worth watching, even if you’re daydreaming about being in Walt Disney World. Sometimes when I daydream about being back in the Magic Kingdom, I’ll revisit those memories of attractions that were retired, attractions like The Legend of The Lion King, which used to run in the Fantasyland Theater. You know, the place where Mickey’s Philharmagic now lives? So right now, I don’t have a request I can fulfill (hint hint: great time to send your request in), so I got to choose. So I started going back through my older recordings to see what I might not have shared at all yet and I came across Legend of The Lion King.
