About a week ago, the world of meteorology lost someone very special. For over three decades, television meteorologist Bruce Schwoegler informed and entertained New England with great weather wisdom and wit. Not only was Bruce a great TV and weather mentor, he was a good friend. When I started WeatherJazz® some seventeen years ago, Bruce was one of my very first guests. I'd like to play part of that interview today as a way of honoring the memory of someone who made tracking wacky New England weather loads of fun. You can also see the story that ran on WBZ-TV-4, Boston, honoring Bruce on WeatherJazz.com on the post for Episode #358. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/andrebernier/support
After exploring some of the basics of our home planet, it's time to concentrate on those elements of Earth that are so finely tuned that life would not be possible if any one of them was thrown out of whack. This wraps up our look at Earth. Next week, we begin a short series on Earth's moon to wrap up the entire solar system's study. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/andrebernier/support

How do our shopping routines and choices change when the weather gets hot and sticky? Some of the answers are not a surprise, but a few of them might be! I spoke briefly to a local grocery store employee about those things he observed when the weather gets sultry. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/andrebernier/support

Today's episode features an abridged version of Chapter 2 of Alex Price's book, Never Give Up. I had the privilege of meeting Alex last Sun day when he surprised me with a visit at New Promise Church in Kirtland, a church at which I am serving as interim pastor. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/andrebernier/support
Wanting to leave extra time to cover our favorite planet, Earth, I skipped Earth as we jumped from Venus to Mars this spring. After taking a deeper dive into what makes our favorite star, the sun, work, it's time to see what makes our planetary home so amazing and unique. I'll cover the basics first as a firm foundation for upcoming Science Wednesday episodes. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/andrebernier/support

A few weeks ago, one of my "lifer friends," Bob Gilmore, sent me a radio air check of a college radio show I did at my college in Vermont in 1980. My attention was grabbed by a song that I did not recognize. Worse yet, Shazam couldn't tell me what it was either! Leave it to a teenager to solve the mystery. Let me play DJ and spin that record for you. Plus, I'll read Chapter 1 of a wonderful book authored by Alex Price. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/andrebernier/support
