It’s Motivational Monday, and National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day, which means it’s time for a little history. Did you know that the first Walton-owned grocery store was the epitome of a Mom and Pop-owned business? Sam and Helen Walton worked to open Walton’s 5&10 in 1950 on the Bentonville square. It’s grown a bit since then! Our first Associate Caller of the Day was Maxwell from Store 1294 in Marian, Indiana. He gave a shoutout to his hardworking apparel team! In news, Antonio discussed a couple whose wedding photos had a special guest, after Denzel Washington happened onto their photoshoot! Could he be Antonio’s uncle? The Social Media Highlight of the Day went to Barb at Store 1521 in Cincinnati, Ohio, who is moving away after 20 years with her store! Rachel from Store 1772 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, was our Associate of the Day. She gave a big shoutout to Harley. Mary from Store 2758 in Plymouth, New Hampshire, is a former ZP Challenge winner, and she called in to say hello. So we convinced her to play Yes or No Way Bo. Bo and Iyube discussed a British survey that asked who we should choose to lead humanity in the event of an alien invasion. The number one answer was Arnold Schwarzenegger, and we think that’s a strong choice. In Milestone Minute, Martha, Barry and Gail celebrated 30 years! Here’s to the next 30! Bo also talked with Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak about their new joint group, Silk Sonic. It was music to our ears. Today was National Green Energy Day, and by “green energy” we mean St. Patrick’s Day! Bo wants to know if it’s Saint Patrick’s Day or Saint Patty’s Day, and we have customer Gina from Ohio and associate Gisele from Store 2195 in Howell Township, New Jersey, to thank for calling in to settle the dispute once and for all. Matt from Store 558 in Salina, Kansas, was our Associate Caller of the Day. He called in with a spirited round of shoutouts for everyone at his store. Logan from Store 1657 in Faribault, Minnesota, called in to shout out his OGP crew, and told us his coach Kevin has been telling him for months to call the show and request a certain song that may knock you down, but is sure to get you up again. It had everyone Tubthumping. Jason from Store 3405 in Dallas, Georgia, cracked the Detective Product case, and Brittany from Martinez, California, will go down in history as our first ever Member Caller of the Day. Bo loved watching the Grammys and discussed that even though Beyonce now has the most Grammys of any performer, her daughter, Blue Ivy, is wasting no time catching up, winning her first Grammy at the age of 9. Tomorrow is National Johnny Appleseed Day, how do you like them apples? In Franklin, Pennsylvania, they love 'em. Bo talks about “Applefest,” his hometown's annual three day festival that has us jonesing for a nice big slice of homemade apple pie. On the lines, it was shoutout city today with multiple callers from across Walmart and Sam’s Club. Angel from Distribution Center 7067 in Irvington, Alabama, was a first-time caller. Josh from Club 6509 in Rome, Georgia, gave a shoutout to his manager, Ben, for always helping out when they need it most. Calls also came in from Anthony at Club 4790 in Pearl, Mississippi, and Lisa from Store 5923 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Bo shouted out several Store and Club award winners. Congrats to all those incredible facilities! Bo was also happy to talk to a customer in Potsdam, New York, who shouted out Abby at Store 3329 for incredible customer service. In entertainment news, Netflix is releasing a documentary about the last Blockbuster video store. But don’t worry; there are no late fees if you don’t watch it right away. Another Detective Product case was closed, and Bo dropped his Impossible Question of the Day, which asked: What junk food do 82% of men consume? Whatever it is, bet you can’t eat just one.
