Karen Amo MullikinMarch 26, 1977-January 18, 2019 Karen passed peacefully last night not long after I posted yesterday’s update. The sun came up this morning and I made my bed. That may not mean a lot to you, but on this episode I explain why it means a lot to me. Here is the full Facebook post from last night: Karen Amo Mullikin passed peacefully tonight surrounded by loved ones. We are forever in debt for all the love, prayers, support, and messages. She was someone who made all of us better. We will receive friends at the Newton-Hobson Chapel at Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 2-4 pm with the memorial service at 4. There will be a private burial for the extended family on Sunday, the 27th, at 2 pm at Oconee Memorial Gardens. A full obituary will be posted at later time. We have been blessed to have all our funeral and medical costs covered by some really great people. Many of you have asked what you can do to help. The kids and I are still talking about ways to honor Karen, but at this time we haven’t come to any decisions. The family has set http://www.teammullikin.comfor anyone who wants to contribute and bless our family during this time as seek the Lord’s will and healing. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude. We love you all. May these words from 2 Timothy 4 give you the same hope it has give us:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Some ideas for taking every thought captive and a prayer for peace for all of us. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 New International Version (NIV) 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Today has been a pretty frustrating day for a few reasons. Also, there are a few places where you can hear Karen screaming in the background. This is almost a spasm reaction where she will yell or cry out for no reason. There have been some days where she has done this for hours. Again, it is an involuntary thing that sometimes she doesn’t even realize she’s doing it. Thanks for your continued support. Update. Since I recorded this I resolved our internet issues and solved the energy crisis.

Yesterday I decided to cut my trip short and come home early from Orlando. This is the story of the journey to get home to my wife, Karen. Her oxygen levels have been below normal and safe for the past 2 days and hospice care has been called in. She is still alert and interacting with all of us and still making jokes without using any words. She is comfortable and surrounded by family.
