Olaf Hilgenfeld and Iftah Gabbai, two talented musicians with different backgrounds, are amongst the very few that actually play electronic music live on stage. Their live shows are a great display of playfulness, artistic skills and the ability to completely improvise a thrilling performance. Over the years Skinnerbox have developed a distinctively musical and groovy style, a complex, detailled, idiomatic sound and a bunch of unique technical setups and instruments for live shows as well as studio productions. They started performing in the legendary party contexts of Bachstelzen and Bar25 in Berlin back in 2005. Ever since they have been playing widely respected tours in the new and old world. Skinnerbox continuously release their studio productions on labels like BPitch Control, My Favorite Robot, Darkroom Dubs, including several musical collaborations with other artists. In 2014 was the premiere of “Time & Timbre” – a software drum-sequencer and -synthesizer for Max for Live. It is the result of an ongoing technical relationship with Ableton and the idea to make an instrument available for the public which was originally designed by Skinnerbox for their personal needs in the studio. It stands in a row with a lot of self made, adapted or modified musical gear they use. ———————————————

Anfangs noch auf kleinen Party’s, die er selbst mit veranstaltete, kamen in den folgenden Jahren immer mehr Events dazu. Live Music Circus Köthen, Soundprospektor (Ferrorpolis), Move Club Dessau, Gigant Frose, Präzisionswerk Espenhain, Basement Leipzig waren damalige Stationen, wo er seinen Sound entwickeln konnte. Bei den Radiosendern Sputnik und Corax spielte der Wahl-Leipziger live im Studio und erzählte dort erstmals seine musikalische Geschichte. Vinyl ist auch heute noch seine Leidenschaft und umso mehr freut er sich, wenn er in einem Club zwei Plattenspieler vor sich stehen hat. Distillery Leipzig, Void Berlin, Burg Schnabel Berlin oder das Simsalaboom Festival sind z.B. aktuelle Stationen, die ihm die Gelegenheit geben, seine Interpretation von elektronischer Musik weiterzugeben. Immer mal wieder spielt er auch gern ein back2back Set mit Gleichgesinnten, was ihm sehr viel Freude bereitet. Der Austausch und das Unvorhersehbare beim Spielen ist es, was es für ihn so interessant macht. Geprägt durch großes Interesse an den unterschiedlichsten Musikstilen beschreibt er seinen Sound als sehr Abwechslungs- und Facettenreich. Er übte tagelang zu Hause, bis er sich entschloss bei einem Contest des ehemaligen Magdalena Clubs mitzumachen. Er und seine Musik setzten sich durch und so ergatterte er den begehrten Closing-Slot auf dem Mainfloor - ein Traum wurde wahr. Sein Sound entwickelte sich von eher minimalistisch zu hartem Techno mit einer fetten Bassline, was auch sein eigenes Herz höher schlagen lässt wenn er hinter den Decks steht. Vor zwei Jahren begann er seine eigene Musik zu produzieren und wurde auch prompt von seinem Lieblingslabel SCANDER aufgenommen, desweiteren stößt man auf seine Tracks bei SCANDER, Ausnahmezustand , New Port, Distortis Music, Rubik's Recordings und diesesn Septmeber erscheint seine erste eigene EP auf Gain Records. Mittlerweile ist er häufig in Clubs wie KitKat Club, Suicide Circus, Ritter Butzke, Kosmonaut(POLYGON), Burg Schnabel, Johnny Knüppel (um hier nur ein paar zu nennen) anzutreffen. In 1994, Dennis Rema was born in Berlin an he is an open-minded and lifelike person. He has been in the techno scene in Berlin for 4 years, and since his first rave he knew he wanted to stay and evolve in this scene. He has a laptop and a controller and he practiced at home for hours. At first he loved minimum. But then it got very monotonous. So he decided to stay at the same tempo just with more melodic parts in the tracks. Finally, he applied to the contest of the former Maria (Magdalena Club) "Junge Wilden" with success. He was allowed to play the last slot on the Mainfloor, so that was a dream come true to me. Then when he won the contest he worked as a Resident at the Magdalena. Thru this Job, he got to know a lot of people which gave him further gigs in clubs like Johnny Knueppel, Kit Kat Club, Ritter Butzke, Suicide Circus, Burg Schnabel, Johnny Knueppel, Humboldthain,. 2 Years ago he started making his own music, he found his style of music very fast and knew which style he would like to produce. When he finished 2 tracks, he sent them to his favourite Label, SCANDER. He immediately received an answer wich he didn't expect: "We like your track very much, good work!" This of course has motivated him even more and so he continued to work on his music. He was allowed to publish on labels like SCANDER, Ausnahmezustand, New Port, Distortis Music, Rubik's Recordings and soon his first EP on Gain Records.

Dylan is an artist that brings an assembly of sound inspirations that uplift the anima & touch ones psyche. He tantalises those who have a lust for the space that lies between melodic house, deep techno, & electronica. He adapts to the energy of the dance floor, as well as the crowd he plays too, creating a surreal experience for his listeners. His ambient & esoteric track selection makes him an ideal act for keeping the pressure high on the dance floor. Dylan is apart of a collective named ‘KONA Music’ in Cape Town run by Triplefire Music founder, Ryan Sullivan & Techtris founder, Rodney Hanssen. He has supported both local & international performances at a range of underground venues in South Africa.
