It was this movie - 1976's The Omen - that brought him out of TV directing and into a wildly successful career in feature films. A solid entry into the "satanic cult craze" of late 70's horror (which started with The Exorcist), it features a practically-out-of-retirement Gregory Peck as the stepfather of the antichrist.

The Exorcist 3 is a weird an uneven and (as usual) plagued by studio interference. But it IS the source to one of the single-most-notoriously-effective jump scares in horror cinema. And yes, we talked about that too. Thanks to Adam for the request!

In fact, this is another one of those weeks where we suggest that ALL of our fans go out and see this film before listening to the episode. Its charms - and there are many - will be best experienced if you don't go into it knowing much about it, much less a play-by-play of the plot. You've come this far with us. You can trust us. Well, thanks to listener request, we finally found an excuse to check out the Driller Killer in all his phallic, penetrative action. Hard to believe this is the first in a series of three Roger Corman-produced slumber party massacres. And a remake is in the works!

It's hard to believe this swashbuckling tale of intrigue, political thriller, horror and sci-fi seems to have been lost to time, especially considering it stars a young Dennis Quaid, Kate Capshaw, Max Von Sydow, and Christopher Plummer - to whom we are paying tribute this week. This Wes Craven-produced short franchise is a special-effects extravaganza with a fun villain and an interesting premise: What would happen if you awakened a modern-day genie who wasn't so blue and friendly?

Directed by a William Crain, a black director, and helmed by the Shakespearean actor William Marshall, Blacula is essentially your standard Dracula story transported to an urban setting. And it's not nearly as bad as its goofy title would lead you to think.

February 14th is coming, and that means curling up with a loved one to watch a group of miners and their girlfriends get pickaxed to bits by a crazed killer in retaliation for an incident that happened on Valentine's Day 20 years ago. Or at least, that's how WE celebrate the holiday. How about you?
