Kaytee has a special guest co-host join her for this week’s episode: Jessica Turner! You’ll hear a “bookish moment of the week” from each: one that only a family of two authors will ever experience and a new discovery at the library that made for a quiet weekend at home. We talk 2 books each. One of which we both cannot stop talking about. We discuss Jessica’s new book, Stretched Too Thin. Who wants to win a copy of STT? I’ll be giving away a copy on Instagram this week, pop over!
This week, we dive in to discussing 3 books each. These mostly take a trip down backlist lane, because only one is brand new and the rest are back in the catalog. Next we get into every listener’s most-asked question: a brief overview of how in the /world/ Kaytee reads SO much while homeschooling all those children. Finally, we’ve got a book that will make your life better and a series that you have to push through the first book to get to the way better second and third books.
You’ll hear a “bookish moment of the week” from each of us: happy podcast vibes and bookish t-shirts. We dive in to discussing 3 books each. Two we really enjoyed and one… not so much. Watch out for those strong opinions in this segment this week! Then we time talking about Anne Bogel’s new book, I’d Rather Be Reading. This week’s favorites picks will either tear out your heart or scare the pee-waddle out of you (Meredith’s phrasing. LOL).
Meredith and Kaytee are back for a show that ended up having heavier subject matter than we'd expected. In addition to our regular features, this episode includes an accidental foray into non-fiction books about heavy subject matter, and we have a lot of words about them this week! Finally, we both discuss the ways we keep track of our reading: spreadsheets, journals, and apps. For full, time-stamped show notes, visit: https://www.currentlyreadingpodcast.com/show-notes/4
In our inaugural episode, we try out our format for the first time. You get to hear us get over our nerves and relax into some great book talk. We each share a “bookish moment of the week” , plus a few of the books we’ve finished lately, and what’s up next on the TBR pile. We finish up with A Book (yep, capitalized) from each of us that we’d like to put into every reader’s hands. This week Meredith's famous (infamous?) book metaphors make their first podcast appearance in this episode. Broccoli, anyone? We also do a mini-deep-dive into some of the best audiobooks to get you started if you're new to the medium, and then we move onto what’s up next on the TBR pile. We finish up with two books that are real page-turners, perfect for end of summer beach reading. For full, time-stamped show notes, click here: https://www.currentlyreadingpodcast.com/show-notes/2
Welcome back, book lovers! This episode we truly begin to show our love for middle-grade fiction. We hadn’t planned it this way, but we recommend a plethora of fantastic titles for your kids - or for the lover of kit lit in you. And, we both divulge our worst bookish habits, and chat a little bit about how we try to “combat” those habits.
