We are taking selections from the 9 PAGES of Ask Us Anything questions that we were sent by our listeners and answering them here on the podcast. If your question had to do with books and reading, we probably didn’t answer it, not because we don’t love it, but because many of them lend themselves to a full deep-dive! In today’s spoiler-free mini-episode, you get to hear from author Abbi Waxman, who wrote this weeks’ brand new release The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. Abbi is hysterically funny, so I’ll apologize now for cackling into the microphone a few times. Ha! In this “minisode”, Kaytee and Abbi discuss the inspiration for Nina and her awesome personality, the pitfalls of social media, what it’s like to be fangirled over, book clubs, planners, and even bed jackets… admit it, you’re curious.

We discuss our current reads for the week. We’ve got 6 (or more) books that someone will want to read ASAP, so get those library cards ready! For our deep dive, we are sampling 10 of our favorite “listener presses” for our Reading Challenge! If you sent us a press that didn’t make it into the episode, it was just because we didn’t have time. We loved hearing from all of you! You’ll hear our thoughts on each of these books as well, because, you know we have them!

This week’s pick include some historical fiction about the Spanish flu and a murder mystery from a master.

Current reads include quite a few non-fiction titles again this week, as well as some readalikes and great books for your kiddos. For our deep dive this week, we are getting a little deeper into the deepness and sharing about times that a book saved our lives. These stories are a bit vulnerable, a bit emotional, and a lot bookish. For our "books to press", this week we’ve got two historical fiction novels: one centering on the plague and one in the back of beyond of Australia.
