RapSheet and Friends

It's a pass-happy edition of RapSheet and Friends this week as Ian is joined by Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs (12:30) and Titans pass-catcher Corey Davis (49:00). Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo are also on hand as usual to discuss various goings on around the league, including Le'Veon Bell (5:20), the coaching situations with the Jets, Bengals and Browns (24:00) and answer the question nobody with any sense is asking: is Tom Brady on the decline? (36:00)

On a Crimson Tide-heavy edition of RapSheet and Friends, Ian's guests are a pair of former Alabama stars - Kareem Jackson of the Houston Texans (14:00) and Calvin Ridley of the Atlanta Falcons (42:30). And, as always, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero are on hand to offer their unique perspective. The guys discuss the Cowboys (7:45), John Harbaugh's job status (25:00), the Jets (28:30), Packers (32:30) and much more - including the intricacies of the etiquette of bestowing a pair of used shoes on a colleague. 

On Tuesday, Rams GM Les Snead pulled off one of the bigger trades of this year's deadline - acquiring pass rusher Dante Fowler from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a pair of draft picks. On Wednesday, he became Ian Rapoport's "special friend," joining RapSheet and Friends to talk about the inner workings of the deal (14:30). On the rest of a Halloween / trade deadline RapSheet and Friends mashup, Ian and "regular friends" Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero talk Halloween costumes (1:00), give an update on Mike's beef with the MMQB podcast (4:00), discuss the firings in Cleveland (6:15) plus react to the trade deadline dealings of the Rams (33:15), Lions/Broncos (38:30) and Packers (41:00). Ian's got a pair of high-profile guests this week - New England Patriots KR/WR Cordarrelle Patterson (15:30) and Indianapolis Colts rookie linebacker and Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate Darius Leonard (39:40). As usual, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo cleared their calendars to join the show, though Mike had to phone it in from the Jersey Turnpike this week and Tom couldn't manage to find his clothes in time. The guys talk about the New York Giants starting what looks like it's going to be a fire sale (5:00), the Amari Cooper trade to Dallas (29:30) and manage to begin a discussion about Hue Jackson potentially taking over play-calling duties in Cleveland with an extended conversation about jalapeño tequila (35:00). All that, plus the start of what looks to be the NFL Podcast Beef of 2018 (50:50) as Mike takes umbrage - yes, umbrage - with the fine folks at MMQB. Look out, Albert Breer: we're coming for you.

Ian's special guest this week is Dallas Cowboys COO, EVP and Director of Player Personnel Stephen Jones (10:50), who talks about Dak Prescott, a surging Dallas defense and much more. NFL Network colleague Kim Jones - no relation - also phones in to talk about the always entertaining New York Giants (47:55). And as usual, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero are on hand to keep Ian honest. This week, they teach him how to sell a story (4:00) and discuss Jon Gruden's unique press conference (26:40). They also let you listen in as they discuss what they need to know (or need to see?) this weekend in the NFL. Someday, together, we'll all decide what that segment is called. Then it'll change again the very next week. Consider it the gift that keeps on giving. (40:00)

Ian's guest this week is Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien (8:00), who tells the true story of J.J. Watt sprinting between practice reps. He also explains how Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer gave him the nickname Teapot (25:00). Of course, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero are on hand to talk about everything going on around the league - from Odell Beckham's notorious interview (2:30) to the resurgence of the Cleveland Browns (28:00). Also, in a sort of bingo of R&B and hip-hop, the following names are mentioned at various points during the show - Lil' Wayne, Notorious B.I.G., Usher, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott and Diddy. Just in time for Week 5 of the 2018 season, Ian is joined by Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon (16:00) as well as his friend and NFL Network colleague James Palmer. And, as always, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero are on hand to offer their insights into the latest news around the NFL and share their issues with printers and parenting. Really.

After breaking that 635-day streak without a win, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry joins Ian as the special guest this week - though it should be noted the Browns are a symetrical 1-1-1 during Juice's short tenure in the 'Land. Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo are on hand as always to go through the biggest stories of the week - and pick through each other's closets. And finally, in a segment we probably should've called "Clay Matthews Wishes You Well with that Endeavor", NFL Network colleague and "special friend" Judy Battista joins Ian to discuss rumblings within the competition committee that something needs to be done about all the roughing the passer penalties.

This week's show starts with the inside dirt on an off-day-in-the-life of Tom Pelissero, while Mike Garafolo chimes in with his weekly airing of grievances. We also get the inside scoop on the return of Carson Wentz and behind-the-scenes details on the reporting of Josh Gordon's trade to New England (and the 45-minute stress-fest it caused for Ian and, in a way, his mom). Bengals defensive coordinator Teryl Austin is this week's special guest (starts at 22:15) and NFL Network colleague and friend of the show, Aditi Kinkhabwala (40:45), hops on the line to try to disect the many layers of drama currently bubbling in Pittsburgh. 

RapSheet and Friends is back for Week 2 with special guest Adam Gase, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Ian's NFL Network colleagues Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero are on hand again as well as a quick drop-in from NFL.com reporter Jeffri Chadiha, who this week got the inside scoop on Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. We also spare a moment for Nathan Peterman.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is Ian's first guest on RapSheet and Friends. Also joining the show this week, Ian's NFL Network colleagues Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero ahead of the start of the 2018 season.
