've been a photographer for six years. I truly love it, and I love serving my clients the way I do. But as my children get older I'm needing more Saturday's at home so I'm leaning into coaching and helping other women create thriving communities around their brand. I'm excited for you to walk through this transition in my brand with me.  In this episode I'm sharing lessons I'm learning in real time.  A true BTS look at the one bridge I'm building for 2019.  

People regularly ask how I launched Messy Success, so I thought it was time for us to talk about it! A lot of different things went into the success of my podcast, but the most important one was, of course, my community.

A common topic of discussion among entrepreneurs and other professionals. I think there's a lot of negative energy around this - it's easy to feel taken advantage of when someone wants to "pick our brain," but they're not offering anything in return. As entrepreneurs, our time is money and we have to use our time wisely. In the episode I go into more details about when it's okay to ask, what you should keep in mind when you ask, and if you're the one being asked out to coffee, how can you say no?

This week, I'm speaking with Erika Mills, a wedding photographer and multi-passionate, creative entrepreneur who you will love getting to know. In this episode, she shares tips and tricks for running more than one business and squashing the fears you might have about having multiple revenue streams.

Alison McPherson won a recent giveaway to be featured on my blog, but she was destined to be on this podcast anyway! Now a real estate agent, Alison used to work in the wedding industry where she found herself job hopping after 1.5 years in every job. She worked for an event rental company, a caterer, two venues, destination management, and more. After she never really found true joy in any of her jobs and she got burnt out with the weddings and the nature of the wedding industry.

I recently held a workshop with local creative entrepreneurs called The Ultimate Year Workshop. This was a four-hour intensive where we really sat down and dove deep into business, but I thought it might be fun to share some of the takeaways from the workshop. We all have this little superpower to change someone's day. Every morning we wake up, we have an opportunity to spread kindness, positive words, and encouragement to others. We've all had rough days, especially as entrepreneurs, but have you ever had one person completely turn that day around with one word, review, or comment? The Shine the Light challenge is one week of daily challenges in a pop-up group on Facebook with opportunities to shine the light on other people. Stop. Slow down.
