Oklahoma Sooners kicker Calum Sutherland is being investigated for a Title IX violation stemming from his public intoxication arrest last month. Sutherland was the starting placekicker for OU at the start of the season. “We have been aware of the matter and Calum has been suspended indefinitely since we were notified,” OU said in a statement. When the Sooners play the Kansas Jayhawks, they'll put a 14-game winning streak to the test. The Sooners last lost to the Jayhawks football team on Oct. 4, 1997. The last time a Kansas Jayhawks football team beat Oklahoma: —Les Miles was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State —Lincoln Riley was 14 years old —Jalen Hurts wouldn’t be born for another year (1998)

The run defense is suspect with four true freshmen starting. But they’ve scored at least 42 points in every outing and Tagovailoa is a titan. Is Jim Harbaugh on thin ice? He’s got five ranked opponents left including three undefeated teams and a Notre Dame team with no margin for error. You take a loss to each of the ranked teams left and you’re the toughest 6-6 team in football. But that’s not the standard at Michigan, and Harbaugh hasn’t met it. The question for his bosses is who’re you gonna get that’s going to perform better? Are Justin Fields and Ohio State the most complete team in college football? Who is gonna stop this team? The toughest away game left is at Michigan. You get Michigan State, Wisconsin and Penn State at home, and you’ve done nothing but utterly soul-snatch every team you’ve faced. No. 7 Auburn vs No. 10 Florida UF is at full-strength with corner back C.J. Henderson and defense end Jabari Zuniga back from injury. That’s six interceptions in 27 games and 18 sacks in 39 Dan Mullen gets back. So if Auburn can go into the swamp and come out with a set of Gator shoes we have to start talking about Malzahn and the Tigers the way we’re talking about Alabama, Georgia and LSU. Auburn’s 56-23 demolition of Mississippi State is its most complete game to date following a 28-20 win against Texas A&M at Kyle Field. Saturday marks the first top-10 matchup in The Swamp since No. 3 Florida thumped No. 9 South Carolina, 44-11, on Oct. 20, 2012. Florida has beaten seven of the last nine top-10 teams to come into The Swamp with last year’s 27-19 win over No. 5 LSU (Oct. 6)

Oklahoma Sooners football coach Lincoln Riley gave a preview of what is ahead for his No. 6-ranked team as they prepare to travel to Kansas to take on Les Miles' Jayhawks. He also gave an eloquent response to the news of California Gov. Gavin Newsom signing SB206, which would make law colleges and universities in the state paying college student-athletes for their name, likeness and image.

Jim Harbaugh and Michigan got Rutgers football coach Chris Ash fired. Since Rutgers joined the Big Ten in 2014 there have been 19 Big Ten conference games in which a team was shutout. Rutgers has been the team shutout in 9 of them. Ash was 8-32 as head coach of the Scartlet Knights. Rutgers loss their last three games a combined 112-16. He’s owed $8.5 million in the buyout of his contract.

Florida Gators coach Dan Mullen put the Southeastern Conference on notice because he wanted to know where the SEC games are on his team's schedule in the coming years. The SEC is notorious for cupcake scheduling in an eight-team conference slate. The non-conference scheduling is almost as horrid.

With Berry Tramel posting his blog about his top 10 rankings, I've had it with how much rankings matter and how easily they can be manipulated, whether it's the AP college football poll, College Football Playoff selection committee rankings and poll or the Amway Coaches Poll, they can all be manipulated, and I don't like it.

Tech head coach Matt Wells and offensive coordinator David Yost have to rely on quarterbacks Jackson Tyner and Jett Duffey to help lead running backs Ta'Zhawn Henry, Armand Shyne and wide receiver T.J. Vasher on the offense. The defense is led by coordinator Keith Patterson, linebacker Jordyn Brooks and defensive back Adrian Frye.
