 Episode 22b: “QBs, Part IV” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:51

In the final installment of the 2017 position reflection on quarterbacks, the guys are applying their player values from the previous episodes to analyze dynasty trades. Has Jared Goff already reached elite superflex value? A trade proposal sparks a little bit of debate from the gang, but perceived value wins out vs. true value. Patrick Mahomes is the new starter in Kansas City, so is he ready to be a dynasty starter in superflex? He may be a throw-in, but let the buyer AND seller beware! And one of the Super Flexible Super Friends is selling low on Marcus Mariota, but how low can he go? Plus, two polarizing young playmakers are the center of trade negotiations across the superflex universe; do any of the trades hold up? All that and more on this week’s episode! Special thanks to Heart and Soul Radio for their song, “The Addiction,” and special thanks to the Dynasty Football Network, the Dynasty Football Factory, and the entire #DFFArmy.  Episode 22a: “QBs, Part III” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:06

Rounding out the top 24 quarterbacks, the gang is trying to find nice things to say about some underachieving slingers. What does the fantasy future hold for Derek Carr, Jameis Winston, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco? Has Case Keenum and/or Blake Bortles earned some job security? And where will Tyrod Taylor and Andy Dalton land? Plus, Marcus Mariota is due for a bounce-back, Trubisky and Mahomes are on the way up, Garoppolo looks like a star in the making, and Andrew Luck returns to elite status… to two of the Super Flexible Super Friends. There’s a debate coming… All that and more on this week’s FIRST episode of two!  Episode 21b: “QBs, Part II” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:52

In this follow-up episode, the guys finish breaking down the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks from 2017. A couple of the signal-callers in the 6-12 range are young, up-and-coming players with bright outlooks. Others are in the twilight of their careers, and their dynasty owners are facing some tough decisions. And two are in their prime, with uncertainty surrounding them going into the offseason. How many will finish in this range in 2018? The Super Flexible gang has thoughts on each quarterback, and their future outlooks on this episode of Super Flexible!  Episode 21a: "The Return(s)" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:06

It’s a special episode of Super Flexible, as the guys return from holiday break… all THREE of the guys! James “The Brain” Koutoulas is back as well, completing the trio once again. James missed out on the “2017 giveaways and takeaways” discussions, but he has a few thoughts of his own… and as always, it’s Travis and John who end up debating. This time, Todd Gurley is the topic of conversation, as the best running back in the game solidified his value in dynasty fantasy football. The question is, what is that value? After a lively discussion, the guys embark on a new journey through dynasty rankings, breaking down the fantasy landscape position-by-position. First up: Quarterbacks! In this partial episode, the guys are talking Top 5 fantasy quarterbacks from 2017, and their outlooks going forward. One Super Flexible Super Friend is uninspired by the list, with some very specific criticism for the all-time greatest, in particular. Plus, the top two quarterbacks in fantasy are all-too familiar names, but they achieved their heights in unfamiliar ways. What can we expect from these young guns going forward? All that and more, on this episode of Super Flexible! Special thanks to Heart and Soul Radio for their song, “The Addiction,” and special thanks to the Dynasty Football Network, the Dynasty Football Factory, and the entire #DFFArmy.  Episode 20: “Ain’t Nuthin’ But a (Jimmy) G Thang” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:18:25

In the milestone 20th episode, Travis and John continue the 2017 fantasy season’s exit interview. Was it a giveaway that Josh McCown would be a startable superflex quarterback? Or that he would raise Robby Anderson’s value along with his own? The guys are discussing expectations of rookie quarterbacks as giveaways as well, not to mention Adam Thielen after his white hot finish to his rookie season. Their takeaways include bad teams turning it around (with a revolting suggestion on a potential sleeper offense in 2018), and late season pass catching breakouts, with a couple way-too-early sleepers. And which path should an owner take in dynasty startups: RBs to rule, or WRs to win? Plus, trades involving Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, early first round draft picks, Hunter Henry and Sammy Watkins; “You’re Nuts!” predictions on a quarterback with a modest goal and a running back with redemption on his mind. And a LOT of talk about Jimmy Garoppolo! All that and more on this week’s episode of Super Flexible!  Episode 19: “Looking Back on Looking Forward” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:49

Travis and John are tag-teaming a 2017 season reflection, talking about takeaways following the season… and developments that probably could have been predicted. Who will be the Rams of 2018? Should we have known that DeAndre Hopkins would bounce back? Or that Dez Bryant wouldn’t bounce back? And how should fantasy players approach rookie running backs going forward, after seeing several of them produce at a high level in 2017? The guys are also talking trades, involving Julio Jones, Dalvin Cook, Devonta Freeman, Joe Flacco, Jared Goff, and the incomparable Russell Wilson. Plus, “You’re Nuts!” predictions on a west coast quarterback and an east coast running back. All that and more on this week’s episode! Special thanks to Heart and Soul Radio for their song, “The Addiction,” and special thanks to the Dynasty Football Network, the Dynasty Football Factory, and the entire #DFFArmy.  Episode 18: “Pop Quiz, Hotshot!” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:15:02

The dynasty universe comes to a fork in the road with the beginning of the fantasy playoffs: some dynasty players are on to the playoffs, while others start building for 2018. Travis and John are quizzing themselves on dynasty startup values, starting at the top. Who is the WR1 in dynasty? Do we have a new QB1? How long can LeSean McCoy and Jordan Reed hold off Father Time? What to do with the Seattle running backs? And speaking of Seattle, is their tight end an elite dynasty asset? In trade reflections, David Johnson is on trial, representing the entire running back position against quarterbacks and tight ends in a tight end premium superflex; Dez Bryant’s inconsistency might lead his owners to sell for inconsistent youth; and is Devin Funchess for real? Funchess is the focal point in a rebuild move, but which side should a rebuilding team take? All that, plus Josh Gordon shines ahead of schedule, and Dak does what Dak does in the guys’ “You’re Nuts!” recaps, followed by a fresh set of bold predictions on this week’s episode!  Episode 17: “Embrace the Suck!” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:20:59

As the regular season winds down – for both fantasy and the NFL – Travis and John are wondering aloud, why are NFL teams so hesitant to scrap their dead end season? A veteran quarterback struggles, while his young backup waits for an opportunity that may not come while the team’s playoff hopes are alive. The guys are handing out lectures like candy, also admonishing dynasty players who bail on their young receivers too early, and traders who overvalue draft picks and undervalue solid veterans. It’s a therapeutic episode of Super Flexible! The guys are also playing “True/False” on the future’s of Blaine Gabbert and Case Keenum, the values of Keenan Allen, Ameer Abdullah and Marvin Jones, the breakouts of Austin Ekeler and Ricky Seals-Jones, and the breakdowns of Dez Bryant and Demarco Murray. And John has some choice words for Russell Wilson… and he’s treading in uncharted territory! Plus trade reflections, “You’re Nuts!,” and “SuperStreakers.” Special thanks to Heart and Soul Radio for their song, “The Addiction,” and special thanks to the Dynasty Football Network, the Dynasty Football Factory, and the entire #DFFArmy.  Episode 16: “To Tell the Truth…” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:44

With James out of pocket for the week, Travis and John are putting their Russell Wilson differences aside and teaming up to make sense of the fantasy football landscape as the fantasy playoffs approach. In a game of “True or False,” the guys are pondering the futures of players from Samaje Perine, Andre Ellington and Devontae Booker to Paxton Lynch, Jay Cutler and Nathan Peterman. Is Aaron Jones the guy in Green Bay? Thielen or Diggs? Kamara in the top 6? So many questions to answer… without James “The Brain,” can these guys resist the urge to just alternate “T” and “F” for every answer? Plus, dynasty trades are going down involving Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Corey Davis, Jay Ajayi, Alvin Kamara, Kirk Cousins, Devante Parker, Derrick Carr and Devonta Freeman, to name a few. The Super Flexible crew of two is here to break down the trades and talk overall trading strategies. And Week 11 prediction review, “You’re Nuts!” and “SuperStreakers” on this shorthanded, long-winded episode!  Episode 15: “The Bet” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:16:02

The focus of the 15th episode of Super Flexible was meant to be on trades, but an eye-popping bet stole the show, and in the unlikeliest of segments. Travis’ “SuperStreaker” has James in a gambling mood, and he’s willing to wager all the hair on his head for all the hair on Trav’s face! It’s the great American tradition of the Hair Bet, to be paid up live on Episode 16! There is still plenty of time for trade talk, as the guys discuss trade values of Corey Davis, Sterling Shepherd David Johnson, Alvin Kamara, Matthew Stafford, Philip Rivers, Stefon Diggs, Mitchell Trubisky, and 2018 draft picks. Plus draft strategy and “junk math” on player values. The guys are pulling out all their trading tools to help prepare for various league format trading deadlines! And the gang rehashes their Week 10 bold predictions, makes some new ones in “You’re Nuts!,” and throw out some Week 11 “SuperStreakers.” All that and more in Episode 15 of Super Flexible!  Episode 14: “Fight Week” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:05

The gang is back, and this time they’re trying to prepare for life without two great young quarterbacks; rookie sensation DeShaun Watson is out for the season with a torn ACL in practice, and Andrew Luck is teetering on the brink of catastrophe as he’s shut down for the season, with his career in the balance. The guys are talking rankings and replacements for the AFC South field generals. Plus, Jameis Winston will sit and heal, which means it is FitzMAGIC time! How will the Buccaneers fare with Travis’ doppleganger in for Famous Jameis? And Eli Manning may be headed for the bench as the Giants’ season slips away; what does the future hold for The Last Manning Standing, and which of his backups is worth a stash in superflex leagues? Everybody was kung-fu fightin’ in Week 9, as AJ Green and Jaylen Ramsey went at it, Mike Evans attacked Marshon Lattimore, and Carlos Hyde took on the entire Cardinals defense. What does the NFL’s disciplinary action mean for the players involved? And how do those battles stack up against the slugfest between Andre Johnson and Courtland Finnegan? The guys are also talking trades, as contenders try to rally from the loss of Watson and Aaron Rodgers and reload for the playoff run, and everyone else is getting their quarterback of the future at a discount. Would the guys mortgage the future for a championship run? And would they advocate for trading the almighty OBJ in dynasty leagues? All that, plus “You’re Nuts!” and “SuperStreakers” in the 14th episode of Super Flexible! Special thanks to Heart and Soul Radio for their song, “The Addiction,” and special thanks to the Dynasty Football Network, the Dynasty Football Factory, and the entire #DFFArmy.  Episode 13: "The Great Cam/Russ Debate" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:31

It. Is. TIME!!! It’s Main Event time on Super Flexible podcast, with a 12-round battle that has been building for weeks, and it has come to a head! In the red corner, we have John: a Cam Newton truther who believes Russell Wilson is far too erratic to be considered an elite dynasty quarterback, with up-and-down performances at inopportune times. John believes Cam Newton is a more valuable dynasty quarterback because he has demonstrated the ability to sustain excellence, as evidenced by his MVP season in 2015, when he was consistently ranked among the top 10 fantasy quarterbacks every week. In the blue corner, we have Travis “The Beard.” Travis is the current Super Flexible torch-bearer for Russell Wilson, and contends that Cam Newton is the inconsistent fantasy performer, finishing two of the previous three seasons outside the top 15 for fantasy quarterbacks. He ranks Wilson as an elite fantasy quarterback for his immense upside, citing his torrid finish to 2015, when he finished as the fantasy QB3. Besides the debate to end all debates on the consistency of two polarizing fantasy quarterbacks, the gang is talking trade deadline moves as a young quarterback changes jerseys, conferences and coasts, teaming up with an offensive mastermind, and one of the game’s biggest stars gets a new bodyguard. Two young gunslingers fill the sky with footballs, while a third has an uncharacteristically bad game; the guys discuss the futures of Wilson, DeShaun Watson and Dak Prescott. A gruesome injury to one of the game’s top tight ends paves the way for some young players to emerge as fantasy options, and a star is born in the Steel City… so what do you call the thing he chained up on Sunday night? All that, plus last week’s bold prediction reflections, and “You’re Nuts!” and “Super Streakers” for Week 9.  Episode 12: “Out of Luck” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:09

More bold proclamations and predictions from the Super Flexible gang going into Week 8, although Week 7 ended up being humbling to some extent for all three of the guys. But “You’re Nuts!” was generous to at least one of the SuperFlex SuperFriends, while another was essentially shut out! The guys have a new round of “You’re Nuts!” predictions, focusing on the running backs for Week 8, and some Week 8 Super Streakers as well. Plus, Carson Palmer may be done for good (or at least the season), but how much can you trust his replacement? Jay Cutler is injured and will return soon, but will he have a job to return to? DeShone Kizer finds himself in a vicious cycle of being named the starter in Cleveland, then getting benched almost immediately; how can he jump off this carous-hell? And Amari Cooper appears to be back, but can fantasy players really trust him? And do they have a choice?? After reflecting on some trades (and debating the values of Marcus Mariota, Ezekiel Elliott, and more), John mediates the inaugural “FaceOff” between James and Travis, as they attempt to settle a disagreement on Andrew Luck. There’s a 7-spot discrepancy between their rankings of Luck in dynasty superflex, so they’ll hash it out and plead their cases!  Episode 11: “Hundley Hand Check” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:26

Week 6 in the NFL was a nightmare for superflex players, starting (of course) with the potentially season-ending injury to Aaron Rodgers. But the freak show didn’t stop there, as quarterbacks were injured or benched all over the league. The guys have thoughts on some of the new starters, some speculation on player availability, and even some analysis on Colin Kaepernick in a week where he would have been in high demand. The gang goes in-depth on the other movers and shakers from Week 6, from the injury/benching replacements and their expectations, to the confidence level in sustained production from breakout running backs Orleans Darkwa and Adrian Peterson, to the chances of a bounce-back game for Alex Smith. Then, the new-look Super Flexible crew takes its first swing at “You’re Nuts!,” reflecting on wayward Week 6 predictions for John Brown, Will Fuller and – gulp! – Amari Cooper. Then the discussion gets a little heated as the guys make bold predictions for Week 7, with an emphasis on the quarterback position. Finally, some trade reflections and SuperStreakers stir the pot yet again as the guys debate Aaron Rodgers’ trade value, as well as that of DeShaun Watson, Kareem Hunt and, of course, Russell Wilson. All that and more from James, Travis and John!  Episode 10: "In With the New" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:04:40

Introducing the new cast of the Super Flexible podcast! Travis Rasmussen (@TravisNFL) and James Koutoulas (@DFF_Psychic) make their debut on the show, joining John and sharing their very different fantasy football experiences. The new guys waste no time attacking fantasy’s major topics of the week: Odell Beckham, JJ Watt and Brandon Marshall are lost for the season; what does it mean for fantasy? DeShone Kizer gets benched, Derek Carr is on his way back, and Eli Manning is out of receivers; James and Travis have some thoughts on the ever-changing quarterback position. In “Moving the Chains,” the guys identify nine players who are pushing the pile and climbing their rankings, including three rookie running backs and three second-year wide receivers. James and Travis are liking two second-year quarterbacks, while John is ready to acknowledge that this veteran signal caller is nailing his job interview. The gang also debuts a new segment called “Three and Out,” calling out nine players who are falling in their dynasty rankings, and three who have hit fantasy rock bottom. Father Time is catching up with the quarterbacks, and their pass catchers are affected as well. The running backs, however, have wide-ranging issues pushing them down in dynasty rankings. But at least they’re sticking on rosters! The guys name three players who don’t belong on rosters anymore, which inevitably comes with some harsh criticism. In “Going Deep,” the guys look deep into the waiver wire for the players who will be hot pickups in the coming weeks, and Travis has a couple buy-low candidates to acquire in trade while they’re discounted… including a guy who has been untouchable until now. And in “SuperStreakers,” the SF-ers are on the lookout for prime quarterback matchups in Week 6. Special thanks to Heart and Soul Radio for their song, “The Addiction,” and special thanks to the Dynasty Football Network, the Dynasty Football Factory, and the entire #DFFArmy.
