The Art of Joy

Allie takes us on her journey of Infertility and her decision to pursue an open adoption. We hope that hearing her story will offer courage to anyone out there who has thought of adoption but has not moved forward. We believe that healing takes place in its most powerful way when we can see the world we've been looking at with new eyes.

Part one of our conversation with Dane. Tune in as he introduces himself, and shares parts of his story, struggles, and successes. Sometimes, our path in life collides with another's journey. Dane walked through our front door and took up residency in our hearts. Dane brought the art of knitting and baking to our family and gave us the gift of Hygge when we needed it most.

On April 15th, 2013, terrorist bombs were placed near the Boston Marathon finish line that left three dead and more than 260 wounded. Elena Breese was in the crowd waiting to cheer on her husband Jeff as he crossed the finish line. In a split second, everything changed when a terrorist bomb exploded across from the spectator stands. Elena suffered a bomb concussion and fled to safety.

Jill Hazard Rowe, Is one of the founding members of Mama Dragons, a support group for Mothers with LGBTQIA Children. Jills son came out in 2011 and at the time she was an orthodox member of her LDS faith and thought that being gay was a choice. "She says that to be gay is incredibly difficult, but to be a gay Mormon is impossible."

In this episode, we talk about death and dying and practical tips we can all use in guiding our babies through this process. Support groups for children are little miracles that let them know they are not alone.

In this episode we talk about the One Year anniversary of Pauls death. Today we interviewed Bre Lasley. On September 23, 2015, she survived an attempted murder. Listening to Bre recount the events of that evening, sent chills through our bones. It's hard to imagine the horror that climbed through her window and changed the course of her life.

Today we sit down with private investigator Brett Magleby.  Brett was the lead private investigator in our search when Paul went missing. Brett opens up about his personal life and challenges as a single father. He shares how drug addiction has affected his life and shares so much wisdom about how to recover from the most painful times. We never know what life will ask us to endure. The real goal is to find the gifts hidden deep in our shadows, and move towards healing and ultimately Joy!

In Part 2 we talk about prayer vs. meditation and go over daily questions you can ask yourself to check your spiritual pulse. We also dive into the big soul questions and share our thoughts and beliefs.  We believe that asking the right questions is the secret sauce for growth and shifting our perspective.
