With 2019 right around the corner, we need to start thinking about making it the best year ever. To do that, we must ensure our goals are in alignment with our definition of success. But, most people don't know how they define success. In this episode, I talk about why it is so important to define success and how you can do it so your goals and actions are aligned.
Have you ever set goals for yourself but got frustrated when you didn't achieve them, despite doing the things you thought you needed to do to achieve them? Well, the reason could be that you haven't become the person that is capable of achieving those goals yet. In this episode, I discuss why it is so important to focus on yourself and growing as a person to achieve your goals.
The story of Michaelangelo carving the statue of "David" is fascinating. He carved the famous sculpture from a piece of marble he found on a side street in Florence, Italy. When it was complete, people asked how he did it. He simply said that he saw "David" in the marble and he just had to remove everything that wasn't "David." In this episode, I discuss how we need to do the same with ourselves and how we can reveal more of who we really are.
Goals. We all have them, but how often have you given up on them? I know that in the past, I have given up on quite a few. Just when I was about to reach the tipping point, I just gave up. Looking back, I understand a couple of reason why this happens. In this episode, I talk about giving up on our goals, a few reasons why it happens, and how to prevent it in the future. I hope you enjoy!
Are you committed to your success? Are you willing to put in the 10,000 hours it takes to be successful? Are you willing to burn the ships? If so, you will be successful. It takes commitment and unfortunately, most people do not fully commit to their goals and dreams. In this episode, I talk about the importance of committing, when I burned my ships, and why it is important to do so.

This past weekend, a senseless tragedy happened in my city. Pittsburgh. A terrible tragedy. We, as human beings, need to overcome the darkness and evil in the world by shining the lights that burn bright inside of us. In this episode, I discuss the tragedy and what we can all do to try to create a positive, ripple effect in the world.
I recently spoke to a class of college freshmen. During the discussion, the topic of fear came up. Many of these kids were letting fear run their lives. In fact, we have all let fear dictate the things we do sometimes. But you have to learn to embrace fear because everything you want is on the other side of it.
I recently had a discussion with a fellow entrepreneur about business and life. During our discussion, we started talking about the entrepreneurs that write books talking about the journey, but how those books tend to leave out the crap. The bad days. The lack of focus. The $hit. We both agreed those are some of the most important things an entrepreneur will face.
Recently, I have met quite a few people in business that have lost sight of the service of others. They have reached a certain level and now they believe they are more valuable than they are. It jaded me a little. But then I met someone this weekend that brought everything back to me and made me realize that helping others is truly the way to win.
How you talk to yourself is so important. I recently had a discussion with a good friend of mine who gave me a suggestion. He said that I should use the word "challenge" instead of "problem" because it changes the way we think about it. After that conversation, I started doing so and it changed a lot for me. In this episode, I discuss why this is an important distinction to make and how the way you talk to yourself impacts the success you have in life.
