Matt Duchene and Kyle Turris have found new homes but they're just the first dominoes to fall. Who else will be moving and how will it change the balance of power in each conference?
Many players in the NHL today are being paid for what they've done, not what they're going to do as they've crossed through prime of their careers. Many of those players may have been better off being dealt 2-3 years earlier. We discuss several what if scenarios, particularly, what if the Habs had dealt Carey Price. We also talk about potential replacements for the next coaching vacancies.
Which NHL coach will be fired first? Will the brutal start for the Arizona Coyotes result in the early demise of head coach Rick Tocchet? Will the New York Rangers rough start push Alain Vigneault out the door in favor of assistant coach Lindy Ruff? Also, updates on Shipachyov, trade rumors and more!
Things have gone right on so many fronts for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, but not when it comes to Russian forward Vadim Shipachyov. Find out where we think he gets traded to. Also, we break down the best games of the weekend and how some losing teams are set to break out and go on winning streaks.
When the NHL season began, there was so much hope. We're now 6-8 games in the season and injuries already pose a threat to several team's playoff hopes. Other teams have avoided the injury bug, and have cruised beyond expectations set during the preseason. Is the landscape of the NHL changing or is it just a hiccup in the matrix? We also talk about our hatred for blackouts of NHL games, and possible solutions (all legal we promise!).
The beginning of the regular season can create some abnormal statistics with such a small sample size. So we'll use the stock market of NHL teams and players to determine who we should buy low and sell high.
Week 1 of the regular season is complete, and it's time to celebrate or panic (depending on who you cheer for). Ovechkin on pace to score 287 goals so obviously Gretzky's 92 is in jeopardy, and Nail Yakupov leads the Colorado Avalanche in scoring. Also, Mark Warner from the Vegas Hockey Podcast joins us to talk about the Las Vegas Golden Knights 2-0 start. You can find their show on Twitter at @VegasHockeyPod.
The 2017-18 regular season is upon us and we are previewing the Detroit Red Wings. We breakdown each position and grade them and then rank them within the Atlantic division.
TSN released their Top 50 NHL players and Sidney Crosby has been dethroned! Find out what we think of the rest of the list and where we put players on our Top 50. We also talk about our calder trophy favorites and the players most likely to come out of nowhere and have good seasons.
We've seen over 7 power plays per game so far in the preseason. Will this be like 2005-06 when we saw the most power play opportunities per game in the history of the league? Slashing and faceoff infraction penalties could help increase scoring. We also, give our crazy predictions for the year, and we give our 2020 Stanley Cup champion predictions (I know, its kinda early but it's preseason...)
All the latest news from the start of the NHL starting training camp. We also have Andrew Stone from Stone on Sports join us for an inside look at the Montreal Canadiens. Check him out on Twitter @AndrewMikeStone!
