 Fear | #15 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1331

Having discussed the distinction ‘Judgement’ last episode, today Lorna Patten and I look at the big one - Fear.   When we talk fear,  most of us imagine the big fears in life - fear of dying, public speaking, skydiving, leaving a job to chase a dream, but fear is more insidious and pervasive than that. In this episode we cover: How fear shows up in our life. The context of fear is not the same as the feeling of fear. That feeling scared and operating out of fear are not the same thing. Old vs new paradigm – Love vs Fear. Any restrictions you place in your life is a sign of fear impacting your decision making. Finding your voice and practicing it every day. The importance of showing up and speaking your truth in all moments, no matter how small. Asking yourself - what choices would I make if I had no fear?   #Thrival Tips for your Thrival Kits: Be aware of, and acknowledge, if your choices are coming from a place of love or fear. Remember that fear is an illusion. Make friends with your ego mind. Choose to be conscious of all the ways fear shows up. Ask yourself - what would love do?   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here. Continue the conversation in Facebook - The Change Room Podcast Group.  Judgement - yours and others | #14 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1332

Following on from the last episode on choosing what you want, we look further at the distinction of judgement – of ourselves and of others. In this episode we cover: The importance to practice and play with all these distinctions. Judgement is repulsive and the biggest roadblock to change. Understanding that we cannot feel judged until we first judge ourselves. Deleting more from your vocabulary. Judgement limits your creativity and ability to be open and curious. The freedom that comes when you accept you are judgmental and know it is not right or wrong. The judgements about our judgements is the issue. Whatever we say to ourselves, know it is constantly being repeated internally.   Thrival Tips for you Thrival Kits: Reviewing everything this week through the distinction of judgement. See how judgement is impacting your days. Accept that you will always judge. Let it come and let it go. Notice how you feel when you choose to let go of judging yourself.   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  Choose What You Want | #13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1412

Today we dive into Season 2 to talk about the difference between ‘choosing’ and ‘wanting’ in your business and in life – and how they produce markedly different results. In this episode we cover: What happens when you choose to have a restful night sleep and the impact it can have on your wellbeing. The importance of setting a bedtime routine and choosing to have a good night sleep as part of that routine. What happens when you do business from a place of fear and the danger of not speaking your truth. Why we deal with the symptoms and not the cause. The importance of putting the hard yards in to get through the layers. Conscious versus unconscious choices. The process of un-choosing and telling the truth. Choose what you have already – whether you like it or not. There is no right or wrong choice, quit the judgement and make the choice based on current situation. Choose anything to get you where you want. Play around with choosing what you want – have fun!   Thrival Tips for you Thrival Kits: Bring colour textas into your life List what you have chosen today to date. From that list, choose what you actually want. Observe and get curious. Choose who you want to be. Play around and have fun with choosing in your life.   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here. Continue the conversation in Facebook - The Change Room Podcast Group.  Welcome to Season 2 | #12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 625

Season 1 was about establishing and a great language for our conversations. We use business stories to demonstrate and distill foundation distinctions. We covered Filters, Feelings, Not Good Enough stuff, Response Ability and Truth. We looked at the 'Be Do Have' model and the 'Whole Whole' model and it was all about you getting a sense of the absolute joy, power and fun that is up for grabs when you consciously create and cause the whole of your own reality. In Season 2 we're diving deeper and giving you a broader vocabulary.   We'll start by defining ‘Choose What You Want’. One of the most powerful distinctions you will get access to. We end the season with ‘Understanding versus Experience’. Lorna Pattern will again be joining us on the second season and will be the Thrival Tips to ensure your Thrival Kit is full and ready for when you need to get things back on track. Remember the only expert you need in your life and business is you!   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  Season 1 Wrap | #11 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1412

Today we celebrate and wrap up the first season of The Change Room by highlighting some of our favorite conversations (and boopers!). We will be back in a few weeks with Season 2 but in the meantime make sure to say in touch with us in our Facebook Group.   During this episode we recap on: The four levels of filters we see life through and the most important filter we need to work with the most. Filters are a context. They’re how you give meaning to everything. If you don’t like what you’re experiencing: Change your filter, clean your filter, make a different choice. How to know when you are filtering stuff. That feelings are not fact and the stories we keep telling ourselves. Talking about energy in motion, the feelings we create in our head before we feel them. How we do that is through the filters we use because it’s the meaning we put on things which causes us to feel things. Why your action list isn't the stumbling block for moving your business forward, it’s the massive human emotional stuff - our emotions. Why setting up the context first is so important when communicating. The cost of 'living in a not good enough' state of mind – living authentically. Why you need to tell the truth to yourself first and then the others around you. The importance of knowing who I am is not what I do. The value of who I am is that I’m me. Defining responsibility as ‘response ability’ – the ability to respond. It actually means: I get to choose. I have a choice. Why we need to focus on living the ‘Be Do Have’ model rather than ‘Have Do Be’. The question you need to ask yourself when things aren't turning out as expected - Who was I being that this is what occurred and who do I need to be to get a different outcome?   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  The Whole Whole | #10 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1311

Today in The Change Room we distill one of the most powerful models to be used within the macro model of I Create the Whole of my Own Reality.  It’s the Whole Whole model. In this episode we’ll explore: How the whole of me, creates the whole of my own reality. Only 10% of what you create is conscious. By taking responsibility you increase your consciousness. How do I take responsibility for what shows up when it wasn't what was planned. What is the benefit of creating Z when I was creating X. There is always a reason Z shows up. There is nothing to be gained from being annoyed and pissed off by Z showing up. The importance of not getting stuck in the elephant hunt of asking 'why' things happen, instead focus on asking HOW did this happen and what purpose does it serve. It's not about the quantity of knowledge, it is about practice and awareness. Use this model for anything you want to change especially when you are not getting what you wanted.  Notice the feelings and thoughts around this, and accept that whatever occurred you caused it. Take the steps and see what shifts.  Continue to practice this over and over again.       Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  Be Do Have | #9 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1364

Today in The Change Room we are looking at the Be Do Have model. It is all about creating who we are being as a way to achieve your desired outcomes.    In this episode we explore: The Be Do Have model. Why we currently live the opposite - the Have Do Be model. It all starts with getting clear about who you want to be. Being as a state. What happens when you choose to be present, then create actions which produce the outcomes/results. Why we are not talking affirmations. How affirmations often miss an important ingredient – the truth. The daily joy of living and knowing your unshakeable truth. The truth that every human being is lovable and valuable. That love always trumps fear. Every morning before you create your action list, choose who you want to be. When things don't go as planned, think about who you were being in that moment and then choose who you need to be to have a different outcome.   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  I Create the Whole of My Own Reality | #8 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1492

Today in The Change Room we are having a big conversation around our new paradigm and framework - I create the whole of my own reality. In this episode we’ll explore: This paradigm is one way to see the world around you, it's not the only way. Just take this framework on as if it was true, important to just not dismiss it. I create and cause my own reality. Life works differently and better when you choose to take on this new paradigm. The old paradigm compared to this new framework. Why WHOLE is the key word in this paradigm. Why people push back on accepting this new framework into their lives. Why we are more frightened of our success than our failures. How you can still be part of the process without having all the answers. 10% of what we choose is conscious, 90% of it is subconscious. Look at everything as if you caused it and take responsibility for what shows up. Understand you are the cause of everything, good and bad. Look at how you created the situation, not why. Write down 5 to 10 things you want to create/manifest this week. At the end of each day, look at what happened and review how you created what showed up for you throughout the day.  Be willing to acknowledge without judgement. The importance of asking for what you need.   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here. Continue the conversation in Facebook - The Change Room Podcast Group.  Telling the Truth | #7 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1459

Today in The Change Room we are looking at another distinction - Telling the Truth. That is the truth you tell yourself.    In this episode we’ll explore: What we mean about THE truth vs MY truth. The truth we don't tell – that everybody lies and everybody knows that. Telling the truth means telling YOUR truth. My truth is what I choose through my own filters. What happens when we lie to ourselves. The thing people lie about the most -  their feelings. The difference between having a reason and choosing. You show up the best when you are showing up as your truth. How the concepts we are told in childhood are affecting our relationship with the truth. The freedom that can be found when you tell the truth. Why it is so hard to tell people the truth and the fear of being judged by others. Nothing can be changed until you share the whole truth. Exploring the lies you are telling yourself. Deep diving to ask yourself how you are truly feeling. Practice telling the truth and see what happens. Be careful to 'not blurt and hurt'. Truth starts with a nice statement not a 'you' statement. If you want people to be true to you, be ready for the discomfort it will create.   Links mentioned in the show: Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  Response Ability | #6 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1574

Today we are looking at Response Ability – that is your ability to choose how you respond to what shows up in front of you.      In this episode we’ll explore: Re- establishing the the power of context before we start exploring the context of response ability, or commonly known as responsibility. Defining what responsibility actually is and what it’s not. The impact we feel when our fear and responsibility collide. How crucial it is to stop and acknowledge how we’re feeling and what our considered response is to that feeling, at that time. The ‘reacting’ to something is actually ‘acting’ to something that is already over, and how this moment again gives us the ability to choose how we respond. That our fears are just feelings, they’re not facts, and we have the choice of how we want to respond to fear. How fear, if not responded to well can send you into a hyperdrive of doing. The fact that we get to choose our context – love or fear.   Links mentioned in the show: Episode 3 - Context Subscribe to The Change Room Podcast here.  I Am & I Do | #5 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1261

Today we are looking at the life changing distinction – I Am & I Do What happens when the things we do, don’t turn out the way we  want - and why the key for this distinction is understanding that ‘what you do’ isn't ‘who you are’.    In this episode we’ll explore: Suzy’s own experience when facing her biggest fear - not selling tickets to her annual Fearless event in 2016. When the campaign didn’t go as planned, she dealt with the paralysing feeling of ‘I'm not good enough’ and navigated her way through to capacity sales and in doing so changed this filter forever. How the blocks we experience in business, have their root cause in the underlying feelings and internal struggles rather than the practical application of business strategies. What you have done, or not done, is not who you are and doesn’t define your value. The truth about what actually happens when you stick with the uncomfortable process of cleaning up 'your stuff' , the importance of context when getting feedback and  the art of getting out of your own way so the results can come through.  Not Good Enough | #4 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1409

Today we’re dealing with the icky discomfort of the distinction ‘not good enough’ We look at how this distinction impacts our analytical skills and holds us back from producing the most extraordinary results in business, finances and life. In this episode we explore: The origins of ‘not good enough’ Why ‘I'm not good enough' is a feeling, not a fact. Why saying ‘I am good enough’ isn’t the answer How “I’m not good enough” is impacting your analytical skills How to clean your filters to improve your outcomes. Practical examples of how ‘you’re not good enough’ stories can impact your enjoyment on life and living authentically. Why it’s unadvisable to attach your self-worth to the things you do and outcomes you achieve. How to identify the things you’re not doing because you think you are not good enough.  Context | #3 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1270

Today we are unpacking the distinction called context.   We have found over the years of mentoring business owners, that it’s not the to do list that holds people back, it is the messy human emotion of feelings that holds people back from their potential. By communicating context upfront, it will help to ensure our content is received in the manner it was intended for without human emotions getting in the way.   In this episode we’ll explore: Why is context so important in our life and business Context is all about an agreement before content is delivered Once someone is aligned with the context, delivering content and communication is much easier Why we need to take responsibility to communicate the context upfront Why you need to stick with things when it gets messy When you communicate context first and get agreement, content is received and heard differently How communicating the context upfront can save your business time, energy and money The important questions you need to ask yourself - what context you are in and what do I want others to understand about the situation Practical tips for communicating context in your work and life When approaching a difficult situation stop and ask - what context caused this and what context will fix this.   Links mentioned in the show: https://www.suzyjacobs.com/

 Feelings | #2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 846

Today we're following up on the last episode about filters and continue the conversations around feelings and why we must understand that our feelings are not facts.  In this episode we’ll explore: Understanding what a feeling actually is – energy and emotions. The internal dialogue that you keep telling yourself and the impact this, largely unconscious practice can have on our feelings. How a feeling is meant to be felt for about 90 seconds. The challenges that can occur when we agree with the feelings we have that aren’t factual and how this impacts on our behaviours and actions. The need to get emotionally resourced. The realisation when you acknowledge that your feelings are not the facts, and the freedom that can be felt from speaking and identifying your truth. There are no short cuts, experience is everything and the need to keep practicing to feel your feelings. Links mentioned in the show: https://www.suzyjacobs.com/

 Filters | #1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1163

The Change Room Ep1 - Filters  Filters are the lens at which we look at life. Everyone's filters are different and each of us give different meaning to them.  Only you are the one that gives filters their meaning. In this episode we’ll explore: The real definitions of filters. The four filters that you use – experience, beliefs, values and unconscious. How our filters are developed from as early as the age of 7. The process Suzy went through to find meaning in what she was feeling. How what is ‘underneath’ can cause the greatest impact. How your energy shifts when you speak your truth. How the filter of 'I'm not good enough' lead Suzy to her exiting her business and the surprising positive outcomes for all involved. How to identify when your filters are on and knowing you’re in control to choose a different filter to be able to speak your truth.  Links mentioned in the show: https://www.suzyjacobs.com/
