 Episode 14 - Bussières/Young | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5385

Welcome to the first episode for 2019. Over recent months there has been considerable controversy in social media and in discussions within the profession regarding the role imaging, and especially plain-film x-ray use by chiropractors in light of the Choosing Wisely campaign that has been rolled across the world. Our guests this episode are Professor André Bussières from Chiropractic Department at l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and Adjunct Professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University who has led the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative and has been involved in the development of evidence-based diagnostic imaging practice guidelines for musculoskeletal complaints for chiropractors. He is joined by Dr. Kenneth Young who is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR) and a Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging at Murdoch University. He was recently awarded his PhD with the thesis title being Divergent Beam: A History of the Use of X-Rays in Chiropractic. Who better to discuss the issue of imaging and other issues impacting upon the profession at this time? Join our hosts Professors Stephen Perle and Dave Newell for another great discussion. The show notes can be found here;https://www.dropbox.com/s/ar3xhgppuqkywvp/Show%20Notes%20-%20Ep%2014%20%26%2015.pdf?dl=0Keep an eye out for Part 2 of the interview in Episode 15 in a couple of weeks.
