 Locked On Yankees - April 16, 2018 - April Glowers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1597

Jesse Spector hosts this episode, which includes a fond reminiscence of a time when the Yankees played actual baseball, something they are scheduled to get back to doing on Monday night against the Marlins.   After Miami's visit, it's the Blue Jays in the Bronx, and then the Yankees' schedule really gets tough, with a visit from the Twins, a trip to Anaheim and Houston, then home series against Cleveland and Boston. You can see why the next six games would be important to a team that is off to a 7-7 start, though the last game the Yankees played, on Friday night in Detroit, was encouraging for them.   Around the American League East, the Red Sox remain hot, the Orioles and Rays already have pretty much played themselves out of contention, and the Blue Jays... well, we're going to find out exactly what the Blue Jays are made of pretty soon. The Yankees, too, for that matter. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

 Locked On Yankees - April 13, 2018 - Fenway Flop | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1590

Omari Brown hosts this episode, recorded during the Yankees' 6-3 loss to the Red Sox on Thursday night, at the point when it was 6-0 -- which is what that game really was because even though Gary Sanchez did drive in three runs with a double in the ninth inning, once Craig Kimbrel came in to close it out, the lower part of the order was helpless against the Boston closer. So, the Yankees leave Boston with more questions than answers, including how to go about solving the problems facing them. Could one solution be Gleyber Torres, sooner rather than later?  Locked On Yankees - April 12, 2018 - Fenway Fisticuffs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1716

Larry Fleisher is your host for this episode, going over everything that happened on fight night at Fenway Park, where the Yankees bounced back from their 14-1 drubbing on Tuesday night to beat the Red Sox, 10-7, snapping Boston’s nine-game winning streak and making the Mets the team that stands alone with the best record in baseball.  Locked On Yankees - April 11, 2018 - Another Day, Another Game | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2279

Sean Saint Jacques and Gary Phillips are your hosts for this episode, with a short intro from Jesse Spector to go over the 14-1 thrashing that the Red Sox gave the Yankees on Tuesday night. Sean and Gary look ahead to Wednesday, with Masahiro Tanaka squaring off against David Price in another chance for a brilliant pitching matchup at Fenway after the Luis Severino-Chris Sale duel failed to materialize. Meanwhile, it's amazing not only that Brandon Drury didn't disclose his migraines and vision problems for six years, but that he managed to play professional baseball at a high level going through that.  Locked On Yankees - April 10, 2018 - Shipping Up To Boston | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2280

Jesse Spector is the host for this episode, which features a quick breakdown of the pitching matchups for the Yankees-Red Sox series this week at Fenway Park before Jon Tayler of Sports Illustrated stops by for the Yankee Haters' Ball for a very cordial discussion and some perspective on Boston's hot start to the season, plus a barrage of references to some playoff series in 2004 that really doesn't sound familiar to us at all and we're pretty sure he was just hallucinating. Anyway, this is episode 49, which was Tim Wakefield's number with the Red Sox, and you may remember Wakefield as the pitcher who served up the pennant-winning home run to Aaron Boone in 2003, which was, according to our records, the last time the Yankees and Red Sox met in the postseason.  Locked On Yankees - April 9, 2018 - Giancarlo's Sombreros | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1766

Jesse Spector hosts after the Yankees lost three of four to the Orioles in a weekend series that concluded with Giancarlo Stanton's second platinum sombrero of his career -- and of the opening homestand. The Yankees are playing about as badly as they can play, yet they're 5-5. Granted, the Blue Jays, Rays, and Orioles are not exactly elite competition, but even playing badly against bad teams, you could often wind up with a 3-7 or 2-8 stretch. So, how good might the Yankees be when they eventually play well? And they will eventually play well.  Stanton has been dreadful, but he can look at some of his teammates, particularly in the bullpen, and see that bad performances aren't forever. Every reliever who had an early hiccup has moved on from it, and now the bullpen looks to be taking shape as the kind of force it was expected to be. We'll see how much any or all of this changes this week in Boston, where the Yankees head to take on an 8-1 Red Sox team that could put them seven games back in the loss column by the end of the week. Is it too early for that kind of talk? Yes. Yes it is. But it's also true. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

 Locked On Yankees - April 6, 2018 - It Is April 6 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1412

Omari Brown is your host for this episode, breaking down the Yankees' loss to the Orioles on Thursday night while also providing some injury updates and some much needed perspective. It is April 6. The Yankees, still a young team, a team with a rookie manager, and a team whose best hitters and entire bullpen all have broken slowly from the gate, still have won more games than they have won in their first seven.  Locked On Yankees - April 5, 2018 - Here Come The Yankees | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2142

Locked On Yankees - April 4, 2018 - Welcome To New York (Boo) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1761

Jesse Spector hosts, and is joined by Larry Fleisher and Gary Phillips at Yankee Stadium to talk about everything that happened in the Yankees' home opener, a rollicking 11-4 triumph for the Bronx Bombers over the Tampa Bay Rays. Then, since Didi Gregorius' incredible 4-for-4, two-homer, eight-RBI performance speaks for itself, there's a lot that needs to be said about Giancarlo Stanton striking out five times and getting booed. Plus, after throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, Bucky Dent and Mickey Rivers share a story of 1978, and thoughts on 2018. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
