What do a guy from Boston, Massachusetts and a guy from Green Bay, Wisconsin have in common? Not much until they found out they were the only two guys in S scale. It’s another example of how this hobby brings people together. A locomotive engineer from CN and a civil engineer with the career spanning over four decades have created a great friendship based on model railroading. A worldwide customer base that's steadily growing, Rob's a artist with more than 40 years experience producing aviation art, rail art and more recently quality weathering on model locomotives and cars. With a PhD from the school of “Hard Knocks” he's making today’s fine scale models better with realistic weathering and sound. Rob shared lots of info with everyone at the AML Network.

Our next guest typifies what this hobby is all about. We met at the Amherst Train Show in Springfield, MA. Standing outside Jim Sacco’s City Classics booth Greg walked up and introduced himself. In his mid 30s, enthusiastic, cheerful, spoke right up and before I knew it we were having a great conversation. Originally from the north east he’s now a full-time resident in New Orleans and he gave us a very good description of the model railroading community in that part of the world. Enjoy !!

I’ve heard Kaylee's for a few years, when we finally met at this year’s Springfield Show it was obvious that all AML listeners get a chance to hear her. Her clinics about cell phone speakers producing quality sound in scale locomotives are already legendary. She moved to the Hartford, Connecticut area to support her beloved Whalers of the NHL, only to find out they’d left town decades earlier. When not working on decoder installs or building her layout she can always be found at Tom’s Trains. E

RPM meats are becoming more popular and the Mid-Atlantic is no different. Started just a few short years ago this meet has become one of the more important ones on the East Coast, catering to modelers interested and staying faithful to their prototype. Model railroad author Bernie Kempinski tells us about two days of clinics, displays, networking and camaraderie. There’s some specialized vendors and a great time will be had by all. After years in a hobby building quality models for ExactRail, Blaine Hatfield has decided to strike out on his own for a brand-new company called Arrowhead Models. This interview was done after Blaine and his family moved to Sheridan, Wyoming before announcing plans for his new company.
