Arrow Review: S6E1 Fallout | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

The last of our returning shows is here, Arrow Season 6. After the great season 5, we were a little nervous about how this season would start off but so far so good. The advances to Oliver's character from last season seem to be sticking and it's almost jarring not seeing a broken Oliver. The rest of the team however, does have a lot of demons. From Diggle to Quentin...even Oliver's son William (although Kriss thinks William needs to get his shit together). Check out our full review.   Oliver deals with the fallout of the explosion on the island.   %CODE_ARROWS6E1%  Leave a 5 Star Review for us on the Super Tuesday feed and we'll read it on the next show!  Super Tuesday Recap - Legends of Tomorrow Review S3E1 Aruba-Con | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

Legends of Tomorrow returns for season 3 by continuing to focus on its strong suits. Aruba-Con sees the Legends being “fired” by Rip Hunter who has now formed the Time Bureau to handle all time anomalies. But we quickly see that Captain Sara Lance and the Legends can be just as useful as they can be destructive. As Mick said “Sometimes we screw things up for the better.” Legends of Tomorrow continues to be the “fun” show out of all the CW DC TV shows. We get Sara kicking ass and beating up Julius Caesar, Nate and Ray bro’ing out and Rip Hunter becoming exasperated with the group he used to lead but knowing he can’t really control them (but might need them). But there are also serious moments like the moments between Jax and Stein. All in all its great to have Legends of Tomorrow back and we can’t wait to see how this season unfolds.  The Flash Review S4E1 The Flash Reborn | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

We’re back with another season of The Flash. We were disappointed with the end of season 3 of The Flash but we’re confident that season 4 will turn it around. And the first episode, The Flash Reborn, starts off pretty strong. The writers seem to be course correctly out the gate with several of the problems we had last season: * Change in Tone – This episode felt more like the beginning of season 1. Last season was too dark and that started from the first episode. Despite Barry sacrificing himself last season, the opening tone is much lighter. Kid Flash and Vibe taking down Peek-a-Boo with Iris running command reminded us of early season 1. And that’s not to say that there weren’t serious moments due to Barry’s absence but there was a good balance * Improved Characterizations for Female Characters – Iris filling the Harrison Wells role and running Team Flash finally gives Iris something to do and a purpose beyond being the future Mrs. Allen. Joe and Iris have always been the foundation of Team Flash but Iris has never really had a steady place. We’re hoping that they continue to let her grow into this leadership role even with Barry being back. We even liked the way that Caitlyn was handled this episode. While we’re still nervous about how they handle the Killer Frost persona, in this episode her medical skills and knowledge were put front and center * Barry is Finally The Flash – Now that’s not to say this episode was perfect. We think they rushed the return of Barry a bit. It would have been nice to stretch it out a bit more and see the team of Iris, Wally and Cisco working together more. But overall it was a pretty solid premiere episode.  Super Tuesday Recap - Inhumans Review: S1E3 Divide..and Conquer | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

We're back to review episode 3 of season1  of Inhumans, Divide...and Conquer. So first things first, this episode is better than the pilot and proves that Inhumans had no business being released in IMAX in the theaters in the first place. That said, there's still a lot of problems, with the main issue being Black Bolt and Medusa being uninteresting. But that could change. Some flashbacks to younger Maximus and Black Bolt revealed some missing context to their relationship and upbringing that could have been useful in the pilot. Plus there's some interesting new characters (Dr Declan) that give a glimpse of a bigger and more interesting storyline.   The show also maintains interest with villains that viewers can't get behind. While we know Maximus is the bad guy because he's trying to have his family killed, he makes a compelling case. He comes off as the voice for the "everyday man" and wants to end the discriminatory caste system. On paper he's the revolutionary out fighting for the people. His story is clearly the most interesting and relatable of the Royal Family (Karnak being the second). With only 5 episodes left, will that be enough to save this first season of Inhumans?  We'll see.   %CODE_INHUMANSS1E3%  Leave a 5 Star Review for us on the Super Tuesday feed and we'll read it on the next show!  Star Trek Discovery Review - Burnham Gets a New Captain & a 53% Roommate | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

After all these years it’s good to have Star Trek back on TV (well…sort of). On this Super Tuesday Recap episode we’re reviewing the first three episodes of Star Trek: Discovery (The Vulcan Hello, Battle at the Binary Stars, Context is for Kings). It’s a fun episode that you’re going to want to check out! Topics * Our thoughts on the three episodes so far and the direction the series is going * The blend of action and staying true to the exploration/science aspect of Star Trek * The one nitpick: They gotta stop doing prequel Star Trek shows. The technology is way too advanced * How Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham takes aspects from both Kirk and Spock * Is Captain Lorca a sociopath? He seems to lack a care for the lives of his crew (and others). How will that play with Burnham who committed mutiny in order to save hers. How will Saru handle this? * Cadet 53% Tilly * The look of the Klingons and why maybe Star Fleet should have just left them alone * The stupid decisions CBS is making with Discovery being only available through CBS All Access in the states We’ll be back in a few weeks to review the next 3 episodes of Star Trek: Discovery. Make sure you subscribe to Super Tuesday Recap on iTunes/Stitcher/Google so you don’t miss an episode.  %CODE_TREK1% Become a Patron!  Inhumans Season 1 Premiere Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

And so it begins. We’re back with our Super Tuesday Recap reviews. First up, Kriss and Dpalm tackle the season premiere of Marvel’s Inhumans. There’s been a lot of talk about this show already and most of it is not good. So is it as bad as the early reviews say? No but…it’s complicated. Dpalm plays the “good cop” on this one while Kriss is “bad cop”. The short answer is, if you’re expecting Inhumans season premiere to be on par with other Marvel TV properties  like Agents of SHIELD or Agent Carter, you’re going to be disappointed. But there is potential (as proved by the previews for the rest of the season) and it could be that the pilot was just rushed and wasted too much money on the IMAX cameras.    So we will be sticking with Inhumans (hey, there’s only 6 more episodes left). Listen to our review and check out what we thought worked and what didn’t and what we think needs to change for this series to turn around. And make sure you’re subscribe to the Super Tuesday Recap podcast on iTunes/Stitcher/Google music to stay up with all our future reviews (Inhumans, Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Star Trek Discovery and more). %CODE_INHUMANS1%  Leave a 5 Star Review for us on the Super Tuesday feed and we'll read it on the next show!
