We think what he means is, "Don't try to be someone you're not" and while it obviously applies to life, it hits hard for a lot of athletes in triathlon. Perfecting any craft is a slow burn and at the core is being realistic with yourself and your goals. It can also make the experience much more rewarding and fun.
