April is entering her 5th year as an assistant professor at the same institution she earned her undergraduate degree, interviewed by her PSYC 101 instructor. April tells her remarkable stories of perseverance through her undergraduate education and world-class graduate education, research, and mentoring experiences at UC-Davis. Our conversation ends on work-life flow and her exciting research with refugee families.

In this episode Garth and Eric interviewed Guy Boysen from McKendree University in Lebanon, IL. Guy is completely passionate about courses like abnormal psychology, and his research productivity comes from a very disciplined approach to planning and conducting research. Guy shares his origin story of growing up Catholic and attending an all-male undergraduate Catholic institution (including playing on the football team). The love of live music is important in his life, as the a musical curator.

For Garth growing up in Canada, music and church were key; he also discusses parental inspirations including the first band name. In this episode Garth and Eric interview Dana Dunn from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. This interview starts with Dana's recent leadership positions, tracing back to his research origins post-graduate school and his current work on ableism. The P3 conference was his launch in the STP world, meeting many academic legends who would become close friends. His teaching evolved to avoid being a completist, and Dana describes his writing practices, giving back, his heart being in his work, and much more.
