 No. 104 - I Was Saying Bou-cher | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:10

The Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast's Summer Series rolls on, as Elan and Brian continue to single out players who offered pleasantly surprising production in the 2015-16 NHL regular season, and look under the hood to see whether or not you can rely on them to do it again in 2016-17. Right off the bat, Elan is entertained as he goads Brian into blowing off some steam about the Ottawa Senators coaching situation, before the two of them move on to consider the possibilities of bench boss impacts around the league.  The guys also chat about a couple second-string goaltenders who might be affecting future outlooks and values for the guys who spent the bulk of 2015-16 ahead of them on the depth chart, and they sift through 10 years of rookie performances to come up with a ceiling and a floor for presumptive first overall pick and future Maple Leaf (gasp!) Auston Matthews. Players discussed on this episode include Auston Matthews, Matt Murray, Thomas Greiss, Jaro Halak, Marc-Andre Fleury, Joe Thornton, Mark Giordano, Ryan Kesler, Jaromir Jagr, Jussi Jokinen, Patrice Bergeron, William Nylander, Thomas Vanek, Mike Hoffman, Jack Eichel, Dougie Hamilton, Scott Darling, Corey Crawford, Tomas Vokoun, and more.  No. 100 - J.F. Berwhoube? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:22

It's the 100th episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast, and we're celebrating like we've been there before, as Elan and Brian forego any major celly and proceed to once again motor on through all of the latest fantasy hockey news and provide the thorough analysis that you need to win your pool. On this 100th go-around, we kick things off with some of the most notable Outjuries of the year happening at a key time, as three elite blue-liners make a return to their respective lineups with fantasy hockey championships on the line.  We also keep an eye on the continued unlikely developments in creases around the league, bouncing from St Louis, to New Jersey, to Long Island, with stops in Calgary and San Jose on the way (granted, a terribly inefficient real-life itinerary). Some unfamiliar names are heating up, including a couple Blues who are the unexpected leaders in team scoring since the start of February. Meanwhile, some very familiar names are cooling off, begging the question of whether it's time to cut bait with star players in Boston, New York and Vancouver, rather than risk running out of room in your semi-finals and finals matchups. We also take a look at a call-up in Anaheim, a very notable outjuried forward in Winnipeg, the sparse bluelines in Ottawa and Tampa, a productive Coyote d-man with initials that aren't OEL, a couple role-playing Oilers who are catching our eye, and injuries and their implications from Tampa, Pittsburgh, Montreal, Ottawa, San Jose and more. And remember: SeatGeek is offering our listeners a $20 rebate off your first ticket purchase! Just head to their website or download the app, go to your profile, and enter the promo code KEEPING before buying your tickets! Players discussed on this episode include Scott Wedgewood, J.F. Berube, Justin Faulk, John Carlson, Daniel Sedin, Robby Fabbri, Henrik Sedin, Nikolaj Ehlers, Mark Letestu, Patrick Maroon, Justin Schultz, Dion Phaneuf, Michael Stone, Jason Pominville, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Keith Kinkaid, Kevin Klein, Brian Elliott, Jake Allen, Paul Stastny, Thomas Greiss, Jared Spurgeon, David Krejci, Rickard Rakell, Rick Nash, Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Martin Jones, Paul Martin, Chris Wideman, Joni Ortio, Niklas Backstrom, Chad Johnson, Andrej Sekera, Shea Theodore, Cory Schneider, Anton Stralman, Matt Carle, Victor Hedman, Jamie McGinn, Brandon Pirri and many more. * * * Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! Oh, dear-- it's happened again. Evgeny Malkin's latest bust-up has left the Pittsburgh Penguins and your fantasy team in dire straits. But have no fear! Elan and Brian have all the tips and analysis you'll need to recover on this week's episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast. Malkin is far from the only player injured this week, as we're watching depth charts shaken up around the league as the injury ninja continues his relentless late season assault. Islanders, Canadiens, Panthers, Stars, Ducks, Avalanche and Wings are all making adjustments accordingly, and we've got the scoop on who's playing with who, and in what role. On the flipside of that coin, so many Outjuries® this week, too! This episode has our usual look and how players in Edmonton, New York, Columbus, Arizona, Chicago, Florida, Carolina and Calgary are re-entering the lineup, and whether they'll get to reclaim their usual spots or be forced to lie in wait until an opportunity presents itself. This edition winds down with a list of players who are wound up! We cover a whole slate of lesser-owned players who are hot and ready to contribute to your fantasy team, including a Long Island blue-liner, a feisty Maple Leaf, an under-the-radar young Sabre, a rookie Blue, and an I-didn't-even-know-he-was-a Devil.  No. 97 - Eric's Trip | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:50

The trade deadline has come and gone, and that means a bunch of new players in a bunch of new jerseys with a bunch of new linemates, all of which will be covered on this week's brand new edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast! Elan and Brian begin this week's show by cataloguing the myriad injuries plaguing (fantasy) teams, and which free agent acquisitions could help fill the void for both their real-life clubs and fantasy owners. Top line players hitting the shelf in Edmonton, Ottawa and Dallas highlight the segment, as well as goaltending boo-boos in New York, Ottawa, Dallas, Winnipeg, Columbus and New Jersey. Meanwhile, some healthy goalies have been knocked out of their crease for just plain ol' playing badly, and so we're also keeping tabs on evolving 'tender situations in Colorado, Detroit and Philadelphia. The show rolls on with an eye towards the most high profile players that were traded on deadline day, along with a couple under-the-radar choices whose value may have risen thanks to their new digs. We take a look at changes of scenery for a new Avalanche, Coyote, Ranger, Bruin and Duck. Finally, the show closes out with our notes on who's hot and cold over the last week or two. We tip our hat to a Penguin whose name Elan loves to say in a special way, a trio of Predators playing from the so-called second line, a pair of Lightning who need to shape up before they're shipped off, a sneaky depth blueline add making muffled noise in Vancouver, and a Detroit duo who have both gone MIA at the worst time. A reminder to our listeners that SeatGeek is offering you a $20 rebate off your first purchase! Just head to their website or download the app, go to your profile, and enter the promo code KEEPING before picking up your tickets. Brace yourselves: it's the second ever live episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast! In an action-packed 80 minutes on the air, Elan and Brian bring up and break down all of the latest news from every corner of the National Hockey League. The show kicks off with a look at the suddenly rejuvenated Wild, where we discuss if their recent mini win streak means that they're turning the corner for good, or if it's all just a mirage. We then dig deep into Brian's hoarded stash of old newspapers in an attempt to gain insight into the mind of Ken Hitchcock, and whether we can apply any hints from the past in trying to predict how he'll choose the starters in the St. Louis nets in the coming weeks. Other creases around the league get a similar glimpse, including goaltending 'situations' in Buffalo, Long Island, and Carolina. Then, we turn our attention to some of the hottest-- and coldest-- players in the NHL, and take a look under the hood to see whether or not a change in fortune awaits them in the near future, for better or for worse. And, finally, we take a few questions from our live studio audience, including thoughts on Anaheim's front and back ends, best candidates for a change of scenery, a potential hole to be filled on Calgary's top line, and which NHLer we'd want to see on Survivor.Players discussed on this episode include Jared Staal, Jason Spezza, Patrick Sharp, Jason Pominville, Jake Allen, Brian Elliott, Charlie Coyle, Martin Hanzal, Cam Ward, Eddie Lack, Joakim Nordstrom, Brayden Schenn, Martin Hanzal, Robin Lehner, Thomas Greiss, Jaroslav Halak, Shane Gostisbehere, Kyle Turris, Mike Green, Matthew Dumba, Mikko Koivu, Jared Spurgeon, Ryan Callahan, Marian Hossa, Andrew Shaw, Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, Bryan Little, Nikolai Ehlers, Andrew Ladd, Jiri Hudler, David Perron, Cam Fowler, Ryan O'Reilly, Evander Kane, Ivan Provorov, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Kevin Connauton, Michael Stone, Andre Burakovsky, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Claude Giroux, Mattias Janmark, Patrick Eaves, Ales Hemsky, Sam Gagner, Martin Erat, Marty Turco, Ed Belfour, John Scott, and more.* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! If you enjoy the show, please support future episodes by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson. Keeping Karlsson patrons can join our patron-only Facebook group and take part in (and receive audio from) a monthly live, face-to-face and interactive Keeping Karlsson recording! You can also support us by telling a friend, subscribing to and reviewing Keeping Karlsson on iTunes, and following us on Twitter (@keepingkarlsson). First off, an announcement: after the success and positive feedback from last week's live show, we've decided to do it again! You can join the Blab hangout at keepingkarlsson.com/live.This brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast begins with a late-season Smörgoaliesbord reprise, in which Elan and Brian rank a smattering of largely unproven and somewhat undesirable goalies that are being pressed into action in Columbus, Montreal, Winnipeg and Arizona. We continue on with news and analysis of the latest injuries and outjuries-- and a trade!-- and how they've affected depth charts around the league especially on the back-end in Florida, Ottawa, St. Louis, Minnesota and Vancouver. Finally, we break down some of the hottest fantasy performers of the last 10 days, including an unlikely trio of Panthers, a not at all but kind of related pair of Avalanche(s?), a zanily-deployed Senator, and a freshly promoted Predator.Players discussed in this episode include: Sergei Bobrovsky, Joonas Korpisalo, Carey Price,  Ben Scrivens, Connor Hellebuyck, Ondrej Pavelec, Kari Ramo, Jonas Hiller, Loui Domingue, Anders Nilsson, Laurent Brossoit, Jason Spezza, Patrick Eaves, Patrick Sharp, Alex Edler, Brandon Sutter, Chris Tanev, Ben Hutton, Bo Horvat, Radim Vrbata, Jonas Brodin, Jared Spurgeon, Matt Dumba, Charlie Coyle, Jason Pominville, Alex Barkov, Vincent Trocheck, Jussi Jokinen, Reilly Smith, Alex Pietrangelo, Colton Parayko, Jaden Schwartz, Dion Phaneuf, Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner, Connor McDavid, Taylor Hall, Leon Draisaitl, Jarome Iginla, Blake Comeau, JP Pageau, Calle Jarnkrok and more!* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes!
