Board Games in Bed

This week we played a lot of games. So many that we couldn't bring ourselves to talk about anything else! So we are skipping the pillow talk and just discussed them all! From my memory we discussed Inis, Whitehall Mystery, Cosmic Encounter, HMS Doleres, China Town, Star Realms, In Vino Morte, Arrogance, Timeline British History, Pocket Mars and Spyfall! We are both quite family orientated so its not uncommon for us to get to play games with our grandparents, but this can bring its own set of challenges. Our desire to play new games with complex rules is sometimes at odds with our grandparents who prefer traditional games they are more familiar with. This week we are discussing the games we enjoy playing with our grandparents and the considerations we take when deciding what to play. Is a damaged game worth the discount? How important is a boxes appearance to your enjoyment of the game? What's better than your favourite board game? Your favourite board game with more bits! This week we played a lot of expansions (for us at least) so we are discussing them and the concept of expansions. Do you really need all the extra bit or is it just a cynical ploy to get you to spend more money! We also discuss some of the other games we played this week including Bang! We are obviously fans of playing games with your partner and this board games form a happy and healthy part of our relationship. It's the last day of 2017 so it seems only fitting that we have a bit of a retrospective of the year. Using the BG Stats app which I have been diligently recording all our plays on, we review the year in gaming for us including some facts and figures from a years worth of data, our progress in our 10 by 10 challenge (a year long challenge to play 10 games 10 times), and some of our gaming highlights for the year. This last week has seen a lot of fun family festivities with a weekend away with Kelly's family, a party with our friends family the week before and unsurprisingly a lot of board games!
