In the Morning service Tim and Tom continued on with our Fruits of the Spirit series speaking on peace. They spoke on three different aspects of peace, peace with God, peace with ourselves and peace with others. They summerised that that Jesus made a way for us to have perfect peace and because the spirit lives inside of us, we can have peace in every situation! Romans 5:1, ‘Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ’

Joy comes from heaven and is eternal, it is greater than happiness which is only a circumstance based emotion, however both are important to have in our lives. You can have Joy in every circumstance, all you need is Holy Spirit!

In the evening Tom spoke on how we need to be empty vessels for Jesus. We were sinners but God still chose us, just like Peter was a failed fisherman at the moment Jesus sat in his boat (entered into his life). Jesus still asked Peter to be His disciple despite his failings.

In the morning Alistair spoke on how we are loved and how we should reflect that in our own lives. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son! This is the love that God has towards us, agape love a selfless love. This is how we should love.

In the evening service Stu brings us a message on the spirit wanting his fruit back. He encourages us to not present a human version of spiritual fruit. We should go out in Christ, one with God, filled with the Holy Spirit and the spiritual fruit will come out of us. Whatever you are good at, gifted with, born with, none of it compares to allowing the fruits of the spirit to be exhibited in your life. Stu challenges us to encourage each other to spend time learning what it looks like to abide in Jesus, to dwell in him, so that it is the fruit of the spirit that is shown in your life. Saying yes to Jesus will change your life, living in Jesus will change everyone else’s life.

In the morning Lead Pastor Tom Allsop kicked off our series on the fruit of the spirit by focusing in on the source, Holy Spirit. Tom highlighted that they are from him and as Christians we should seek after Holy Spirit instead of just desiring the fruits.

In the Morning service Abi spoke on the topic of repentance and how it is at the a central part of the Gospel. Repentance is both an act and a journey. Looking into the greek word for Repentance, used in the bible, Metanoia you can see it has 4 main meanings and parts to it: conviction, confession, contrition and correction. When you repent and live in a lifestyle of repenting for your sins you go through this journey.

In the evening Chlo spoke on the death of Jesus and how he sacrificed Himself for us but we must choose to come to the alter and lay ourselves down before the Lord to receive our breakthrough and allow Him to launch us into greater things.

In the morning serve Stu spoke about how the cross of Christ is applicable to everyone. He challenged us that no matter what stage you are in, God can give you more. Going through a great season, He can lift you higher, going through a hard season, He can get you out!

In the evening session Sarah talks about the importance of knowing that God is the abundant one. Referencing Deuteronomy 2v7 & 8v4, Matthew 5v3 and Luke 6v20 she teaches us about the grace of god wanting to sustain us wherever we are just like he sustained the Israelites for 40 years in the desert. We should all be aware of our need for his grace and provision, we do not own anything ourselves but we all have access to everything of his. He is the abundant one.

In the morning service Tom challenges us with the message, what does it look like to live in overflow? Taking reference from John 10v10, Mark 8v8, and Ephesians 3 Tom discusses the heart of god wanting us to live in overflow, we are designed to be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God, but it is not just about being filled but living a life of abundance and overflow. We are not meant to endure life but enjoy life.
