Nathaniel Barnes, the new captain of the GCPD, arrives with the goal of cleaning up both the police department and the city's corruption. He starts by removing some of the corrupt police officers from his services. With the help of Gordon who he makes his new second-in-command, Barnes recruits several aspiring police trainees from the Gotham City Police Academy in order to form a strike force to help set his goal into motion. With Mayor Aubrey James still missing from the public and Deputy Mayor Harrison Kane dead, Theo Galavan, councilwoman Janice Caulfield (Saundra Santiago), and Randall Hobbs (Michael Mulheren) begin to run for office as a new mayor election begins. Theo Galavan kidnaps Cobblepot's mother and blackmails Cobblepot into murdering all of the candidates so that Galavan can run for office unchallenged. While Cobblepot kills Janice Caulfield, one of the candidates escapes death at the hands of Victor Zsasz with the help of the GCPD strike force.
DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE #2 COLLECTOR’S EDITION Written by FRANK MILLER and BRIAN AZZARELLO Art by ANDY KUBERT and KLAUS JANSON Cover by JIM LEE On sale JANUARY 6 • 40 pg, FC, 7.0625” x 10.875”, $12.99 US • RATED T+ This oversized paper-over-boards COLLECTOR’S EDITION features both stories from DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE #2 at the same size! Obviously DC still isn't revealing much about the plot of The Dark Knight III, but the issue #2 solicit does confirm that Carrie Kelly will play a major role in the story. Carrie has apparently evolved from being Robin in The Dark Knight Returns to Catgirl in The Dark Knight Strikes Again to assuming the mantle of Batman proper in this sequel. This lends credence to early rumors that The Dark Knight III will parallel the original and revolve around Carrie seeking her superhero successor. We'll find out more about this futuristic Batman epic when the first issue hits stories in November.
Diggle, Thea, and Laurel continue fighting crime in Star City, recently renamed in Ray's honor. City leadership, which includes Captain Quentin Lance, meet to discuss a group of criminals named the "Ghosts", who are terrorizing the city. Damien Darhk shows up, claiming to control the Ghosts and warning the city leaders to stand aside and let the city die. After they refuse, Darhk systematically begins assassinating each of them, but fails to kill Lance. Laurel and Thea contact Oliver, asking him to return to help them stop the Ghosts, much to the disagreement of Diggle. The team tracks the Ghosts, where they witness Darhk using some form of mystical energy manipulation. Working together, the team stop his plot to kill hundreds at a train station. Afterward, Oliver takes the name "Green Arrow" and broadcasts a message to the city vowing to be a beacon of hope, while Lance is revealed to be working with Darhk. In a flashforward to six months later, Oliver and Barry stand at a freshly filled grave; the name is not revealed. In flashbacks, Amanda Waller finds Oliver and forces him back on Lian Yu to assess a new threat.
DC COMICS TALK Podcast Episode 18 - 2015 NYC Coverage, BATMAN V SUPERMAN
Ronnie and Professor Stein turn into Firestorm and destroy the singularity, but at the cost of Ronnie's life. Six months later, Barry is now working on his own to avoid hurting any more of his friends and family; Cisco works in the police department alongside Joe and his metahuman task force, and Caitlin works at Mercury Labs. The city holds a ceremony honoring the Flash for his work in saving the city where they give him the key to the city. At the ceremony they are attacked by Al Rothstein whose strength and size manipulation prove too much for Barry to handle on his own. He is convinced by Joe and the others that he needs help in taking down certain metahumans and Barry defeats Al by allowing him to absorb too much radiation. In his dying breath, Al tells Barry that he was sent to kill him by someone named Zoom. Barry also receives a hard drive from Eobard Thawne containing his confession to killing Nora that finally proves Barry's father's innocence. They throw a party where Henry tells Barry that he won't stay in Central City, thinking that it could hold back Barry's duty as the Flash.

With the GCPD still recovering from the massacre inflicted by the Maniax, Gordon and Bullock begin searching for Jerome. They decide to check the home of Jerome's father, Paul Cicero. They arrive just after Cicero is murdered by Jerome but Jerome manages to escape. Elsewhere, Theo Galavan reveals the next stage of his plan as Barbara has a romantic encounter with Tabitha. Theo states that his family built Gotham and that he will get revenge on those who stole the credit for doing so. As the plan moves forward, Theo attends a charity event that Alfred, Bruce and Leslie Tompkins also attend. Despite the efforts of Gordon, Jerome and Barbara take the charity attendants hostage and kill the lieutenant mayor, per Theo's plan. When Theo attempts to act like he is stopping Jerome with the goal of making himself look like a hero, Jerome betrays Theo and attempts to kill Bruce. Theo then stabs Jerome in the neck and kills him, fulfilling his goal. Later, several Gotham citizens see Jerome's actions on television and begin having mental breakdowns. At Theo's home, he is kissed by Barbara as a jealous Tabitha watches in secret. Later, Bullock pays a visit to Oswald Cobblepot, threatening to beat him if he approaches Gordon for a favor again, as he still views him as Fish Mooney's manservant, and not the mob boss he has become.
Following his reinstatement, Gordon is thrust onto the high-profile case tracking the deadly inmate escape from Arkham Asylum. Meanwhile, Galavan plans his next move, while Bruce enlists the help of his father’s old friend to unlock the secrets in his office, and Nygma attempts to ask out Kristin Kringle (guest star Chelsea Spack) on a date in the all-new “Rise of the Villains: Knock, Knock” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Sept. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-202) (TV-14 L, V)
Gordon is fired by Commissioner Loeb for his role in Carmine Falcone's escape, while Bullock resigns from the police. Still determined to clean up the corruption in the police department, Gordon makes a deal with Cobblepot, who is now Gotham City's kingpin of crime, and Cobblepot agrees to force Loeb to reinstate Gordon as a detective and resign as police commissioner, being replaced by Essen, after Gordon does Cobblepot a favour by stealing money and accidentally murdering an unruly underboss.
