Summary: Gordon is fired by Commissioner Loeb for his role in Carmine Falcone's escape, while Bullock resigns from the police. Still determined to clean up the corruption in the police department, Gordon makes a deal with Cobblepot, who is now Gotham City's kingpin of crime, and Cobblepot agrees to force Loeb to reinstate Gordon as a detective and resign as police commissioner, being replaced by Essen, after Gordon does Cobblepot a favour by stealing money and accidentally murdering an unruly underboss.
