Sacred Bass Sessions Vol. 1 : Beyond the Dream Dome (for Sabbahji) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This musical mix by Kaya Rainface is a soundtrack for our vision of Sacred Bass Sessions, like a mission statement, or a map to the subconscious nooks and crannies of your mind. It features music from the West Coast's finest DJs, producers and sound shamans, artists we either have already booked to play an upcoming SBS or are actively pursuing. The low-end mystical flow is deeply inspired by Rainface's time spent in the DreamDome at Photosynthesis 6 this past summer. www.sacredbass.org facebook.com/sacredbass

Autumanal Equinox III | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The rains have returned in a big way to the wet side of the Cascades mountain range this week, signaling the definitive end of another gorgeous, carefree, playful summer in Ish River Country. We've been keeping summer hours here at the Podcast Cafe, releasing a couple of kick-ass bootleg concerts from the Dead and Panic but otherwise focused on outdoor pursuits. As the season shifts, the Cafe springs back to life, with customers coming back around looking for steaming bowls of soup, hot toddies, spruce tip martinis and a place next to our blazing hearth. We're excited to welcome the winter weather back, and along with it all things cozy and good. Here's a mix we've been tinkering with off and on for a month, full of new/recent songs from many of our standby favorites, but with a twist: our buddy DJ Playaduster from Destination Burning Man.com dropped in midway through our mixing and we decided to let him share some new music from the Realms of Elektronika to spice up the mix. He eases his entry in with the familiar voice of Bon Iver before launching off in to a half-hour journey that makes our heads spin and feet move….before we take back the controls and land the Fundiship back on Planet Earth just in time for dessert at the Cafe with amazing new songs from Mazzy Star (!!!), Pearl Jam and, finally, the sweet strains of Sam Beam. Hope you all enjoy!

Widespread Panic + Dirty Dozen Brass Band * Las Vegas, July 2013 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band opened for Widespread Panic during their two-night stand at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV on July 12-13, 2013. Of course, several of the horn players from the Dirty Dozen joined Panic onstage to help them jam out some of their funky, bluesy, swampy, git-down tunes. This mix collects all nine songs that the boys collaborated on, sharing some of the mightiest, most epic WSMFP I've heard in a very long time!

Grateful Dead May '77 set one | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

An amalgamation of first set songs from the Grateful Dead circa May 1977. These are the best first set nuggets culled from the new box set from Rhino Records, "Five Days in May." Remastered, rebalanced and rejujued, this is the Dead at one of their 4 or 5 musical peaks. We open with two songs that find the band energetic yet ragged, like a runner bursting out of the gates before the starting bell….Bertha and Music Never Stopped give them ample opportunity to warm up and start to locate the communal groove. We then take a tromp through a slew of classic songs that showcase the restraint and complexity of their playing, Rose, Cassidy, Brown-Eyed, Jack A Roe, all right in that warm pocket of the groovy, earthy 70s. Listen to Jerry's guitar somehow weave together elements of country, jazz, funk, bluegrass, rock and disco, as if to demonstrate that all American popular music shares a common rootstock. Lazy > Supplication finds the Dead opening up the gates for the first time in to an unrestrained instrumental jam. By the time we get to High Time, Jack Straw and Half-Step, we are in the presence of a warmed-up band playing honest, heartfelt music that takes in all strands of  American roots music while simultaneously leans in to the future, creating something brand new from shards of the past. The band has found their groove in this twilight of the first set and saunter through the countryfied psychedelic landscapes with an ease bordering on swagger. Dancin' in the Street brings the parade of set one songs to a rousing, all-on conclusion -- hear the Grateful Dead tease disco, and find both funk and flat-pickin' somewhere deep in that groove.

Grateful Dead Spring 1990 Highlights 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

DJ Fundi took it upon himself to comb through the more than 20 hours of live Dead recordings found on the new Spring Tour 1990 box set, finding favorite moments, sweet ballads and stellar jams, then blending them together in to this "highlight mix." Its like Fantasy Grateful Dead, pick and choose your own set list, create your dream show! It is sequenced and mixed so as to emulate what you might hear at a show. Lots of Jerry here, as you might imagine, alongside Bobby, Phil and Brent singing their best too. Everyone sounds just great here.
