Technique Matters with Dave Durante | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3342

Dave is a gymnast yes, but this is still a weightlifting podcast and you better believe we are holding to that theme! Dave is a very talented coach and teacher and he possesses significant knowledge about areas that are very commonly weak/imbalanced for many sport specific weightlifters. We hope this can be a wake up call for any weightlifters that perhaps need to hear the message. If you want to be the best weightlifter you can be...lift as much weight over your head as you can, then try thinking in terms of being a COMPLETE athlete first(flexible and balanced.) Yes sport specificity is necessary to bring out your highest level, but stop for a minute and take an honest look at yourself. Any holes that you have might mean limited potential, lack of progress, reversing results, and/or stalled training. Always remember to be a master of the basics first with patience and discipline, and like Dave says, "TECHNIQUE MATTERS!"More about Dave...Dave is a multiple time USA gymnastics national champion and was part of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Team as alternate. After retiring from competition, David helped coach his alma mater, Stanford University, to an NCAA Team Title in 2009. Currently, Dave leads Team Power Monkey and coaches at 2 CrossFit gyms in NYC.
