Anthony and Harrison give their thoughts on the #Lakers' first summer league in an impromptu podcast from Las Vegas. The game was dominated by an unforeseen force.

The #Lakers made the biggest deal of the #NBA offseason: They acquired Jose Calderon from the #Bulls via trade. Anthony and Harrison react to that, along with the rest of free agency to this point.

Kirk Henderson (@KirkSeriousFace) stops by the Lounge to talk about what Chandler Parsons might bring to the Lakers. There has been some reported mutual interest between the two parties, so the conversation is certainly timely. On top of that, he talks about Dirk Nowitzki’s relationship with the Mavericks in comparison to Kobe Bryant’s with the Lakers. Great stuff from Kirk. 

After years of planning, hoping, missing out on free agents and watching awful basketball to maintain the flexibility needed to field a competitive roster at some point down the line, the Lakers wound up with… Drum roll, please. I’m waiting. Still waiting. TIMOFEY MOZGOV! We react.

Anthony Irwin and Harrison Faigen are joined by Tom Fehr (also of Silver Screen & Roll) to talk about the days leading up to free agency. The Lakers have been spurned not just by Kevin Durant and Hassan Whiteside, but somehow couldn’t get a meeting with either of the two. They appear to have moved on, so the guys talk about what that might entail either with specific names, or the type of players the Lakers might be interested in. 

So, apparently Jim and Jeanie Buss still aren’t getting along, which isn’t necessarily all that newsworthy. Nothing new to see there. The timing of which these reports came out struck Anthony and Harrison as odd, so they took a deep dive into one of the bigger stories to come up so far this offseason. Who might’ve leaked the information? Why would they do so? What does it mean for the Lakers moving forward? It’s all covered here.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ last several years have been dour, mostly joyless affairs, as fans closely following the team are certainly aware. There has been a pretty consistent cycle in Los Angeles since 2014: draft a promising player, strike out in free agency, have all the hope from the summer effortlessly crushed by the rest of the NBA running roughshod over the team for 82 games, and then get another exciting draft pick. The draft played out just about exactly as was expected, so Anthony and Harrison figure out ways say a bunch of stuff they already said. They also look ahead to the opening moments of free agency. More specifically: Who the Lakers should call at midnight of July 1st.
