Christmas is for salvation. God sent his Son into the world to save it, not condemn it.
Christ came at Christmas to build a bridge across the chasm of sin to eternal life, but the name of the bridge is purity. The only way to eternal life is along the path of sanctification.
Since you are called to something high, go low.
What is God's glory, and what is its role throughout the book of Romans?
God is sovereign not only over our belief, but also our unbelief. He plans both for his glory in all things.
We exist to know and enjoy and praise and display the glory of God’s free and sovereign grace.
God calls his people to honor him with their bank accounts by simplifying and serving.
As once-adoring followers disappear, Jesus’s message becomes clearer and clearer: Their resistance itself is in God’s hands.
God uses little towns and youngest sons and slingshots to magnify his glory in order to show that he is not the least dependent on human glory or greatness or achievement.

What do we need that new birth gives us?
If God did not make us alive to his glory, we would remain dead — completely enslaved to our sins.
Jesus’s perfect obedience is yours through faith. He obeyed perfectly so that the Father could welcome you wholly.

In order for us to know God, he must teach us who Jesus really is.
