Podcasts:
Tonight on GeekNights, Emily and Rym talk about their recent trip to Japan. But first, we consider Torchlight 2 (delayed), Occupy Wall Street doing what they do, and some gaming.
Tonight on GeekNights, straight out of Burning Apocalypse Con, we have Jared Sorensen in the studio to talk about, among other things, Z-Ward, Danish roleplaying, Lacuna 2, conventions, Action Castle, and movies.
Tonight on GeekNights, we review the much-hyped (and justifiably so) Redline. It's worth your while. It's also worth a non-anime-fan's while. It's also put out by Madhouse. Akio may or may not have a cameo.
Tonight on GeekNights, in preparation for the upcoming Burning Apocalypse Con, we bring the right honorable Luke Crane on the show to talk about, in case you couldn't guess, Burning Apocalypse Con. We also chat about Greg Stafford's Pendragon, RISK Legacy, and Burning Wheel Gold. Luke Crane also has a special announcement. In benefit to the medical bills of an important member of the Burning Wheel crew hospitalized with stroke, Luke will be creating a custom Mouse Guard hack, the details of which will be forthcoming.
Tonight on the GeekNights Book Club, we bring you our full and final thoughts on The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm (and the Oxford Comma) by Nancy Farmer. It's a charming, light book, set in a future Africa, that should be an enjoyable read for anyone who isn't a filthy Gondwanan. Up next on the GeekNights Book Club, we discuss The Little Prince and Wind, Sand, and Stars by Antoine de Saint-Exup
Tonight on GeekNights, with Rym out of town, we have guest host Luke Burrage bringing you his (somewhat ancient on account of Rym not uploading this long ago when he should have) thoughts on Ricochet Robots and Set! Also, don't forget that Burning Apocalypse Con is coming up, and we have an exclusive interview with Luke Crane talking all about it! Stay tuned for a Tuesday special!
Tonight on GeekNights, continuing with our full review of all of the New 52 from DC, including Batman and Robin, Batwoman, Deathstroke, Demon Knights, Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E., Green Lantern, Grifter, Legion Lost, Mister Terrific, Red Lanterns, Resurrection Man, Suicide Squad, and Superboy. Rym's in Japan, so if you're looking for our coverage of the New York Comic Con, stay tuned in the next few weeks!
Tonight on GeekNights, as it's a big part of Scott's job, we talk about the Amazon Web Services in a general sense. In the news, Anonymous targets child pron sites (closer to Scott's suggestions for impressive hacks), and Ice Cream Sandwich cometh alongside the Galaxy Nexus. Rym is also disappearing for Japan for some weeks, but this should not interrupt your regularly scheduled GeekNights.
Tonight on GeekNights, in a short special (since Rym is preparing to leave for Japan for a couple of weeks), we talk about our adventure making sushi for the first time. We also talk at length about the TSA's expanding reach, the inability of political discussion to go anywhere (in Scott's opinion), and a proposal to let wealthy land-owners bypass our immigration queues.
Tonight on GeekNights, we discuss videogame reviews like this Super Mario Brothers 3 review. In the news, Chromium issue #44106 and the recent broken CounterStrike update have a lot in common, and Notch gets deserved justice.
Tonight on GeekNights, we begin reviewing the New 52 from DC Comics. We begin with Justice League, Action Comics, Animal Man, Batgirl, Batwing, Detective Comics, Green Arrow, Hawk and Dove, Justice League International, Men of War, O.M.A.C., Static Shock, Stormwatch, and Swamp Thing! Some of them are pretty good. Some of them are, well... In the news, the New York Comic Con (and what's left of the vestigal New York Anime Festival is this weekend, and alcohol's effects are possibly largely based on cultural perception.
Tonight on GeekNights, we talk a but about the problems the maintainers of databases (such as the lawsuit against the time zone database) of fact can face, despite their importance to society and the Internet as a whole. We take more than a moment to mourn the passing of Quickster, and wonder at the future of Google DART, We also have the answer to what "St Oui" was all about.
Tonight on GeekNights, we consider the issues and debates surrounding proper footwear and matching bags. But first, they terk our JERBS (that we refuse to do in the first place), and funny looking shoes are about as effective as goggles.
Tonight on GeekNights, we review the surprising and interesting Rock of Ages. In the news, id releases Rage, Xenonauts might be X-Com, and Risk Legacy brings statefulness to boardgames (for good or ill, we cannot yet say).
Tonight on GeekNights, we bring you the exciting conclusion to the GeekNights Worst Webcomic Contest! We want to thank all of our submitters: you're all jerks! Second, we want to thank all of our "entries:" remember that even the "worst" creative output is better than no output! If you're going to do something, OWN it. Before this, however, we geekbite Thundercats, and a pretty-cool Madoka Majica poster is sold for way too much money. Now, we cover the following comics. Some of them are NOT safe for work. However, they're surprisingly not that bad. Some of them are downright excellent, and some of them are fine, just not for us. Mama is...
