Billy Connolly, Garrett Millerick & Joe Kelly, Irish Women’s Hockey & Morning Horns | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:23:00

On the Comedy Cast this week Billy Connolly is our Legend of Comedy. We have English stand-up comedian Garrett Millerick on to speak about his latest Edinburgh Fringe Festival Show Sunflower, we have guitarist Joe Kelly formerly of Welcome Back Delta and now of UpShot to speak about both bands and myself and Seamus speak about why Irish people now love women’s hockey and we also ponder on morning erections. https://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Billy-Connolly-Garrett-Millerick-Joe-Kelly-Irish-Womens-Hockey-and-Morning-Horns.mp3 Best Podcasts We kick off the podcast speaking about why a morning glory isn’t really a proper boner, it’s just a piss horn. We have to record in the morning this week and we speak about whether anything interesting ever happens in the morning. Some people love mornings, then again some people love Donald Trump so obviously some people are morons. Next up we speak about the death of BBC entertainer Barry Chuckle at the age of 73. Amazingly Seamus had never heard of the Chuckle Brothers so I have to fill him in on the much-loved children’s entertainer. We get chatting then about what’s inevitably going to happen with the British media, they’ll try to dig up some dirt on the dead celebrity and we somehow end up having a disagreement about political correctness. Comedy Podcasts Next up we have our first interview with English comedian Garrett Millerick. Garrett is currently up at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival performing his new show Sunflower. Garrett’s had a tough year to say the least but putting together his new show for this year’s Fringe has helped him to deal with what him and his wife went through. We speak a bit about him formerly running a comedy club and why sometimes the best comedians are miserable. Back then to myself and Seamus and we have a chat about the Irish women’s hockey team. You may have heard that they came second in the world at a recent tournament, but can we really celebrate a team that loses 0-6 in the final? Can we really get behind a team that has Ireland’s Call as their anthem instead of the proper Irish national anthem? And anyway, isn’t hockey for snobs? Yea, look, well done and all but jaysus lads, give up with the bandwagon crap, are yous so desperate to win that you’ll only shout for a team that’s winning? Maybe that’s why Ireland has so many Manchester United fans and why we don’t attend our our football league enough, we’re a nation of glory hunters and fair-weather fans. Baby names are next, we choose some baby names and we follow the instruction on this Journal.ie article. It’s ludicrous but sure that’s what we’re here for. Joe Kelly is a former guitarist with the blues/metal rock band Welcome Back Delta and he’s our next guest. We have a chat about the highs and lows of the band’s career and we speak about his exciting new band UpShot. Billy Connolly Finally then to finish up the podcast we have our Legends of Comedy section. This week it’s none other than the one and only Billy Connolly. Billy Connolly is a huge shared he

Murder, She Didn’t Write, Bullet Girl and Bill Hicks | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:06:31

Singing Cops, Our Reality TV pitches and Bill Hicks is our Legend of Comedy. We have interviews with Lizzy Skrzypiec of Murder She Didn’t, on now at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Dylan Keenan from the Dublin band Bullet Girl. https://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E11-Elizabeth-Skrzypiec-Bullet-Girl-and-Bill-Hicks.mp3 Welcome once again to The Comedy Cast, check out the website for old podcasts and my comedy documentary, Funny How. You can listen on iTunes here and on Android here, or just hit the play button above this paragraph. Best Comedy Podcasts We kick off the podcast by speaking about the viral phenomenon of singing American cops. It’s a bit weird isn’t it? Like, yea cops are human too but shouldn’t they really be working when in work and not working on choreographed lip-syncing battles. Call us old fashioned, but yea cops should do cops things, well, the things they’re supposed to be doing, you know what we mean. You have to wonder what would be the case if Irish cops started doing this, would it all be lads miming to Richie Kavanagh’s hits or Nathan Carter, maybe we’d see a rebel doing a Metallica songs. God knows, but as Seamus says, at least our cops pretend to give a toss about their jobs. Elizabeth Skrzypiec is our comedy guest this week. She’s a member of the Bristol-based improv comedy group, Degrees of Error. At this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival they are putting on their smash-hit show Murder, She Didn’t, so we speak about the show, what attracted her to improv comedy and how to come out of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival intact. Funny Comedy Podcasts Love Island is over. We didn’t watch it but it was difficult to avoid when all the rags and radio stations are yapping about it. Anyway, we rip on it and we get talking about what we’d like to pitch to television producers if we were allowed to make our own reality television programmes. We have our musical guest on then, Dylan Keenan from Dublin guitar-band Bullet Girl. I totally fell in love with this band when I came across them here such a wonderful fuzzy guitar sound and vocals as well. We quickly got talking about our shared love for grunge and Sonic Youth in particular and we chat about the rock scene in Dublin. Bill Hicks Podcast Back to Seamus and myself then, we close the show by speaking about another Legend of Comedy, Bill Hicks. We hope you like the show and please continue to tell your friends all about us. Speak to you next week, g’luck.  Rose Robinson, The Alaskan Pipeline, & Robin Williams Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:09:44

Hello and welcome once again to The Comedy Cast, as per usual I’m joined by the brilliant Seamus Kelly who challenges Conor McGregor’s auld man to a scrap, we speak about weirdos who like climbing up things for no real reason and we have our first Legends of Comedy sections where we speak about the life and comedy of Robin Williams. Can we call this one the Robin Williams Podcast? http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E11-Rose-Robinson-The-Alaskan-Pipeline-Mr-McGregor-Snr-Gets-a-Challenge-and-Robin-Williams-is-our-first-Legend-of-Comedy.mp3 Listen on iTunes: here or Android: here Follow Spud on Twitter: here Follow Seamus on Twitter: here Best Comedy Podcasts We kick off the podcast and we have a chat about what Conor McGregor’s Dad has been up to. The UFC fighter’s Dad had a weird rant on Instagram where he made a video where he was complaining about getting change in coins from a ticket machine and the coins couldn’t fit into his Hugo Boss suit pockets. We speak then about Conor McGregor apparently being in trouble for posing for a photo with Russia’s head honcho Vladimir Putin. What follows then is a challenge to a duel. Seamus vs McGregor Snr. on a Dart. Embed from Getty Images Next up we have our first interview of the day. We have Rose Robinson from the upcoming Edinburgh Fringe Festival show Great British Mysteries 1599. The show is a comedic murder mystery set in 1599 and I’ll let the press release fill in the rest “the sleuthing double act give their audience a whistle stop tour of life in 16th century England. At a time when beheadings, bear baiting and bureaucratic bouts of torture are de rigueur, our heroes set sail on a witch hunt armed with only a quill and a bottle of something yellow.” We speak about the concept of the show, how Rose and her costar Will Close came up with the concept and how they wrestled with all of the necessary research. We also speak about their hopes for getting it made for television or radio and she gives her number one tip for surviving a month-long shenaginans of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. You can follow Rose on Twitter:

Interview with Jeremy Nicholas, Surf Green & We Want To Get Stuffed When We Die | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:14:24

Jeremy Nicholas, Surf Green Interviews and much, much more! We have interviews with English stand-up comedian Jeremy Nicholas, Northern Irish band, Surf Green and we chat about getting stuffed when we die and how we’d market the Irish language. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E10-Jeremy-Nicholas-Surf-Green-We-Wanna-Get-Stuffed-When-We-Die-1.mp3 Follow Spud on Twitter: here Follow Seamus on Twitter: here Comedy Podcasts We have a whopper of the podcast, we have comedian Jeremy Nicholas on to speak about his debut Edinburgh Fringe Festival show After Dinner Stories, we have Northern Irish band Surf Green on to speak about their new EP, 100 Percent and myself and our ever hilarious co host Seamus Kelly speak about Dead Birds on my doorstep and Seamus wanting to be stuffed after he dies so he can watch his wife doing it. We kick off the podcast and speak about the Irish language and why it should be marketed as the language you can speak around the Brits and they won’t understand what you’re saying. Jeremy Nicholas We welcome onto the show Jeremy Nicholas, a former broadcast journalist who is making his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his show, After Dinner Stories. So we speak about his career as a journalist, how he got into stand-up comedy and how he was once held up by a man claiming to be Jesus when doing a breakfast radio programme. Seamus and I get talking then about something weird going at Spud’s house, dead birds keep turning up at his front door. Now, there’s something strange going on, since moving into the new house dead birds keep turning up around the front door. Is it revenge, someone hates the foreigner, or maybe there’s a rather large cat who’s bringing gifts. The birds keep getting bigger in size too, maybe they’re working up to an ostrich? Or the Chicken from Family Guy? This brings us onto talking about revenge, I’ll be honest here, most of my day is taken up with thought of revenge fantasies so we speak about who we’ll like to get back from our traumatic childhoods. We get chatting about the bullies and our experiences of bullies back in schooldays. School’s the best days of your life, yea sure it is. If you can say that, you were probably the bully. Surf Green Next up on the show we have Northern Irish band Surf Green on to speak about their recently released EP One hundred Percent, we speak about the band’s punk ethos, living in anarchy in Norther Ireland, well, not really anarchy, but you’ll hear and their influences. Best Comedy Podcasts I saw recently there was a Reddit thread about some guy moaning about all the Spanish, Italian and French students that descend upon Ireland to attend summer schools to learn English. Now, it would be very, very easy to rip the piss out of these wee Europeans who seem to know nothing of personal space and all seem to love blasting terrible music from their smartphones; however, if it weren’t for European students coming to Ireland there would be vast swathes of Irish lads who would never sample the highs and lows of summer romances. Have you ever thought about where you’re going to be buried? Well, in Germany you can win a prize and be buried in one of Hitler’s favourite places. So we get ta

Tinder Toilet Roll, Kim + Elton & Tiernan Douieb Joins us too | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:08:55

Today on the Comedy Cast, we speak to one of England’s finest political comedians Tiernan Douieb of the Partly Political Podcast about the shenanigans going on across the water in Merry Old England. Of course the ever hilarious Seamus Kelly is here too and we have a laugh about toilet roll on Tinder, a tinder podcast, meaningless wedding vows and the Kim Jong Un’s love for Elton John. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E09-Tinder-Toilet-Roll-Kim-Jong-Un-Elton-John-Tiernan-Douieb-Joins-Us.mp3 Best Comedy Podcasts Follow Spud on Twitter here: Follow Seamus on Twitter here We kick off the show and we have a chat about Seamus’ return to stand-up comedy with his charity gig that happened last week. He’s on a roll too, Seamus has another couple of gigs booked so we have a chat about how he’s preparing for them. Embed from Getty Images Next up with have the brilliant Tiernan Douieb returning to the show. Tiernan is one of the UK’s best political stand-up comedians so with the shenanigans of Brexit but the euphoria of the overachieving England team, as well as his return to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival coming up it was the perfect time to ask him to come back on the show. Next up we get talking about some poor lady on Tinder who’s been getting abuse on Tinder for not hanging her toilet roll properly. So we ask the question, how do you hang your toilet roll and is there really a proper way? A Nigerian preacher told his flock he was bullet proof, so he tested the theory. Comedy Podcasts We get speaking about the importance of words to the lads and they have a bit of a disagreement of their importance. Do wedding vows really mean anything? If you see something on Facebook from someone defending moths, are these words of equal value? We speak about It’s Coming Home and where the idea comes from, what is really coming home? The World Cup, sure that was invented by Jules Rimet and took place in Uruguay in 1930. Even the trophy that England won in 1966 was different than the one you can win now so that’s not coming home. Did England invent football? The English FA gave a game rules but games played using feet have been around for centuries and centuries. Get in Touch Tinder Podcast?  Sex Robots, Upskirting, Ozzzy & Sharon and Woo Woo | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:13:18

This week we’re all about Sex Robots, Upskirting, why Ozzy and Sharon love each other and we go all Woo Woo with Tommie Kelly. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E06-Sex-Robots-Upskirting-Ozzzy-Sharon-and-Woo-Woo.mp3 Follow Spud on Twitter here: Follow Seamus on Twitter here: Embed from Getty Images Comedy Podcast We have the mighty Tommie Kelly back. Tommie as you know is from the Adventures in Woo Woo website and we speak about some Woo Woo, photography and Alister Crowley. Myself and Seamus we have a natter about Sex Robots, Upskirting what the hell does Ozzy Osbourne see in Sharon and vice versa. We kick off the show speaking about why the drugs don’t work, not the cherriest of starts to the podcast but we discuss whether the Verve’s The Drugs Don’t Work is a pro- or anti-drugs song. Sex Robots! The sex robots are coming and they’re going to be able to say no. What does that mean? Is it done in purpose for a very specific, very messed up niche of sex robot users. Are we calling them users? Or are they partners? It’s a minefield this. We predict they’ll be the downfall of civilisation…but at least we’ll be able to get our rocks off first, if our wives are ok with us buying sex robots, and they won’t be. Upskirting has hit the headlines lately so we speak about this disgusting phenomenon and the awful beasts that are in the Conservative Party in the UK show do not want to make it illegal. Seamus goes all femi-nazi then and quickly losses the run of himself and the conversation turns to the particularities of what ‘soggy biscuit’ is. Next up, we have our interview with the ever great Tommie Kelly. Tommie is a dear friend and one of the most interesting men I know. He runs Adventures in Woo Woo and is an established artist. Recently on his podcast he spoke about his journey into photography, what’s he’s learned from entering photography competitions and why he loves street photography and capturing the perfect moment more than all the arty-farty stuff. Aleister Crowley is the topic of conversation then, sure we’ve all heard the name but what do we really know about him, other than Led Zeppelin were big into him. Tommie puts us straight on this enigmatic figure from the world of magick and why he’s been largely misunderstood, most of which was his own doing. Embed from Getty Images

 Farmer Michael, a Butcher’s Apron & Musicals with Misery | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:13:07

We have a belter of a podcast today, joining me as usual is the hilarious Seamus Kelly, we chat about our love for musicals with misery, the butchers apron in Kerry and why Anthony Bourdain was a dude. On top of all that we’re got a Farmer Michael interview, none other than Stevo Timothy. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E05-Farmer-Michael-a-Butchers-Apron-Musicals-with-Misery.mp3 Comedy Podcast We kick off the podcast with a confession we both have regarding redheads and Seamus divulges some personal information about his mental health. Look, let’s lay this out, we don’t have any problems discussing mental health issues on this podcast and we don’t take lightly to people who claim they’re open to talking about issues just to look good. We will talk about them and we’ll go deep on them and by Jaysus we’ll make a mockery of them too. Follow Spud on Twitter here: Follow Seamus on Twitter here: We have a wee chat Seamus losing money in the big smoke in Dublin which leads us down a tangent about Barack Obama’s apparent Irish ancestry, which has lead to a shopping centre in rural Offaly being named after him. Farmer Michael Interview Let’s get straight into our mammoth interview next. This week we have the wonderful comedy pair of Stevo Timothy and Sinead Nora McGrath  on to speak about Stevo’s comedy character Farmer Michael. Now if you don’t know who Farmer Michael is, well you need to check out his YouTube channel. He’s been a huge viral hit in Ireland and Britain and I’ve been a fan of his satirical comedy for a long time now and it was a pure delight to have himself and Sinead on the podcast to speak about why Farmer Michael has been a success, why it’s hit home with British audience, their success so far and what the future holds for them. Back to the gruesome twosome then and Seamus and Spud speak about the coming visit of Britain’s Prince Charles and Lady Camilla (that’s her title?, I’ve no idea) and the furor that it has caused among people who have very little to be doing with their daily lives. They’re kicking up a stink on social media because a car park is being mended which wasn’t going to be and the flying of the Union Jack on some flagpoles in County Kerry. Best Comedy Podcasts Seamus and myself love a musical. Yes, that might be surprising, but we embrace our love for a bit of musicality in films and a bit of tap d

Hello and welcome back once again to the Comedy Cast, we’re back with Episode 3 of Season 2. Thanks once again for the massive, huge, magic response to the podcast. We’re delighted with the response and the listenership is almost at the most ever so thank you. Really, from the bottom of our cold, dead hearts, thank you so much. It means the world to us that people like what we’re doing. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E03-Lady-Slime-Catfishing-Conspiracies-Does-it-Fart.mp3 Comedy Podcast We kick off speaking about the Royal Wedding, but only for a minute or two. Don’t worry, we quickly change the subject to Babestation and their high prices. We speak about what is Britishness and the Israeli army. Next up we tackle pre-marriage course and Spud tell us all about lady slime. Nuns tell us not to have abortion, there’s one priest less on the playgrounds and rehearsing marriage arguments. You might know the documentary Catfish, well there’s a television programme called Catfish on MTV too, it’s the same thing, so we speak about that and the recent controversy surrounding its host Nev Schulman recently where he’s been accused of sexual assault. We change tack then and we get speaking about conspiracy theories, We share some of our favourite ones talk about why they’re so interesting to so many people. For the final section of the podcast then we speak about which animals do and do not fart and Spud’s upcoming trip to Ukraine for the Champions League final.  Redundancy, Sex, the Eurovision and Meth | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:19:07

Hello and welcome back to another episode of The Comedy Cast, the world’s favourite comedy podcast…yea, sure. Join Spud and Seamus as they speak about Spud being fired, Sex, Meth, the Eurovision and an interview with the mighty Aggy Fox. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/The-Comedy-Cast-S03E02-Redundancy-Sex-the-Eurovision-and-Meth.mp3 Comedy Podcast The boys have some news! Spud goes and gets made redundant, even though he’d been praising and sharing his undying love for his job last week. Lesson learned kids, don’t love your job because it’ll crush your spirit and leave you paying a mortgage with buttons as you tick down the days until your second child is born. Seamus tells us about how he’s obviously been doing sex wrongly, so much so that his dear wife has had to take time off work. We speak about the different sexual positions you’re supposed to do to get pregnant and find out we know very few of them. Next up we speak about the Eurovision even though we’re a week late and maybe we stumble across why Palestine hates Israel so much. Then we have the great Aggy Fox on the show to speak about his podcast, his love of comedy, battling with anxiety before starting his podcast, who inspires him and his beloved football team, Leicester City. The Comedy Cast is back in an all new format, join Spud & Seamus as they speak about Marvel films, Time Murderers, and the Referendum. We’re joined by Adventures in Woo Woo‘s Tommie Kelly to get to know more about Magick. http://thecomedycast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/The-Comedy-Cast-S3E1-Marvel-Films-Woo-Woo-and-the-Referendum.mp3   Comedy Podcast Hello everyone and welcome back to a brand new series of The Comedy Cast, it’s been too long of a break but we’re back, bigger, badder and laughing more than ever. We’ve changing the format a bit too, instead of long form interviews that you’ve been used to we’re going in a slightly different direction. We have a co-host joining me from now on, none other than Kilkenny comedian Seamus Kelly and we’ll be taking guests on the show not just some comedy but from anywhere and everywhere. Look, comedy isn’t people talking funny, it’s funny people talking. So we kick off the brand new comedy podcast by speaking about the new format and we quickly take a tangent on to parenthood and how it’s all very overrated really but we’re not allowed to say that. But yea, it’s true, don’t have children. We have enough people. We get onto one of our main topics Marvel. We speak about why Marvel is crock. They make terrible films, bad television programmes and yea, they’re just shocking bad. Well, Seamus diens’t agree, he likes the television programmes but that’s allowed. He’s allowed to think what he wants, even if his opinion is wrong. Best Comedy Podcasts Next up we have a very special guest, Tommie Kelly from Adventures in Woo Woo. Now, Tommie is into, well, to be honest I can’t explain it properly. Have a listen and he explains it a whole lot better. Tommie’s an incredible man, he was a talented comic and graphic novel writer and now hosts a podcast and writes and creates art all about Magick. We get back to myself and Seamus then and we speak wee things that annoy us in people who think we’re mental for thinking that those things are annoying and we chat about the upcoming Repeal the Eighth referendum coming up in Ireland.
