Episode 16: Just Do Your Job | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:31

Gotta Spend Money to Save Money How often do you hear the phrase “I’m just trying to do my job here?" What does it mean to you, and in what context. It seems to be a mutual respect for the rat race, for trying to pay the bills, make rent, save your mortgage. Don’t mess with my work and I won’t mess with yours, we are all here to just do a job, no more and no less. It is a symptom of being rotted out with debt and living week to week, paycheck to paycheck. Shake off the connection between purchases and happiness, and live to get out from being bond to debt. It’s pay day on Nerd Optimal, hosts Albert and Ricky talk about live as a freeman and life as a career man. Ayra! Just stop lying to yourself! We had a amazing scene this week where Ayra plays the game of faces against the grand master Jaqen H'ghar.  After getting called out with each twack of a cane, a great truth is revealed! The Hound always had my heart, and seeing Ayra’s reason as to why she didn’t stick needle in that heart was a momentous moment. Another featured story thread was with the other daughter of House Stark.  Sansa and Theon suffer under the Bolton roof with nothing to indicate a reprieve anytime soon. We hope Sansa will use some of her training from Littlefinger to find a way out of her circumstances.  Yet at the same time pushing away any feeling of pity for turncloak Theon Greyjoy.  Episode 14: Capitalism and Politics | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:13:42

It is all a zero sum game. This week we put on our thinking hats and caps.  Zero theory is mystical idea where the outcome of actions cannot be predicted across any period of time.  The inability to predict the outward wave of cause and effect  from your actions puts a veil of mystery over the results of your actions.  How does this affect your behavior or morality?  Are your good deeds resulting in good and bad actions in bad?  Other items on our minds as we explore this: capitalism, DUI checkpoints, civil rights, politics, economics, and Adam Smith’s the invisible hand. What’s under that tarp? High stakes are being set up in the third episode of a Game of Thrones.  A train rolls through and demolishes the preconceived notion for this season as big changes from the books surface. It also leaves a rumbling in the audio’s background. The Nerds pick up the discussion on greyscale, Sam Tarly, theories about Qyburn, and the every frightening Roose Bolton. We talk about Arya’s training and her great methodical scenes with the master assassin Jaqen H'ghar.  Plug in and enjoy!  A Song of Fire and Nerds Episode 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:24

Feeling a bit blue about blue hair? Not everything is black and white, the signature shades of grey of Game of Thrones is shown off again in this week’s episode. Jon Snow gets two paths for wish fulfillment, what a darn lucky guy, maybe getting his fairy tale ending.  However Dany is finding her happily ever after dirtied up with blood splatters.  Being a ruler often needs tactful handling as seen by Doran Martell, in his debut. His style is not rage and wildfire, as seen in Cersei, or a misfire of justice, as seen in Daenerys.  We talk about leadership and threat of dragonfire as the basis to ruling.  A man is interested in the emergence of a familiar face, a faceless man.  A man is also happy to see Ayra on a path to eventually take her nightly prayer into her own hands. Listen in and become a part of House Nerd Optimal. This week’s intro and outro music: Shannywanna - Electronic Machine (https://soundcloud.com/shannywanna/electronic-machine)
