 8: David Roth is a Cereal and a Serial Entrepreneur | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:13:22

Greetings, and welcome to episode 8.  Make sure you grab your free resource guide from the form above.  Onto the guest! Find David at https://getstirredup.com Check out Cereality, which David and his partner Rick created: David Roth is a serial entrepreneur.  Yes…I said entrepreneur. He starts companies and sells them. He is a brand leader and visionary, and what he has to say in this episode will change your life.  Tools and techniques from the biggest brands in the world work just as well for your and your solopreneurial ventures.  Get your notebook out for this one. David has a Masters degree from Harvard, and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music.  He’s been featured on CNN, the Today Show, and more media outlets than you can shake a stick at.  This is one smart dude. David was essentially born an entrepreneur.  It ran in the family. His dad owned a very successful mattress company when he was a kid, only to see it burn to the ground.  Overcoming adversity is rarely a detractor for an entrepreneur…we learn the lesson and move on. We had an awesome chat, including what it was like to have this killer education and a great job, but feel completely unfulfilled.  Find out how he lives by the credo “I’m Going to Invent My Life”, and what he did that would make most people envious. He’s an action taker…he knows what he wants, and makes it happen. Remember, we are 100% Responsible For Our Own Happiness! When you listen to this episode, pay special attention to the fact that, even though he’s speaking of entrepreneurship, how relevant and parallel it is to what we do as solopreneurs.  Someone asked me on Facebook if I could outline the steps to becoming a solopreneur…well, they are in this show! Learn why David doesn’t think any new venture can be measured as a success or failure, and why he believes there’s always a lesson in every action. We talk extensively about The Four Key Points of Innovation, which you can dig into more detail at https://getstirredup.com * The Brand Serves as the outline. * The Experience Delivers the Results * The Conversation Sustains the Promise * The Idea Stewards are Visible and Vigilant Bring who you are, to what you do.   Be transparent.  Be honest.  It makes you more relatable.  To get “beyond” SELF-DOUBT, Act “As If”.  When someone tells you it can’t be done…act as if it can, and has been.  Some Relevant Links https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcJ7pv0YyXA https://getstirredup.com/our-innovation-branded.php https://getstirredup.com/our-thinking.php Wasn’t David Awesome?  7: Cliff Ravenscraft: Turning a Hobby into a SIX FIGURE INCOME | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:06:17

Find Cliff at http://www.podcastanswerman.com Back home in sunny San Diego, I have a great chat with the podcast guru himself, Mr. Cliff Ravenscraft.  Now, before you go thinking this is going to be all about creating a podcast…think again. Cliff was a successful insurance salesman in the family business when he decided to leave the comforts of a 9-5 job and do something he was truly passionate about. Listen in as we talk about his transition, and how he manages to balance a family of 5, his workaholic tendencies, and his need to “give back”. We touched on a few things on the show…here are a couple highlights: I just spent the week at David Wood’s (Host of http://thekickasslife.com) house, and he and his family do a daily ritual that I love, and that we can all integrate into our lives.  Whoever is sitting at the dinner table has to do this: * Name 2 things you’re grateful for from that day * Name 1 thing you were good at today * Name 1 thing you’re looking forward to. They do that every single day, and it’s such a great way to stay connected to the important things. A few links: mashable.com macstories.net Your FREE audiobook Thanks Cliff!  6: How to live a KICKASS LIFE, with David Wood | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:25

First things first, find David at http://www.thekickasslife.com Recording from The Kickass Life podcast studio in beautiful Kelowna, BC Canada, I get to spend (a little more than) an hour with my “Friendtor”, David Wood.  David has led an amazingly fascinating life, and we dig not only into his history, but how he’s really transformed his life into something most people would consider Kickass! Learn how traveling makes you “grow up”, and how to become fearless.  Find out the best place to sleep if you’re traveling alone in a town where you don’t know anyone.  Learn what you should do DAY ONE on your travel adventure. The key to traveling is the same key in business:  Deep Immediate Connection and Communication. Learn the strategy of traveling the world and living the life of your dreams, without spending a lot of money. We then moved into speaking, and what it’s like to command an audience of thousands, and be silent.  David follows (and teaches) a template for speaking to large audiences. We also chatted about living in “full range” and what that means. How a car payment can be the worst possible investment to make if you’re trying to get ahead in life, and detaching from “stuff” can be insanely gratifying. All in all, it was an inspiring hour to spend with one of the most successful, down to earth entrepreneurs in the land.  This is time well spent.  Some really useful links we chatted about on the show: World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms: WWOOF Couchsurfing.org thekickasslife.com Network Marketing Mythbuster If you’re looking to research a network marketing company, I consult with many of them doing social media training. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask on the contact form if you’re interested in connecting with one that’s a great fit for you. Books: Get your FREE audiobook download! The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated) Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!  3: From Bullied Kid to Cover Model to Millionaire with Chris & Lori Harder | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:39

Today I have a great and candid conversation with Chris and Lori Harder. They are a network marketing power couple that has made over a million dollars over the last couple of years in their company.  Hear the names Lori was called when she was a pudgy kid…far removed from winning Ms. Bikini Universe and gracing 3 Covers of Oxygen Magazine! Study what you want to achieve.  If you have an idea for a business, or how you might expand your current skillsets into a solopreneurial business, search online for the websites and forums of people doing what you want to do.  Find out how Chris was “Fake Employable” Discover how you can get a hand-puppet video for 5 bucks on Fiverr. Chris’ “scary moment” was leaving his stable, well-paying job to join a network marketing company. Don’t be afraid of doing multiple things, and trying different things out.  It’s ok if you fail.  In fact, you probably will.  That’s a good thing! Check out http://busygirlhealthylife.com and reach out to Lori & Chris if you want to get fit! Here’s a handy spot for links mentioned on the show: Chris & Lori Harder- http://www.busygirlhealthylife.com Fiverr- http://fiverr.com Lift App – https://lift.do/ StrengthsFinder 2.0– If you need to figure out your path in your life, or in your career, this is the best book I’ve read for that. Joe Bike – http://joe-bike.com Finally, I have a small (but important) request: This is a brand new show.  So, I’ve got zero clout in the world right now.  It takes a bunch of work to bring something like this to fruition.  And the work is really fun.  As my dad would have said “it beats digging ditches”.  Tru dat. Right now, my biggest asset is ratings and reviews on iTunes.  When iTunes sees that a show is getting good ratings and reviews, it puts them into the “New & Noteworthy” section, and a brand new show can get lots of traction. So, if you wouldn’t mind, would you please visit http://solohour.com/subscribe and leave me a nice rating and review?  If you leave a nice review, I’ll thank you on the show, and you’ll be forever famous. One more thing…if you think it’s valuable, if you could share this page on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a ton to me as well. Thanks so much, and I’m looking forward to hearing your comments about this show below. Michael

1: Podcast & Marketing Mastery with John Lee Dumas | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:04:23

The Solopreneur Hour is an audio podcast hosted by The Kickass Life Producer Michael O’Neal that will interview (and co-host with) the best and brightest solopreneurs from all walks of life, including network marketing, internet marketing, music, fitness, actors, comedians, and more.  These people are not only standouts in their industries, but they’ve put an entrepreneurial spin and “zagged” while everyone else zigged.  Our mission is to take you through their journey, give you actionable steps and actions to help you with your ventures, and inspire you to take massive action.   Hopefully we’ll have a few laughs along the way. We share practical steps and tools, including books, smartphone apps, websites, training courses, strategies and stories that will support you every step of the way. Instead of giving the same interview you’ve heard 100 times, we invite our guests to be co-hosts, and have a casual but insightful conversation about success, just like you would at a restaurant or a bar.  It’s that down-to-earth, practical conversation that lets our listeners know that we are all the same…just at different stages of our journey. Our first guest is none other than the podcast juggernaut himself, Mr. John Lee Dumas.  Many of you have heard his story. (If not, catch up with him at http://eofire.com/about)  His podcast is not even a year old yet, and his downloads per month are over 300,000! He’s taken a brand-new-to-him medium and turned it into a six figure income in a few short months. Since this is show #1, during our chat we talked a bit about how this podcast came to be, and the journey I’ve been through myself.  I’m going to go deeper into it in episode #2, but it’s been an amazing ride for the last 4 years…starting from only $14 left in my bank account, to this. We talked about how John got his start, leveraging his experience with the military, combined with some great lessons from The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss, to “batch” the tasks he needs to do every day to be a successful entrepreneur. We also talked about a game changer of a book (for both of us), called “The e-Myth Revisited” by Michael Gerber.  We both had a profound career change because of that book. John explained the concept of Parkinson’s Law:  work expands to fill the time available for its completion – means that if you give yourself a week to complete a two hour task, then (psychologically speaking) the task will increase in complexity and become more daunting so as to fill that week. We then got into a great conversation about creating and leveraging relationships.  How important building relationships to the right people in your niche are.  In fact, if there’s any nugget to take from this show, it’s this: Surround yourself with success.  If you want to be successful at “xyz”, then work to establish relationships with people that are successful at “xyz”.  John mentioned how instrumental Jaime Tardy (http://eventualmillionaire.com/) and Cliff Ravenscraft (http://podcastanswerman.com) were in helping him develop a winning strategy to start his show. And it’s worth nothing…he had his naysayers.  Have a listen to find out how he handled being told “There’s no way you can do a show 7 days a week!”. Finally, we talked about his killer program “Fire Nation Elite”.  Talk about a killer deal! If you want to surround yourself with success, have a look at http://www.entrepreneuronfire.com/FireNationElite/ and see if it’s a good fit for you.  He’s got very limited space for this incredible program, so don’t wait.
