Art of The Red River | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:00

Wade Zahres, Mike Dubisch and Carolyn Watson Dubisch interview artists, sculptors, and designers from all over the world and from all walks of life.  Our first 2 guests will be Jon Sanchez and Austin Zachary from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jon studied art and design at New Mexico State. He considers himself an illustrator first and foremost. Although, he has engaged in various forms of art mediums for most of his life. Jon has been designing and screen printing gig posters for bands since 2008 using the name “JONITO”. His posters are drawn/inked by hand, digitally separated, and hand-pulled using acrylic inks. He also does graphic design work such as logo design, political brochures, magazine layout and corporate identity. He is currently working on his first mini comic with his friend and co-worker Austin Zachary. Austin Zachary is a cartoonist, animator, and illustrator.  He has created several cartoons; Shaved Monkey and Furr E. Beaver and The InsideOut, which runs monthly in the ABQ Sports Magazine.  His animations include cartoons and music videos.  Our next guest is Phoenix artist, Annie Dunn. From her obscure beginnings as a doughnut peddler and obsessive doodler in northwestern Iowa, Annie moved to the big city in search of something called computer graphics. She now spends her days painting colorful creatures and other oddities using a Wacom tablet and stylus. Although verified public sightings are rare, Annie is rumored to live with her husband and a clowder of cats and dogs in the suburbs of Phoenix Arizona. The show will end with a discussion of the Spark show at the River Tree Arts Gallery in Kennebunk Maine. The show is a glimpse inside the minds of Maine's iconic illustrators.  Curated by our own Wade Zahares, feauturing the art of Dahlov Ipcar, Cathryn Fawell, Hazel Mitchell, Chris Van Dusen, Matt Travares.  Join us for a window into the world of art.

Art of The Red River | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:00

Wade Zahares, Mike Dubisch and Carolyn Watson Dubisch talk with artists from all walks of life from different locals around the world.   Our first guest is jeweler and gallery owner Lynda Rasco. Lynda started making jewelry at the age of 12 in the DeCordova art Museum School under the instruction of a master goldsmith from Italy. She continued to study jewelry making in high school. Lynda then went on to Massachusetts College of Art, and Portland School of Art to further her jewelry making skills. After college, she apprenticed for five years at two different goldsmith studios. Lynda received her gemological certificate from the Gemological Institute of America. Her and her husband Bill's jewelry line, the Harvest Gold designer features hundreds of original designs and styles of earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces, broaches, and pendants. Harvest Gold Jewelry treasures are represented at many fine jewelry galleries around the world. The Harvest Gold Gallery, located in the beautiful mountains of western Maine, is a family owned business that has been designing gold jewelry for over twenty-five years. Our next guest will be artist Felipe Echevarria.  Felipe is an internationally collected fine artist and graphic novelist, primarily focusing on figurative painting. " I don’t see auras on people. Rather, I intuitively sense energetic states to a high degree. I seem to know where emotional and psychic pain and suffering are hiding in someone, or were hiding in someone deceased. I often can also correctly read a person’s strengths and weaknesses while looking at a photo, or holding their hand, or meditating on their presence. When preparing to paint these pieces I do much historical research on the particular being and then forget about it—because for me, historical facts can only serve as a foundation toward understanding an individual’s true nature" He currently lives and works in Loveland, Colorado.
